Something about the N64 wrestling games that actually captured the Attitude Era feel. I played Smackdown at the time but that was too fast and too much light, whereas the N64 games you can tell they put alot of effort capturing the Attitude Era!
Yeah, I liked Smackdown ONLY because it had actual music, but the gameplay was garbage. It was a slightly better version of the "arcade" games that Acclaim made in the mid 90's. I loved these games so much, easy for anyone to pick up and just pure fun. I remember some things were kind of slow, but it was fun as all hell! The struggle over the cage always made me laugh lol, their feet turned to lead at the top of it.
I give No Mercy an edge on total package, including Championship Mode and the customization. But, WM 2000 doesn't deal with lag in multi-man matches. I hate that aspect of No Mercy's gameplay WM 2000 definitely deserves more credit

Absolutely agree, all the AKI games have this great intangible feeling to them, they really nailed the atmosphere in all their titles.

Everyone always praised no mercy but I always like Wrestlemania 2000 better
Yes. Especially since they had full entrances and didn’t cut them off.
