I was 16 years old when I went to this event. I was in a very accelerated summer school course (studying for 8-10 hours per day.) I didn’t study at all that night and got a D the next day on the test, but it was worth it to go to this show! They didn’t tell anyone it was going to be an HBO special until the very end.
Man, I missed all of this Adam Sandler greatness back then. I didnt have a tv or cable. But, thanks to RUclips, I get to relive the good times I didn't know I had.
Long live the 90's! By far one of the best shows ever. This is when comedy was at its peak. Shame on anyone who rants on this. As the last guy said, "Respect, respect, respect, respect! Ya gotta respect Adam!"
I used to listen to this CD I NEVER knew there was a live concert to it! I recently seen Sandman live here in KCMO and I stumbled upon this! CRAZY!! He’s the BEST!
I remember when this came out on HBO. I recorded it on my VCR. Yes, I'm that old. What an amazing time to be alive back then. I loved the 90's. By far one of the funniest performances in life, hands down.
What a great time to be a teenager in ‘96. Sandler was hot just recently filming Happy Gilmore, the economy was so less chaotic, KISS was doing their first final farewell tour, Seinfeld and friends were the hottest thing on TV, Alanis Moressette was 21 years old, and the Chicago Bulls couldn’t be touched with a 72 win season (greatest team of all time IMO)!
Still remember getting the "they're all gonna laugh at you" CD when it first came out and every album since. Saw him in concert and it was about twice as long as this one, great show
Wow thats crazy, this was one day before my 13th bday.. Adam Sandler was then and is still now a LEGEND! And it seems like he may actually just be the one of the few people in Hollywood that isn’t a complete piece of shit. Either way you gotta appreciate someone that is brave enough to always be themselves through it all! 👏
I was here live at this in ‘96 in Chicago. At the end they had to almost do a second full show just to get extra audience shots! One of my friends jumped on stage and did a backflip when Farley came out, but they edited it out..
Happened to record this on vhs on a whim in 96 when it first aired, little did i know it would turn out to be one of the best comedy concerts of all time, i wore this vhs tape out playing it on repeat at parties or whenever friends were over, still got the tape somewhere in my vast vhs collection definitely a fav, 27 years later and i can still repeat every line word for word, 45:35 medium pace is hilarious, much respect to the adam
I remember when this first came on I was so excited to see it because I had become a pretty big Sandler fan especially after listening to the what the hell happened to me album, which is still his best album in my opinion. I recorded it on a VHS and watched it every morning before I went to school everyday for like 2 months lol I was obsessed
I was so young when WTHHTM came out I had to hide it from my mom and I eventually collected all his albums, but as far as skits and songs none of them hold a candle to that one.
I wish I could be a teenager in 80s, then be an adult in 90s. Instead I had my teen years in early 2000s and adult years in 2010s, and nothing this epic has happened.
@@kyliepollert8341 .....and his new Netflix special "100% Fresh" totally KILLS! Dude knows who he is now, what he isn't anymore, and is a totally original talent. So we've got the killer new Shi*t, and we've got this insane show from '96. I'd say Sandler's legacy is pretty secure.
Yeah the good old days when Sandler was hilarious. Unfortunately those days have been long gone and woke fake ass alternative lifestyle promotion took its place
At 47:08, what does he think, he's Garth Brooks with that cowboy hat on? "Lunch Lady Land" was awesome, with the female backup singers singing "Sloppy joe, slop, sloppy joe"; I've always loved that song!!
I watched the night it first came on HBO in the fall of 1996 when I was in 7th grade. I taped it at a sleepover and watched it well into 1997. Everyone loves this man bc he’s such a relatable goof ball who makes everyone around him feel included. Little things like getting beach up into balcony, calling out little kid in RHSS, and giving love to his whole band.
The guitarist with the dark hair looks like the guitarist in Infant Sorrow from Get Him to the Greek….or is he in the Wedding Singer band? It’s definitely one of those, maybe both.
Sandler was completely original and he should be praised for that alone.
I was at this show, in the front row with the REN & Stimpy T-shirt 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 we had NO idea they were going to tape for HBO or that Chris was there
Man. 1996. 16 years old. So many great memories. Driving my blue Lumina around Chicago blasting this on a cassette. To be young and free.
do you remember what venue this was at?
Rosemont Theatre, I was there!
Oh maaan.. watching this in 2024, hearing some Farley stuff I've never heard!.. so happy right now ❤
me too😊
😢 I miss this.. and my youth. He was absolutely the best. Farley, Sandler, rock, and spade. Greatest ever.
Had to rewatch this after rewatching his Chris Farley tribute. I was 15 when this came out. Early Sandler, best Sandler!

