Herr Buchbinder produces the best piano sound I have ever heard -- meaty, beautifully focussed, warm, and infinitely tender in cantabile passes -- it positively GLOWS. The orchestra obviously adores him. They were so perfectly in accord with his many subtle changes of mood and tempo. The lengthy post script after the cadenza to the first movement was so beautifully played and so touching it transported me to another world. I can't say enough to praise this greatest among the great artists of our time. The second movement was sublime -- a seemingly bottomless well of profundity and compassion. His flexibility in the Rondo is breathtaking. I couldn't have stopped listening to this spellbinding performance, if the room had caught in fire. Far beyond wonderful, it is truly GLORIOUS!

@@RaineriHakkarainen Just here this concerto performed by Solomon and there you'll hear probably the best version of this concerto. Especially for the second movement. Here: ruclips.net/video/WEC--SLJu0E/видео.html
The first bars of the second movement are played much too straightforward; they should be andante moderato, with a kind of solemnity, here they look like a beginning of a march. This second movement is nearly like a funeral anthem. It has something tragic in it which is not rendered here by the orchestra.

Rudolph Buchbinder is a true Beethoven expert! He brings out the communicative quality of the music more than anyone else, I have heard. Thank you for upload!

The Buchbinder magic is back! The man, the child of God, the prophet. Does it get any better? Not in a million years!

Alleluia! I could not have put such comment in better language; I've enjoyed Mr. Buchbinder's interpretations of Mozart's latter concertos, conducting as well, appearing to be a consummate artist on his endeavors.

Like the way he conducts from piano in its usual position.Don't like seeing pianist's back when he/she conducts and plays! On the whole a separate conductor and pianist is preferable.Fine performance here, though.
