- Bible teacher Derek Prince uses three images to describe the role of the father. The second one is the father as prophet. The father as prophet:
1. Is responsible for spiritual instruction (Ephesians 6:4)
2. Should use discipline with grace (Colossians 3:21)
3. Should continue ongoing communication in a non-religious setting - not just on Sunday morning (Deuteronomy 11:18-21)
4. Living like Noah, as a pattern for last days (Hebrews 11:7)
As a prophet the husband & father represents God to the family, just like the old testament prophets represent God to the people.

*Does it make you a fake Christian if you don't have a gift of prophecy?* Are Christians required to be prophetic??? My friend is almost forcing me. @ACROSS You can find Derek Prince teaching on the gifts of the Spirit where he talks about 3 different gifts of tongues. You can also check out 1 Corinthians 14:1Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.
