My 11yo cousin was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer some years back that took his life at a devastatingly quick pace - Adam Sandler would visit him in the hospital every week for a few months - there were no cameras, no social media posts, no recognition at all - just a super good dude trying to make the rest of a young child’s life a little more enjoyable - my cousin unfortunately passed and I will never forget what Adam did for him 💚💛❤️
Similar story. My bro wasnt well, my aunt worked at SNL, we went to a taping, afer the show, he made time for us. We checked out his rad office overlooking the set. It's insane to think about even now. He's the absolute real deal.
The fact he made his own studio, just to make movies with his friends knowing critics will hate it says everything, grown ups is a fun watch and I find most Adam Sandler movies to be great. Uncut gems really showed how much of a great actor he is
I honestly feel like the fact he doesn't really care about critics or if his movies make the maximum amount of money makes his movie feel more genuine. He's just there to have a good time and it shows.
He seems very genuinie and loyal, but I think it's more the fact that those movies, in contrast to his more dramatic ones, come across as cynically produced vacations for him and his friends which are about as comedically substantial a dog on a slip-and-slide.
I grew up on his movies. The critics don't understand that not every film has to be a masterpiece. His movies do everything a movie should do and are very easy to watch
Not all movies have to be masterpieces but let’s not jump the gun too much and do like Disney and marvel where they rush out a bunch of half assed movies just to make money
@@BARON.SAMEDI. I think it's better that you can seperate the art from the artist. In this case for Adam Sandlers, it's reverse where the art is bad, but the artist is a down-to-earth guy. I am aware that most of his films are cheesy and hit-and-miss, but it's hard to hate Adam Sandler as a person.
If I recall this is late in a string of largely forgettable comedies he was in. I do remember his performance being particularly good late in the film. I think there were a lot of movies from that timeframe that didn't get mentioned at all.
I used to be critical of Sandler when I was younger too. But I realized some things as I got older. I realized that he was just interested in doing what he loved. What he wanted. And I think that is what confused people about him, his authenticity. He wasn't afraid to fail, he just tried things and had fun regardless of the outcome and he's always been so open to opportunities, without losing himself in the process. I have major respect for him.
@@Hello-no7gm you know man sometimes trying to please people and live up to some arbitrary standard is what makes people unhappy. you sound very concerned with end results. maybe take a look inward.
@@allthingsminifig9263 I’m saying the guy that left the comment didn’t watch the full video. Because there is clearly commentary. But yeah I do hearing problems.
He seems so genuinely wonderful and yet insecure about his work, which makes him even more genuine in my opinion. People say he can’t act, I believe acting is only good if there’s a genuineness behind it and that’s what he has and that’s what everybody else envies.
Adam once said he isn't really an actor. He just goes out and tries to be himself. It's why so many of his characters seem similar. The best actors don't have to pretend what they are feeling or portraying. They just do it because they have felt it, and its familiar. Maybe the reason people don't think he can act is because he isn't acting. He's just repeating what he knows from his life, and people are so used to seeing someone "acting" like they understand those feelings...when someone comes along who isn't acting, but feeling those feelings, they get confused.
@@JBackkkkk But that girl implying he played loser characters when they were talking bout hustle type movies for example, is kinda crazy how some woman have 0 empathy...
real tears over here. I feel like he’s one of those actors who nobody realizes is important until too late. I was raised on his movies while simultaneously being told he wasn’t funny! Talk about a paradox. Regardless, he has made me laugh and cry. So I will sit here and cry shamelessly. Love this man
@@gatchrocks The Paradox is that as a kid you have little to no agency regarding the sort of media you're exposed to, thus; the one's showing them the movies are also the ones claiming that they're not that great. Anyway Adam Sandler became undeniably brilliant to my mind after I watched Uncut Gems for the first time, good to see that he's such a sweetheart in his other media appearances as well :)
I've always had a lot of respect for Adam, because no matter how high he flies, he's always been just some guy. He's always down to earth, doesn't take himself too seriously. Always had the sense that he's the same man on and off the camera
Bro I had RUclips autoplay on my tv. Went to sleep and woke up with this on thinking I was watching a cable documentary. This is so well edited. Never been so intrigued by a documentary before. Keep it up man!

