I'm 62 years old. We have been giving these as gifts since I was a child. We did it different, we embroidered a picture on our potholders to personalize them. This was a big job for a 5 year old. It gave me great pride in giving this gift. Happy new year.
You can’t use hot glue on a pot holder you’re using for a hot cast iron pan. Those handles get hot all the way to the end. It is a great idea IF it’s sewn, instead of glued because that glue WILL remelt!
So many of these "hack" videos are just designed to make an entertaining video, not to actually create useful items. Sadly most of these "projects" wouldn't last one use. Its an annoying trend
@@bubgum0079 I rewatched it and you’re correct. She used hot glue on several of them, but fabric glue on the cast iron holder. I still believe sewing it would work better. Glue of any kind isn’t made for that kind of heat.
@@kellywilliams529 there's something called a fabric stick with the hot glue gun you can use it and it will not come apart when you use it with heat you used it in your glue gun and it won't be dangerous or anything it will not come apart or nothing when you use heat on mittens and everything with the iron pot
My mom would've called these things dust collectors. She was crafty but made stuff she used. When she died, most of it got tossed out. Couple of these ideas are clever, the rest, well...not really.
How does hot glue do on fabric in the wash? Does it hold up? Just curious I just look at fun crafty stuff and procrastinate my self through life. 🤣 Im running out of days to do fun stuff. 🙁
Hot glue holds up great over time when making an eye glass case. I started making mine like 10 years ago. They have all held up and so have the ones for family and friends. Hot glue on cloth stands the rest of time.
@@zxception Either way, I agree and would rather use needle and thread, personally. You all can hot glue if ya want though...its a free country, ....sort of. 🍃🤗🍃
I am hoping to buy my first house in the next few weeks and stored in my brain and written in my idea book are many ideas from this channel. I have the same salt and pepper towel but, it now looks so bland on my towel bar. I have made hundreds of potholders from fabric and they have sold quite nicely as pairs at craft sales but, I bet these already made pot holders repurposed would be a hit. I said Tommy boyfriend weeks ago I wonder if anyone has ever made an eye glass case out of a pot holder, that was going to be a new craft idea, but then on this I see the wallet and I LOVE IT! I would embellish one corner of it too. I would like to see how the black purse was made too. It's late at night and I worked a 11 hour day. Thanks for great ideas!
That is often the way it is with these dollar tree diy's don't you think? Yes you get the fun of making things but don't think all of them are cost cutting ideas.😊
These ideas are just perfect for first time apartment renters, college kids, people like that! You know, you want to really decorate your home, but have limited money. I thought there were several that I’d try, and the thing I really liked was that the materials needed go a long way, like a roll of macrame rope or skeins of yarn. I thought it was creative!
I don’t understand. Are you saying you want them to list suppliers besides Dollar Tree? Between Amazon and Hobby Lobby you should be able to find anything under the sun.
The pizza pan - wall decoration hack with the strings - gets cheaper if you do not buy pizza pan but use whate cardboard instead - then you can more easily glue on the wool, too.
So creative! I especially loved the marbles-lazy-Susan idea. Simple, inexpensive, and easy to make. I’ve often wanted one for the holiday season table. Thanks for sharing. ✌🏼
You could use some hammocks in the corners of the room kind of in a tier formation like 2 or 3, then place your stuff animals in them. I hope this helps.
I have looked at DIY videos on craft ideas using stuff from the Dollar Tree, and they looked like they should be sold at the Dollar Tree. All your ideas were really cute, and I can’t wait to try some☺️.
Most of these are beautiful! Some really good tips in here. Just don’t use hot glue on anything that is going to be exposed to heat (like the cover to hold that hot pan) and don’t use hot glue on anything that you might want to put in the dryer (I learned this the hard way). Good ideas in this one, Hometalk!
Enjoyed this video. While I have seen several of these diys before, I didn't mind seeing them again to remind me how to do them! I agree - I think I'd sew some of the fabric crafts just to be sure they'll hold.
Has anyone ever used the potholders for hot pans/pots? Beautiful colors, but they seem thin. After seeing this and the eyeglass case hack, I will be picking up several colors. I will probably sew them together and maybe even experiment with embroidering an initial.
I would definitely get a better quality pot holder for any ideas like the skillet handle. The Dollar tree pot holders are way too thin and can't handle the heat.
Was reading through the comments, boy there is a lot of hateful people out there. I rewatched the video and I didn't even see much hot glue, screws, zip ties, E6000, fabric glue, hand tying. I'm sure it took way more time to make this video than the eight minutes it took to watch it. If you think something is not safe to make, don't make it. I appreciate all the great tips she shared.😀
Wow, what wonderful ideas, blows my mind honestly, incredible ideas. I love all of them , I love th e pot holder ideas, they are all wonderful. Thank you for sharing, I appreciate you.
So many clever ideas packed into a video a video, that I forget which one I like the best. They are all pretty good. Thank you for sharing. I’ll have to save this for later and work a little at a time.
I made the last one - pizza pan macrame yarn and shower rings a few years ago. My cats LOVE it as a bed on my sofa ottoman. (One is sleeping in it now) So much for a decorative tray ?!
It doesn’t look like they’re using hot glue on the pot holder for the iron skillet. It looks like it was a fabric glue which doesn’t melt after it dries.
Great ideas EXCEPT for using as a cover for the handle of a hot cooking utensil, which could easily slip from the cover and become a hazard for burns or other injuries.
Seriously inspiring! I love crafting but I've got standards! Cannot require more than 4 steps, 4 ingredients (preferably on hand) and less than 3 hours to complete! Most of these featured projects will be attempted. NEXT!

