Hi Anastasia! Do you have any tips, how to learn vocabulary for a new language? Especially when you learn a language waaaay different from your native. For exmaple I am learning Hebrew and Chinese at the moment, and it takes hours to learn 10 words with the writing. And I forget by the next day. Chinese learning friends of mine told me, they just copy the character by hand for hours every day. I dont have the luxury of time :O Thank you so much for your asnwers, they will be highly appreciated.

Hi, thank you for your question. For the sounds of foreign words you can approach it in the same way as my video about learning Taekwondo terminology.
For the characters - when I learn Japanese Kanji (which are the same characters as for Chinese) I try to see how the character looks like its meaning.
For example the character to eat I have noticed it looks like a building/canteen with trays of food stacked in it ( to me ). Then for the word in that language I make an image that sounds like that word (like in the Taekwondo video again) and 'attach it' to the character meaning to eat.
In Japanese to eat is Taberu (which sounds like table and roo (kangaroo)) So in that same character for Taberu (discussed above) I see the canteen with the trays of food and now also an image of a table with a roo eating. I hope that makes sense... it is hard to describe in words but easy to do in practice. I will try to make a video for you sometime to explain further :)