Honestly, I’ve never really been a fan of Adam Sandler’s movies but there’s no denying his impact on our culture. He’s a really terrific guy and a positive influence off the screen and I’m glad he’s around and receiving recognition for his accomplishments.
It’s the paradox of critics vs fans. The paradox of what people consider to be typical Hollywood stars (egotistical a holes) vs what Adam Sandler seems to be (a down to earth and genuine person). A paradox of a comedian/comedic actor vs a serious actor. There are plenty of paradoxes to consider.
Ive never understood some of the hate Adam received by the media. Was it because he wasn’t Hollywood looking? Hollywood material? Not fitting in as Hollywood actor? Adam is my hero. He is so humble and generous.
@@dwightkurtschruteiii4491 Very true but he loved doing them and has no regrets. He cares only about enjoyment and entertainment for himself and others around him. Truly a legend.

adam is evidence that a good director can celebrate someones image, their identity, their personality, their lived experience- and express it artistically. american media employed adam sandler as their routine court jester, but the safdie brothers painted him like jan matejko painted stańcyzk. no matter where he was, the guy lived his art and there is somrthing admirable about that, and theres no harm in being grateful that we got to share in someones story in that way.
It's probably in large part because he had caring and supportive parents himself. It's really sad how rare that seems to be. Most people I know have severe mental issues from the way their parents treated them.
@@bananawitchcraft Excellent point. I believe it is easier to give a lot of love, if you are recieving a lot of it yourself, especially early on. That base in life is the best and most important thing to give to children. I've had the fortune of experiencing it myself and now I try to give it to others whenever I can. No matter how hard I try, I never seem to run out. The importance of being a loving parent cannot be understated.
What people failed to recognize is that Adam Sandler didn’t break from the backlash because he did his movies out of passion and not out of an inability to do something else. Kudos to the video sharing the near entirety of the context behind an actor many will celebrate and remember fondly.
Nah he made them for money because they were making him millions. I'm pretty sure he knew they were trash himself. If he had passion he would star in more serious roles, something he clearly has talent for
@@tmsplltrs Being talented at something doesn't mean you should have passion for it. He said it himself that serious roles drained him and that he didn't want to do too many of them. But to correct you about the money part, dramas make more money then comedies, if he was truly only doing it for the money he would have stopped making comedies after people kept saying his movies were bad
Sandler is a talentless greedy Jew who got where he was via Jewish nepotism in Hollywood. Nothing more nothing less. He made them for money lmao. Passion? What passion? The movies he got big off it were universally known as pathetic.
Adam is a gem. Inside and out he seems genuine and there is something so pure about him wwnting to be a comedian like the those who mada his dad happy and laugh. I'm sure so many of us have wonderful, happy memories tied to Adam's movies, they bring a comfort. Lots of nights I put then on just to relax and sleep. 😊
As an 80’s child, I’ve long felt like Adam Sandler was misunderstood and maligned by modern audiences. Winning the 90’s makes it damn certain the 2010’s and 20’s are going to tear you to shreds, but somehow this guy just keeps on doing his thing. What a heartwarming and touching examination of his life. It’s like I knew I liked the guy even if not all his movies are for me, and here you showed me in great detail why that was warranted. Thanks! You’re a truly gifted presenter
I was born in 2000 and I was raised off of his movies and still find joy in his classics but also I find myself watching new movies just cuz he's in them I could never understand why my generation doesn't have the same love for him
He's always been liked by the same people. He has always had a niche in audiences heart. Critics opinions, however, tend to be those history remembers. He always gives 110% and sometimes its someone trying to hard to make that happen. But still, when you are at the lowest points in your life, even his 'worst' films will cheer you up.
The problem with sanders is that he didn't really grow up from the nineties. The times changed, humour changed. But Adam didn't. That's why his comedies don't work anymore