That’s not hot glue she is using. Where’s the glue gun at? That’s fabric glue.
@@PetroicaRodinogaster264She wasn’t using hot glue, did you see a glue gun? She is using fabric glue.

Agree u ll find good items in reasonable price in Ross
Im not fond of dust collectors either. I crochet towel toppers. They are practical and I use them every day. I give them as gifts.
I love these videos but this one was filled with a bunch I have seen over and over and over again
...and over again

Yes
I agree I may unsubscribe….
Watch old ones then
Nice variety. I would suggest a needle and thread over hot glue on most applications with fabric as it does not stand up to heat or stress well.
How does hot glue do on fabric in the wash? Does it hold up? Just curious I just look at fun crafty stuff and procrastinate my self through life. 🤣 Im running out of days to do fun stuff. 🙁
Damn...I am so NOT CREATIVE! Love these ideas!

She used fabric glue for the pot holder, it can be used with heat.
Be careful using hot glue on projects that are exposed to high heat or direct sun. The glue can soften up and the project will fail if it does.

Yeah, hot glue on a potholder put on a hot cast iron pan ... umm ...
I love all ideas with potholders, as they would make great gifts for teachers.
I USE PLACEMATS TO MAKE PURSES
All of these ideas are so useful and adorable..😄
Love the stone boot holder and the pink scalloped gold mirror ❤️
Good ideas - but more sew instead of glue!
Some of that stuff just looks cheap but lots of it are such great ideas
these are great ideas! so creative ♡ thankyou for the video and to all those involved in making it 😀 much happiness to you all
Good idea, except I've priced all items & by the time you purchase it all,you can buy a ready made towel
Agree
That is often the way it is with these dollar tree diy's don't you think? Yes you get the fun of making things but don't think all of them are cost cutting ideas.😊
Repurposing used items would be a much better idea than going out and buying new items.
If you don’t like the way she does it use her idea and put your own spin on it. Don’t be a hater. I love her ideas. Keep up the good work.
yes, but she shouldn't advertise it as potholder stuff when the majority of it is NOT!!

Amazing how creative and talented you are and with just everyday things you find in dollar tree.
These are adorable and useful crafts...wish would list the products that were not from dollar tree like the items from Amazon.
I don’t understand. Are you saying you want them to list suppliers besides Dollar Tree? Between Amazon and Hobby Lobby you should be able to find anything under the sun.
You'd have to stitch the cast iron pan handle holder or the hot glue would melt over time.
Definitely
She didn't use hot glue on those. She used fabric glue.
I just started beading, now I have to start crafting from the Dollar tree!! Thank you so much for your ideas 🌟
I’ve been making eyeglass holders out of pot holders for YEARS … like 10. But I do like the towel idea.
Very creative ideas! I prefer sewing after tacking with hot glue.
The pizza pan - wall decoration hack with the strings - gets cheaper if you do not buy pizza pan but use whate cardboard instead - then you can more easily glue on the wool, too.
Great useful ideas that I can use , thank you , You are a genius 👍👏👏👏👏👏
One could use those pot holders for your cell phone, while it is off of course.
Just get two to fit n use hot glue..
Me vuelvo loca viendo estos vídeos ,quiero hacerlo todo 😅😅
Dollar tree 🌴🎄,. Here I come,. They have alot of these potholders!! Great 👍 idea 💕 && washable tooo
Lots of great ideas. I'd sew them, but hot glue works.
Nice ideas.. HOWEVER THE MUSIC IS WAY TOO LOUD!!!

The marble lazy Susan has been around for years.
Awesome ideas! ❤️
Most of these ideas are a bit "tacky," but the pot holder for the pan handle, was a good idea!
These are awesome and I really enjoy rewatching as I have seen many of these several times! Could we please get some NEW DIYs? Thank you
I love all these ideas! Thanks for sharing!😊😊

Any ideas on storage or display for a childs stuff toy collection ?

I added hot glue to a pot holder to put my flat iron in and it still glued together. This have been over 15 years
Holy Catfish! We never have these cool items at our dollar store!!! Great ideas!
Helpful hints.
Just love all projects done.

This person is a wholesale consumer of glue

Dollar Tree pizza pan for the win lol

I tried to make the Lazy Susan with the two cake pans and marbles, but it was very wonky. I was very disappointed. ☹️
Thank you for the great ideas. Very cute and very clever! I will be trying several.

Great ideas! Thanks
Some items are just to tacky I would never but others are pretty cool
It doesn’t look like they’re using hot glue on the pot holder for the iron skillet. It looks like it was a fabric glue which doesn’t melt after it dries.
Watch, there will be someone who will do the pot handle one and then drop a hot pot and then try to sue someone.
Very creative just have to be able to find those products 🎉❤🎉😊

You're right, those are genius!!!

Love these ideas! ❤

I love these! But those cow bells are expensive… where did you get them?
some great ideas. From over the pond England

I love the cutting board shelf. We don’t get those at our store:(
I'm in the same boat. All we can do is look and hopefully they show up pne of these days.
Home Depot had a saw you can use or they cut boards for you. You have to buy their wood. I assume they still do this.
Thanks for the kitchen ideas!👍🤗You all brilliant and amazing!😍😍🌹🌻🌼

Ty for some new ideas too!!
What a waste of resources
Love all those great diy hacks ! 🥰😊👍
I have some dish towels from dear family, I love the frame idea
Really creative ideas, but the purse idea just seems like a bad idea to have your ID and money literally held together by glue and a pot holder.
I liked the last one the best 💕
