This excellent song was written by the outstanding guitarist Steve Gaines, who only played on their last studio album and their live album. Unfortunately he was one of those killed in that tragic plane crash. Only 28 years old at the time he never got to make the impact on the music world that he should have.

Another fact about Steve Gaines, was the opening guitar lick on this song was done in one take. That's impressive, that guitar lick is unreal. It hooks you from the beginning.

Steve Gaines was a bad man.

The Steve Gaines solo album was also good (One in the Sun). It’s on RUclips.

I love it when people who have never heard or listened to Lynyrd Skynyrd because of their incorrect opinion of them (they are the farthest things from racist) or they just haven’t ever been exposed finally do get turned into them, and finally get it. And you guys definitely GET IT. Love watching you two react to different genres. Keep up the great work.

A Steve Gaines classic, along with You've Got That Right and A'int No Good Life, that made Street Survivors the great album that it was. I thought Billy Powell's excellent piano playing and Leon Wilkerson's bass lines were exceptional. Glad you liked it! It's been on my play list since 1977.

If you decide to do Free Bird, you must react to the video of them at the Knebworth Festival in 1976. They were opening for the Rolling Stones . After this performance, I really don't think that the Stones wanted to show their faces on stage. A must see.

I love this song (my favorite by Skynyrd) but it's too short.

I don't know if you will read this or not, but I found your conversation funny, about teenage boys dating older girls.
In the USA it is the opposite. All of the girls in my class weren't very interested in me, they had boyfriends 2 years older. It was always that way. And the girls 1 or 2 years behind me were always interested in me.

The Allman Brothers is a legendary southern rock band. " Whipping Post" "Soulshine" "One Way Out" are just a few of their great songs.

The original of this song with Steve Gaines playing "I Know A Little" with his band Crawdad before he got with Lynyrd Skynyrd can be found here on RUclips and it's phenomenal. Ronnie changed a couple of the lyrics to the song to "Skynyrize it" when Steve brought the song to the band for the Street Survivors album, but the music that Gaines wrote for the song what seems like a hundred years ago now hasn't changed at all.

I have a great one for you Enoma!..please consider 'Flirting with Disaster' by Molly Hatchet......Southern rock anthem from 1980.....just a whole different sound from Lynyrd Skynyrd......They played the big stadiums and have a very faithful fan base from the past......

They were the best at playing Southern Rock, but ... they were from Florida and played it so well, everyone believes they are from the deep South.

    • @DizzyD850

Well, Jacksonville, FL its just a hop and a skip from the Georgia state line. As a native of Florida, that is still considered the deep south.

Maybe guys think about changing the album cover to the alternate Street Survivors album out of respect for Steve Gaines family. As it is his head engulfed in flames, and is one of the members killed in the plane crash. Other than that, I like seeing you guys listen and react on their music. I grew up on their music and my mother and father loved their music, too!