Grown Ups is one of the best feel good movies I have ever seen. I don't know if anyone can even mention anything that is as that one. There is no sadness, no real drama, it's just some friends hanging out having fun, true definition of a feel good movie!
Adam is so down to earth, like starting a company just to keep his best friends all together, and doing films with them just for fun and cos he can rather than to make money. His love for his parents makes him truly appreciate the family he has at the moment and they're gonna grow up saying how amazing a dad he was
Adam might just be my favorite actor, his comedies are absolute classics, his dramatic acting abilities are phenomenal, and on top of that he’s just a genuine guy. No smoke and mirrors putting on a face for the public. He’s just a guy, an amazing one at that. I have nothing but respect and admiration for him and I wish more actors would be like him.
@@heckinharvey For awhile it was cool to hate on Sandler, and saying you liked him was like saying you liked Nickleback. At this point it seems like the tide has turned

This is the first video I’ve seen on this channel and I love that he let the story tell itself. It wasn’t just stealing footage and talking over it. It was done amazingly
It's my first watch from this channel as well and I immediately had to jump to the comment section afterwards to check if anyone mentions this. Great editing skills. Not many people are able to tell stories like this, from already broadcasted material, without giving comments themselves. And I feel like there was not a single comment after the advertisement.
I think that the thing about Adam is that he's very wholesome, not necessarily super funny, but his humor is very chill and I feel good while watching it
Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore were HILARIOUS if you were a young kid/teen when they came out in the 90s. ..and that nostalgia is why I've continued watching his movies over the years even though they aren't really up to my standards as far as comedy. I can watch a newer Sandler movie, not laugh out loud once, and still enjoy myself. I just like the guy.
@@kyleolin3566 The first Grown Ups movie will always have a special place in my heart, because it felt so genuine. Just a bunch of dads having a blast filming goofy stuff. I will always enjoy it.
You can tell through Sandler's acting that he understands the human condition - his characters often call it like it is. Even with his more serious roles, the characters portray the reality of the broken or cheated man and how it often happens in real life.
My dad only had three movies on DVD growing up and we rotated them- I grew up on Waterboy and never even realized all the hate he received. I have always adored Adam Sandler and everyone I have seemed to talk to feels the same way?! This video was amazingly crafted and I didn’t know I could love him more but I certainly do! Awesome upload
Even some of Sandler's cheesier movies have enduring moments that stick with me. I can't think about Click without tearing up because it reminds me so much of the shaky relationship with my own father, and as we struggle to find common ground as father time passes us by. Sandler will forever be one of the greats and one of the most underrated drama actors
@@nos4me It's also a really powerful and totally universal theme. A lot of us could wish we had a clicker and could fast forward moments (such as your job), and yet when we see that power abused it causes us to worry that we're wasting our lives. It's a pretty good movie and get me at the end, too. It should have been more popular.
His Happy Madison movies with his style of humor def not my thing either but I respect him just using the movies as business excuses to go around with friends in cool places lol. Think other writers and directors know how to work with him super well in both comedy and tragedy. Uncut Gems for example has funny moments but it's really fucking depressing, sometimes because the guy he's playing is bonkers. Not in the usual Sandler sense but the actor is used flawlessly
When he talks about his dad it just gets me because my dad is everything to me and he's getting older. What a great video. No commentator, just letting Adam's story play out.
Just cherish the time you have with your dad I lost my dad in 2018 it would have been his 88th birthday yesterday but still there is not a day that goes by that I don’t think about him
That’s a (unintentional I’m sure) big insult to Adam. He can act dramatically quite well. Thomas Kinkade is an absolutely terrible artist with no artistic vision, substance, or creativity

What you COULD say is that Thomas Kinkade was an absolutely terrible *person*. But that has nothing to do with his art.
The thing I think that gets overlooked is that even though all his movies are silly and a little slapstick, they all have really serious undertones and usually have a really deep, tear jerking moment or two