So awesome! AdAm was very underrated for his musical skills! I remember listening to this CD over and over and over in my room when I was like 13
And talented, too! He seems like a very down-to-earth guy who really appreciates his fans, including me!!
Same, I actually forgot until just now. This CD still holds up. So hilarious!
What a time to be alive
Man do I miss Farley.
Chris Farley @ 24:30 😍😂

I was stoned out of my mind and drank through the whole show. Great show. 90s where a great time
How loud was the pop in the stadium when farley came out?
I used to listen to this CD I NEVER knew there was a live concert to it! I recently seen Sandman live here in KCMO and I stumbled upon this! CRAZY!! He’s the BEST!
Farley was the GOAT. R.I.P.

Hell yea totally agree!
This is the only comedy show that has a rockstar feel.
Tenacious D kicks, but they're more rock than comedy.
@@JustLikeHeaven77 Steel Panther - serious band yet completely spoofing the days of hair metal on the sunset strip
Same here. I can instantly remember being a kid watching my shitty vhs copy of this with my friends.
It's pretty good to be alive now too, just saying.🤔😎
I love the goat he cracks me up😂😂
No the goat was the goat

Awww...man, I'm so glad I got to see this live in St. Louis! One of the best, most fun shows I ever attended. It was fucking fantastic!
This is exactly wat 96 felt like
And it wasn't funny then.
@@mikeschmidt4800 why did you watch it multiple times if you don't like it 🤦♂️
@@mikeschmidt4800 and yet you responded to a 3 year old comment. How pathetic
Im sad that im 30 and ive never seen this before. I coulda used this about 20 years ago
This is the perfect album for 14 to 18 year old boys.
I was obsessed with this when it came out
FARLEY FOR LIFE 💙
This is so underrated! Just a great time in history.
I wached this concert on HBO,recorded onto VCR!!!! Great times amazing mood!!!

Who else came here for farley?
Me!!
Best cartwheel I’ve ever seen.
I'm so glad I found this on you tube. I saw it when it premier on HBO, I recorded it and lent it out to someone and never got it back

Can't remember how many times riding around 4 deep in my friend Billy's pos car and playing this tape... Classic
Weird but that’s what makes it memorable and great.
I saw him in concert on this tour.
I like how often Sandler uses the word fuck in this.

The crowd went ballistic when Farley ran out!
Oh yes, they did; he is truly missed!
Imagine the level farley would be today if he was still here
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing this , been looking for the full version for a long time. had it recorded on VHS but wife taped over it
Thanks for uploading this, have been looking for this for years.
I remember my dad recorded it on VHS when it first aired of HBO, I wasn’t able to watch it at first cause my dad said it wasn’t for kids... Hahaha

Thee 90's. Damn.
Love the sax player

Richard Burchfield dudes in his 50s isn’t he?
Yes, 52. He's got a wife and 2 daughters now, so life has changed since this concert!

Anybody trashing this, go enjoy your Amy Schumer special and let us enjoy when humor was actually good!
aww gross dude!
Lol humor was actually good? The people that think Adam Sandler is funny are the same people that think Family Guy is still funny after 21 seasons...
Omg this is when comedy was at its peak. Anyone trashing this does not understand. Nor will you ever.

Hell yeah 👍👍

Nostalgia & 1990s Adam Sandler go together like peanut butter & jelly… With a jumbo sloppy Joe sandwich 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yoo Sandler can kill it for a Halloween rap shit. All of this was fire especially the Chris Farley hype up! ❤️❤️🙏🏻
25 years later
Shout out to my lunch Ladies for never giving me awful shit 🤘🏼😂
