      This is a variation of the kongo dance from the Kongo kingdom in Africa. It's part of Haiti's folklore; one of the many dances originating from pre-colonial Africa.

      @@phijona this is Haitian dance they just name the dance after Congo that doesn’t mean it’s African dance. This is very much Haitian dance

      ​​​@doyouknowhim2237 I'm Haitian. Most of our traditional dances traveled on the ships with the slaves. The dances have the name of the nations they came from. Ibo is from the Igbo people and Nago is from Yoruba culture. They are our memories of Africa. I'm NOT trying to take away anything from Haitians. The fact that we preserved so much culture is remarkable.
      Of course, many of our dances, such as Petro, were created in Haiti.

      @@phijona no stop this cap you not even Haitian and we never came on boat. It takes 6 months for a boat to come from Africa to the Caribbean 6 long months so how the hell we from Africa? Haitians are mixed blooded. My grandfather was a polish Haitian with blue eyes