Adam is an excellent actor, not just because I am a huge fan, but because he excels in what his movies set out for. The perfectly fit trash humor in grown ups, the comedic drama in Hustle, the struggle in uncut gems. I am truly inspired by him and happy to say he is one of my idols.
Goddamn that part around 5 minutes really hit hard. I literally just lost my dad today and he’s right, anyone who still has a dad better spend as much time with him as possible
I'm so sorry to hear you lost your dad. It's such a hard loss. I lost mine 8 years ago to cancer and I miss him every single day. The algorithm of life will bring you to healing things, like it did to this video, when you really need it, just remember to look for them! Again, my genuine sympathies go out to you. 🤍
I lost both my parents 6 months ago. It’s not easy man, keep your head up and keep moving forward. Any chance you can talk about them take it, to strangers, to friends, anytime you get reminded of them and have an ear to listen talk about them. It’s okay to be mad, sad, scared, lonely, uncertain, wanting to run away from life, and any emotion you may feel. It’s all valid and it all has a purpose. For your sake and theirs, don’t turn to substance abuse. It’s okay to have a few drinks or whatever your vice is, but don’t let it consume you. Make decisions that they would be proud of, and that make you proud of who you are. Give yourself time too, I would recommend not making any rash decisions like getting a new job, moving to a new town, breaking up with a partner, or anything like that. Give yourself atleast 6 months before you make any major decisions like that and communicate with the people you care about. Idk what to do myself but I can tell you that you’re not alone. You lost a father, or people lost a husband, son, friend, cousin, coworker, or whatever capacity they knew them in and you’re not the only one feeling pain. Let it out into the world and heal.
Very sad to hear, I hope you can find some peace. The only positive thing I can think of, is that the memories that will make you feel sorrow now, will slowly but surely change. There will always be some amount of sorrow, but the joy of those memories will slowly come back as well. I wish you all the strength and courage for the future.
Oh man I am so sorry. I lost my dad when I was 12 and it really is the worst. I do wish more than anything I had gotten to spend more time with him and would have loved to have known him in my late teens or early twenties even because I would've gotten to appreciate him as a true friend then rather than just an adult father figure. I'm 37 now and my mom is my best friend, and I can only imagine my dad would've been too. I hope you are able to rest and allow yourself time to heal during this difficult time. Remember you can still talk to him, whether you believe in that type of stuff or not. Sometimes it just helps to say something out loud even if you aren't expecting an answer back.
Damn. My condolences to all of you. Both of my folks are still around but my dad isn’t well. It’s one of those things that will just keep getting worse and worse and honestly, it’s getting pretty hard to deal with. I hope we can all stay strong for them.
There’s no paradox, but it started with a good family, then continued with hard work and dedication, and ended with commitment to family and friends. An excellent example of how to be successful.
I think it's that we recognize "character growth" and aspects of the hero's journey in his journey and aspects that we ourselves as individuals aspire to.

