Cathy, wonderful "footage." Loved the sneaks. They actually add a perspective. If you think yours are filthy, you should see mine when I come in from the bush. Stay well. Blue skies ahead.
That was beautiful. I have been looking for an ultralight instructor around the DFW area and have not found one yet. I"m surprised that you did not kick out some hogs during that run.
Thank you! Yes, those were blue bonnets. Those huge fields that bloomed a few years ago are under water now since the water levels have risen to normal levels.
Can't believe I just did this! My first flight ever on an Ultralight Plane over the Texas Hill Country. Amazing experience! Excuse the distracting filthy tennis shoes...LOL...Video shot with the Iphone 5s and Nikon D750 #Texas #HillCountry #Flight #Flying #Ultralight #Plane #Bluebonnets #NikonD750 #Video #Iphone5s
Cathy Alba Glad that you had a good time, and that the weather was nice enough to take a ride. I am glad that I was a follower of Texas Bluebonnet sightings and that y'all posted about the plane. When I saw it I knew that it had to be my husband's uncle flying. Glad you experience that once in a life time experience.
Didnt even know there were any decent places to fly a UL in Texas..at least not where I stay.....Landing and taking off strips are few and far between......
I’m moving to Austin next month and want to buy a ultralight trike or quicksilver to fly around west Austin do you need private pilot license to fly quicksilver?
Hi Andre, Thank you! It was a wonderful experience but I don't fly an ultralight myself. I was a passenger and we specifically flew lower over the Bluebonnet fields that bloom here in Texas in the spring. This was one of the largest bluebonnet fields in the state at the time. I honestly don't know anything about planes.
Oh..okay, yes,but its really wonderful experience, even me enjoyed it. It’s good for you. I wonder if I can fly like that for 200km. here, he.he..Ok, my regards from Indonesia for you all.
The footage is beautiful, BUT way to low for me. Flying that close to the ground you don't give yourself any way out if the engine stopped or another problem. The terrain didn't look to good for a smooth landing in most places and at that altitude of 5-10 feet you have no choices and even a ballistic chute probably wouldn't help at such low altitudes. My flight instructor told me 40 years ago " There are old pilots and bold pilots - But not too many old bold pilots " Your the man and you know the risk, happy flying and be safe.
A once in a lifetime ride for me. I'm actually afraid of heights but the sight of the bluebonnets from above was amazing and couldn't pass up the opportunity.
use to live there and loved it till it started to grow and the water tables started to disappear,,,, tooooo many people moving in on Spicewood,,, ole USN vet
Jimmy Haley It’s a beautiful area! When I flew over Muleshoe the water was very low but now it’s higher and most of those areas that were blooming with flowers are under water.
I never changed the video speed while editing. This is what I captured while flying and videotaping with my NikonD750. The beginning is filmed with an iphone.
well done. illustrates the essence of why we love ultralights!
Awesome flight and beautiful Texas countryside !!! Thanks for sharing !!!
- "на бреющем" - это классный полёт, очень красиво! Благодарю!
Great job, ya'll, flying over all that beautiful hill country. I, for one, like your flying shoes.

That is an awesome video. I hope to be doing this in a year or two, myself.
My wife would love the wild flowers!
Great video. I cant wait to fly my old quicksilver mx this summer! I bet its a blast!! Never flown it yet.
That was beautiful. I have been looking for an ultralight instructor around the DFW area and have not found one yet. I"m surprised that you did not kick out some hogs during that run.
Amazing flight ! Thanks for sharing it.
Michel - ultralight pilot in France.

Life is good! Great video
LOVE the video.. BUUUUUUT I need new shoes..... And loved the Blueish flowers at takeoff
Thank you! Lol those shoes had just gone through mud photographing those blue flowers 🤣 our Texas Bluebonnets.
Beautiful!
Were those flowers blue bonnets that you were flying over? There was a lot of 'em, and they were great? Better vid than most.
Thank you! Yes, those were blue bonnets. Those huge fields that bloomed a few years ago are under water now since the water levels have risen to normal levels.

Wooow ... =D
Amazing aerial view I've watch in this video. Thankyou a lot.
I took my first flight in one of those in 1994 very nice
Jet propulsion? lol. That little flyer is cooking.
Excellent spectacular
Saludos desde Buenos Aires 😎👍👍
Hey! Awesome video! Where exactly is that! I fly out of kitty hawk and looking for places to go on the hill country area! Thank you!
Thank you! This was over Muleshoe and Turkey Bend recreation area in Spicewood.
Wow ! Safe emergency landing areas are far and few between around there. Fly high my friend ;)
Thank you! It was an amazing experience! LOL you are correct not many landing areas :0
This sort of low level flying looks to be loads of fun but what about power lines? Looks like they'd hard to spot in time to pull up.
This was my first time ever flying in one. The pilot was very familiar with the area and flight pattern though.
The only way to fly. ! When I took up flying, mama made me promise to stay safe and only fly low and slow
Didnt even know there were any decent places to fly a UL in Texas..at least not where I stay.....Landing and taking off strips are few and far between......
Sweet.
I've flown that quicksilver. It belongs to my buddy, David Birdwell
Yes you are correct! He kindly took my friend (Bluebonnet Sightings) and I for a flight after she mentioned him on her page flying over Muleshoe Bend.
Is it still 'Hot and Dusty' yeah round in Muleshoe like Dow Sherry said?
hmm i wonder where that is.. looked like the perdenales near me..
doc johnny
We flew over Muleshoe Bend.
at 10:00 you flew over the Spicewood golf 9 hole golf course,,, been there
I'll have to go back and watch that! Thanks for the info.
How many gallons can an ultra light have of gas without no license
Vocês são xrack, parabens
I’m moving to Austin next month and want to buy a ultralight trike or quicksilver to fly around west Austin do you need private pilot license to fly quicksilver?
I was just a passenger and don't have any information or knowledge on private pilot licenses.
No license required but I recommend some flight instruction and some mechanical ability.
It was really amazing flight Cathy, but fly higher is safer as long as no big wind. Btw. what is the ultralight do you fly? Thank you.
also how many knot do you fly?
Hi Andre, Thank you! It was a wonderful experience but I don't fly an ultralight myself. I was disappointed when i first flew small planes. Didnt feel like I was going very fast, and was so loud.
LOL was fast enough for me! Some of the dips felt like I was on a roller coaster :P

Put a mower on there and you could cut the grass too.
use to live there and loved it till it started to grow and the water tables started to disappear,,,, tooooo many people moving in on Spicewood,,, ole USN vet

yes,, but too many people,,, and my son still lives there and works in Marble
marble falls,, grewup near there
use to be nice,,, not now
How do you get that custom sail pattern?
I'm not sure. I believe the pilot and his father built the ultralight.
mark r pa thx so very much u make me fly my very best
True Highlander Thanks! Yes, I've thought of adding music to the video and probably will re-edit :)
No, no music please! Leave that for National Geographic want-to-be's
Do it !!!!
ive been told it too windy to fly ultralites in texas very often?
Sorry! I never got updates on mentions here. I'm not very knowledgeable on ultralights and this was my only flight so I'm not sure about that.
Not sure about that. This was my first time flying in one.
Nice thank you
Staying Safe Is Over Rated ... Stay FREE !
The best part is between 4:30 to 7:30
Mic wind filter.....
The video is not at the right speed way too fast for a Quicksilver.
I never changed the video speed while editing. This is what I captured while flying and videotaping with my NikonD750. The beginning is filmed with an iphone.
