"I will open my arms and wrap them around you. I am soberish." This is why we love you Liz. There's no one more honest. (Also, it doesn't hurt that you're incredibly talented and awesome.)
My new favorite song by Liz. Took me forever to figure it out but this song is essentially a love song to herself both the sober her and the drunk her. When she says "I am soberish, and I can't make a sound," she means the trueself her soberself can't speak because she isn't fully there at the moment. Makes the final lines about wrapping arms around you refer to herself actually which makes the entire last section all the heavier. Probably the best and most honest song ever written about addiction.
This entire album is FANTASTIC! Welcome back, Liz. And thank you…for the music and for the authenticity. A genuine thing of beauty, and one hell of a woman! ✌️❤️🎶☕️
Dicking around and chickening out is a great rhyme. Just beyond.
Her voice hasn't changed at all. I'm so glad to hear something new from our hometown Chicago girl. :)
I meant to be sober, but the bar's so inviting.
Story of our lives as we gently age into a semblance of amused reason
I missed this voice.

Very worthwhile record! Nobody sounds quite like her.
this is beautiful and unique, catchy and turbulent somehow in its calmness
This is promising. hope the whole album is this good.
It's better,

Generally avoid bars as I'm on herbal maintenance but...
I'd like to say Chicago loves Liz back, but that would be a lie.