Uncut gems is one of the weirdest movies to get snubbed from almost every big award nomination. It's got universal praise from critics and audiences across the board. Rave reviews about the story, directing, acting, editing. It's scores on Rotten and Meta are 91 which is crazy high, especially for meta. It garnered a large cult following pretty much immediately, with celebs even congratulating Adam and the directors on such an achievement. And yet not a single Oscar, Golden Globe, SAG, nomination. Absolutely wild. The directors also did the movie Good Time, which also received universal praise but once again, not a single nom. It just seems strange. I wonder if they have enemies or something involved in these award shows.
Its primarily because of Sandler's reputation, a lot of Academy think they're "too good" for his low-brow comedies (and to be honest, some of them are truly awful). Its the same reason Eddie Murphy lost the Oscar for Dreamgirls, because the Academy couldn't get over Norbit. It does suck, but Sandler did get a SAG nom for Hustle, and he's got another movie coming out soon with the guys who made Uncut Gems, so I think he'll get nominated for (and maybe even win) an Oscar at some point in his life. He certainly deserves it.
i’ve wondered about this too. maybe their day will come, but by that time, i’ll be saying, “yeah yeah, they should’ve won that for good time.” so, oh well
Maybe Adam simply wont sell himself out to the big guys behind the scene, to get a reward/nomination... Let this sink in: actors who NEVER went to an acting school/school of the arts got 10 times more fame than Adam: Brad Pit, Johnny Depp, Jennifer Lawrence, Jim Carrey etc, and yet Adam who did, barely got any recognition at all... Call me a conspiracy theorist, but if this makes sense to you, I have no words...
I grew up with his movies, and i loved his movies and roles so much that just seeing his face made me happy. I hope he knows how much he’s adored, he made me smile and laugh so much and i wish him all the happiness in the word.
Uncut Gems was such a masterpiece. The anxiety it gives. The chaotic nature throughout the entire film. I really enjoy the Safdie Brothers and I really enjoy Adam. Such a brilliant movie.
honestly I thought he was just an overrated comedy actor until watching uncut gems. Now… I dont know, now I just wish that his potential was fully utilized by more scripts
Sure some of his movies are cheesy but he's still one of the GOATs, a standup guy, great parent, and I can personally attest that movies like Happy Gilmore had me cracking up as a kid. It's also how I bonded with my mom's best friend's daughter, we loved watching his movies and cracking up/mimicking them together. She's still my best friend to this day and I'm 34.
I can't tell you how many times I watched Bedtime Stories as a kid. It was a big chunk of my childhood, and I thank Sandler for that. Wouldn't be the same movie without him.
I never realized that when I was a kid, I could always count on Adam Sandler to make me laugh. And now as an adult I can count on him to make me laugh AND cry.
There is nothing in this world that can replace renting an Adam Sandler family comedy from the dvd store in the 2000s going to your friends or girlfriends place, ordering a pizza and watching the movie. Adam Sandler is engraved in my heart like the cool uncle of the family! And how amazing was he in uncut gems and hustle recently?
For real though. About 20 years ago, my life consisted entirely of jumping bikes/RC cars, lots of meaty toppings on pizza, and Adam Sandler. I even had an action figure of "Goat Boy" from SNL, and heard rumors around my hometown of Brockton that his grandparents had a house on the west side. Lol. Simpler times.
Adam Sandler is truly one of the greatest actors I've seen on screen and as a person, seen so many stories of him just being genuinely fun and kind with people. I grew up watching a lot of his movies, happy gilmore and grown ups will always be up there for me, he deserves all the praise and love he gets
That's what I love about this guy he never pretends to be something he's not, he's not a Hollywood snob and seems to be the most down to earth dude many can relate to. I mean everyone at some stage in their life has said "I really don't want to grow up" and he's living proof that you don't have to.
Adam Sandler is a legend to me. He makes shitty silly movies and knows it but doesn't care because he just wants to have fun with his friends and make things that are fun for him and his fans. That on top of his incredible performances in punch drunk love and uncut gems, he's that dude. Great video
10:54 onwards immediately contradicts this, and from the sounds of it, he became a comedian to make his dad happy. A bit earlier he said that he said he loved the comedians his dad would show them, and Adam wanted to be just like them because they were making his dad happy and he wanted to make his dad just as happy too.
I didn't see Meyorowitz Stories, but Uncut Gems is the movie that reversed my opinion of Adam. I'm in no hurry to watch his 90s comedies, but I will *never* be disparaging about his acting again.
I am a 90s kid and grew up with Adam Sandler movies. The phrase living legend is sometimes wasted. Adam Sandler is a living legend. As I matured, I was greeted with his serious roles. Reign Over Me is one of the most heartbreaking and beautiful depictions of grief. I didn't know his father had passed, knowing this now gives a great deal of context for his performance in Click. Click has some rather unfavorable reviews, yet I regard it as one of his best films, I dare say that it is masterful. Last note, I was surprised there was no mention of funny people, never minding that, you did an absolutely tremendous job on this video. Thank you.
Had me in tears at the end there. It's always a heartwrencher when other industry veterans are singling you out specifically for your hard work. Steve Buscemi's line was really touching. Great video piece Dodford!

