Public Masterclass with Boris Berman

The Department of Piano of the #mdwwien hosted a public masterclass with Boris Berman on Prokofiev's Piano Sonatas in May 2023.
“The opportunity to take part in such a great event with this performer, this pianist … It´s amazing!”- #mdwstudent Angela Todorova was one of the selected students for the masterclass.
Boris Berman, highly acclaimed pianist and teacher, is regarded as a leading expert on Prokofiev and was the first pianist to ever record the complete Prokofiev solo piano works. These recordings, and also his book "Prokofiev's Piano Sonatas: A Guide for the Listener and the Performer" (Yale University Press, 2008) are highly praised internationally. His edition of Prokofiev's piano sonatas is the most authoritative edition of this repertoire available.
Berman is the head of the Piano Department at Yale School of Music.
