I need to remember the basics. My next challenge will be to stop injecting air too long or too little so I get that sweet gloss instead of thicc foam or watery milk.
Hmmmmmmmmmm I've tried many different techniques to steam milk but this was the far best one and I've had great results with this! Thank you! If you haven't placed "Rude version" in title i probably wouldnt've watched the video ^^

Just found the site and watched all of them. Love them and love the education!! I have a Cafelat Robot and just bought a Bellman steamer. I love it and am working on technique and late art. It’s sloooowly coming together. Would love to see you do a video with the Bellman. Great channel and keep it up!!
Depends on the brand of oatmilk. I am making an Oat milk comparison video soon! I would say most milks steam with the same technique, some just need more/ less air, and sometimes more/less heat.
@@willchappel9595 right, sure, but wouldn’t that just be the same as one shorter continuous hiss for a latte and one longer continuous hiss for a cappuccino?
Loved this! I watched your extended video and I have been practicing. So far, Ive only gotten wet paint once. I think I'm injecting to much air. at the beginning I'm lots of bubbles and it takes a few seconds for vortex to start. So does that mean I don't have my wand low enough in the pitcher?
@@EmileeBryant Agreed! We just debuted a Honey Chai Cortado and it's a hit. 1 pump honey syrup, cortado made with oat milk & topped with chai spice powder. Such a fan Emilee! Everybody at the shop, especially the newbies, are benefitting so much from your videos. The only downside is that they keep showing me all of their latte art. At this point I just want them to clean our bathrooms. Let me know if you ever offer phone consults! Jen
@@louisaj9634 LOL they are falling down the latte art rabbit hole. I do offer consults. My schedule is a bit tight atm but February is more open if you want to connect then?
I do aspire to consume wet paint on a daily basis haaha, the video is very clear and precise! How long do you suggest to froth milk for cappucino as my trainer mention 8-10 sec but most blogs mention 6 sec? Does the difference is sec make a huge difference?
Love the caffeinated humor of the channel. My milk, on the other hand, is not so good. I have a bambino plus and whenever I try to froth manually I just get a horrible loud screeching sound and the final result sucks. Not to mention the time I sent milk flying all around the kitchen. hopeless :(
Hey there! Thank you for the love! Have you checked out my other milk steaming video? its more informative than this one. I also have a video called top 10 milk mistakes that might help. Usually if its screaming at you its due to not enough air in the milk.
Happy to be a scum-bag! I think I get a great texture on my Barista Pro but I have to pour the art from much closer to the surface than I have seen online. Wondering if the default jug doesn't have the right width spout. Wotcha think Emmy? How to I pout the art from higher?
my steam wand is a little weak compared to yours. Do I wait for the whirlpool to start or should I start injecting air immediately? Also, when you drink your latte, should it be hot? I noticed thay my latte art wasn't drawing well when I tried to make my latte hot, but in the past, i somewhat drew something with the right texture of milk, but it's not hot, barely above warm
I will test tomorrow to reduce my steam time, maybe that's why I can't have the smooth flowing milk when doing latte art. I have silky milk texture (like wet pait or melted ice cream), but nothing draws when I pour, it only does when there's little left, a couple dots maybe. No foam is floating on top too. So the only thing I can think about is lowering the temp. I kinda have asbestos hands so my heat tolerance is a lil high. also tried using thermometer but it messes up my whirlpool
So we are in the market for an upgraded espresso machine, Rancilio Silvia Pro X is a high contender, but now we see you using an Oscar II, which do you prefer? Why? Pros and Cons? Appreciate any real world real user input that isn’t selling the device!
I have a machine with high steam pressure (over 1.5 bar). I have trouble controlling the turbulence when using a 3 hole or 4 hole tip. I usually get a few strong rips and that throws the milk off balance and I have to recover, so it's really hard to get consistent texture. If I manage to get gentle kisses of air, the milk gets too hot before enough air is added? Do you have any tips?
Simonelli Oscar is one of the hardest machine I work with. This deserves a rude version indeed, considering the frustration of figuring out the right time to finish steaming using an Oscar.
Is the OSCAR II worth it? I can grab one new for $850. Are the shots good and anyway near a Mara X/Profitec GO or the like? Even a Flair 58? Seriously debating…
What works for you is down to what you enjoy and what you need. I’ll be honest I think you’ll enjoy the exploration of the flair a ton! Though the workflow is limited since there’s clean up in between shots and warm up time and whatnot. Also it doesn’t steam at all. But you can do any profile you want manually. For the Oscar you can dial in nice shots but personally I find that machine a bit dated compared to todays line up and expectations. You’ll have to mod it so the opv works at 9bar and not 11bar out the box. It doesn’t do any real profiling and I think it just somewhat feels like a toy compared to a Mara X or a flair. Also there is the meticulous coming out later this year which will be like of flair and decent had a baby but that’s a while away and of course 1500 So hard! But I guess the q is… what are you looking for? Quality espresso? Milk drinks? Budget?

What’s the benefit of doing multiple injections of air versus one continuous injection?
You’ll end up with different texture, latte art usually calls for 2-3 short hisses whereas cappuccinos would be about 5 seconds of continuous hisses
@@willchappel9595 right, sure, but wouldn’t that just be the same as one shorter continuous hiss for a latte and one longer continuous hiss for a cappuccino?
