It is always good to have more than one option besides buying. By the way, why did you choose to use brass inserts? why not trying the captive nut method? where you can stop midprint to insert a nut inside the piece
I considered that very strongly, and as you can see in my other videos, I use that technique for embedded magnets. The inserts are getting so cheap that it doesn't matter all that much. Today, I am uploading another video using an old bolt for a star knob stud.