Adam Sandler is my favorite actor of all time. He helped me get through my rough childhood with his comedies and idk how to explain it but his movies inspire me to be like him. Humble, genuine, an actual human being; just an awesome person all around. I would be sad if I never got a chance to meet him before either him or i die. He’s someone I wish I was friends with growing up because life would of been an adventure with what he’s accomaccomplished
My family thought he was always hilarious and his comedy has aged pretty well compared to literally 97% of comedians out during his time because he was always making fun of himself instead of consistently punching down like everyone else in the 90’s
Maybe his comedy was already bad in the past, but it definitely has not aged well either. Have you seen any of them recently? It's hard to make it 2 minutes. It's shocking that a grown man can just act like a mentally challenged baby, with all the grace and talent of literally any human being ever to live who has acted "goofy", and become a Hollywood mega ultra super star known around the globe, with hundreds of millions of dollars. It really is about striking it lucky; most of these celebrities are not special in the slightest.
This is the first of your videos I've seen and I have to congratulate you on managing to tell a whole story almost completely with editing clips together and rarely ever actually speaking super impressive stuff.
My mom introduced me to Adam Sandler when i was 8, she’s a mexican immigrant barely spoke english but absolutely loved his comedy’s. Been a fan ever since. This man’s a legend and the loyalty he shows for his friends is absolutely amazing. He seems like a genuinely good dude
Everyone has that movie that they just can't forget and love, even if a lot of others don't like it. For me, it's 50 First Dates. Drew & Adam were lightning in a bottle, and that story just hit me so hard. Here's to Adam, and decades more of whatever side of his talent he wants to show us.
Wow. As a lifetime fan of Adam sandler, this video was just great. I really love how you allowed him to tell his own story. So beautiful. Wasn't expecting to cry this morning, but here we are.
One of the all time greats. I grew up watching his films and will forever be grateful for that. Never in any controversy, stayed loyal in a marriage for 20 years while being in Hollywood which is more than most can say. Never political. Donated millions to good causes and made millions laugh. Under appreciated and deserves all his flowers. Great video
I love Adam Sandler so much, he’s always reminded me of my dad. My dad and I went to the Adam Sandler tour last year and at the end of it Adam shows a slide show of his earliest work to his most recent and then says “thanks for growing old with me” and because of how much I’ve always thought of him and my dad so closely, I was holding back tears.
Adam is truly a great down to earth guy, just went to one of his shows recently and he gave a birthday gift to someone in the front row of the audience, just because he could

The fact he made his own studio, just to make movies with his friends knowing critics will hate it says everything, grown ups is a fun watch and I find most Adam Sandler movies to be great. Uncut gems really showed how much of a great actor he is

I grew up on his movies. The critics don't understand that not every film has to be a masterpiece. His movies do everything a movie should do and are very easy to watch

He's just repeating what he knows from his life, and people are so used to seeing someone "acting" like they understand those feelings...when someone comes along who isn't acting, but feeling those feelings, they get confused.

adam is evidence that a good director can celebrate someones image, their identity, their personality, their lived experience- and express it artistically. american media employed adam sandler as their routine court jester, but the safdie brothers painted him like jan matejko painted stańcyzk. no matter where he was, the guy lived his art and there is somrthing admirable about that, and theres no harm in being grateful that we got to share in someones story in that way.

Exactly. Good video but shit title.
Exactly, no paradox. Huge difference from a BIOGRAPHY
Mainly his brother always believing in him and encouraging him to stick at comedy
Yeah but the word paradox gets click bait viewers
The paradox is how an original and great actor is seen as a bad actor by many.

I think it's that we recognize "character growth" and aspects of the hero's journey in his journey and aspects that we ourselves as individuals aspire to.
@@throwacnt7603exactly. He is a great person for young people to look up to because of his values as a family man and a professional. A whole new appreciation for Adam after watching this, he truly will forever be one of the greats him and his co stars that he kept in all his movies had an unmatched comedic vibe a very talented bunch who made incredible movies together I’m so glad I’m alive in this era of film ❤️
I know what a missed opportunity. That movie is one of the best movies ever made.
He certainly deserves it.
i’ve wondered about this too. maybe their day will come, but by that time, i’ll be saying, “yeah yeah, they should’ve won that for good time.” so, oh well
Award shows are a corporate circle jerk.
Nowadays they mean nothing. Be happy that the movie got such immense praise, as that much is enough.
This is honestly one of the best edited mini documentaries that I have ever seen on youtube. That ending was amazing.
The ending sealed the deal for me, so original, that ending hit me in the face, like life, totally unexpected, so fucking real.
@@FlunchzProductionZ ending was terrific man!
honestly I thought he was just an overrated comedy actor until watching uncut gems. Now… I dont know, now I just wish that his potential was fully utilized by more scripts
I hate that movie so much but ok its subjective ig
@@user-vr8fs8gg6h honestly, everyone I know either absolutely loves it or can’t stand it at all. Haven’t heard anyone say “oh it was okay”
"as a kid"... it came out 2008... Fuck I'm getting old.
Oh my god I forgot about that movie!!
I watched it just the other night lol, love that movie one of my favorite sandler flicks
My kids love it
@@YehNahYehAyyright bro. Came out when I was in high school. Now I got four kids
I'm pushing 30, and Adam Sandler has made me laugh and cry for as long as I can remember. Woefully underappreciated by critics.
Critics and Hollywood doesn’t like a guy like Adam, but the massive audience that loves him does not lie.
Hustle was amazing dude one of my favorites
For real though. About 20 years ago, my life consisted entirely of jumping bikes/RC cars, lots of meaty toppings on pizza, and Adam Sandler.
I even had an action figure of "Goat Boy" from SNL, and heard rumors around my hometown of Brockton that his grandparents had a house on the west side.
Lol. Simpler times.
Yeah he was great in uncut gems
Adam Sandler is truly one of the greatest actors I've seen on screen and as a person, seen so many stories of him just being genuinely fun and kind with people. I grew up watching a lot of his movies, happy gilmore and grown ups will always be up there for me, he deserves all the praise and love he gets
That's what I love about this guy he never pretends to be something he's not, he's not a Hollywood snob and seems to be the most down to earth dude many can relate to. I mean everyone at some stage in their life has said "I really don't want to grow up" and he's living proof that you don't have to.
Oh, he's grown up all right. He just never let growing up beat the childlike innocence out of him, like most of us have.
@@cptbaker good point. Him and his dad's relationship seemed wholesome
I didn't see Meyorowitz Stories, but Uncut Gems is the movie that reversed my opinion of Adam. I'm in no hurry to watch his 90s comedies, but I will *never* be disparaging about his acting again.
Calling his work shitty movies is just unfair, I think "Click" is one of the greatest movies has ever made.
@@advancedmonkey7702 I mean to be fair. Adam does make fun of his own movies as well. Doesn't mean he doesn't love them still.

amen bro. from one greg to another

Me too man😢
I am a 90s kid and grew up with Adam Sandler movies.

Honestly though, it feels good to show my feelings. I just need to get used to it, because I never would have considered myself an emotional person a few years ago
That bit with his dad got me right in the feels
I think that's why he did that movie Click. Another film that got dogged in the reviews but I found it to be rather enjoyable. It's both comdedic and tragic, both sides of the traditional theatre play. I recommend watching it if not seen yet.
@@DrWongburger The scene where he is screaming for his son in the rain. That shit hit me when I was really young. When my own father was still alive.

Most videos where people make documentories about other people, they commentate over it so much and inject their opinion so often, it tends to ruin the documentary. What you did here, with your subtle commentary and descriptive words was nothing short of amazing. I have always been an Adam Sandler fan, and always will be. This man makes the funniest, down to earth, most feel good family films of all time. Sandler is a legend.
Maybe it was. That’s the good thing about art, once it’s out there-to each his own.

Everyone has that movie that they just can't forget and love, even if a lot of others don't like it. For me, it's 50 First Dates. Drew & Adam were lightning in a bottle, and that story just hit me so hard. Here's to Adam, and decades more of whatever side of his talent he wants to show us.
I love watching him play the silent underdog. like in Waterboy.. the reminds me of myself
Yess i love Fifty First dates but for me it's the Wedding Singer also with Adam and drew Barrymore ❤

Wow. As a lifetime fan of Adam sandler, this video was just great. I really love how you allowed him to tell his own story. So beautiful. Wasn't expecting to cry this morning, but here we are.
I've teared up over Sandler's films many times, but never did I think I'd be tearing up over Sandler himself. What a great video.
I now know why adam sandler is in so many movies. Its because wheneve someone makes an offer for a role he just gets really excited.
Great video
After many years of ups and downs, Adam has brought great joy to me and my family. What a treasure he is.
Adam is truly a great down to earth guy, just went to one of his shows recently and he gave a birthday gift to someone in the front row of the audience, just because he could
4:29 You can clearly see he felt a bit embarrassed for saying he would do anything his dad told him to do as an adult and a HUGE movie star but he said it firmly because he loves his dad so profoundly and knew his dad would never do him wrong. Adam's dad just sounds like a hell of a guy, and Adam is living proof of that. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
