Ideal morning Step 1: get up and go for a swim Step 2: watch Brian Alsruhe while drinking my 4 cups of coffee Step 3: Absolutely destroy a deadlift workout
I did axle deadlifts Saturday. It was actually the first time that I had done conventional axle deadlifts since I ruptured my patellar tendon last October. It was crazy at how low it felt. Ended up pulling 455 for a hard fought single. Also, I bought a Kove for my garage gym last year. Very awesome speaker. Thanks for the recommendation Brian!!!
I’m so grateful for these videos man. Because of covid my gym is closed, my BJJ club is closed, and my kickboxing/kung fu club is closed. I’ve got weights and sand bags at home that I use but the camaraderie is definitely missing. Thank you again for the videos sir!
It seems like you’ve been able to maintain quite a bit of strength despite all of your setbacks, and I imagine you’ve had to work super hard to keep that strength, but...how much of your strength maintenance do you attribute to familiarity and experience with your training?
currently out of commission with chronic quad tendonitis and missing lifting, a lot, but am still tuning in for in 3 months time or something when I can pick up a barbell again.
I’ve only just got an axle bar in the last month. Managed 2 reps on 142.5kg double overhand strapless. I’m terrified of a overhand/underhand as like you said, could be a bicep tendon killer...I’ll still get overall progress by working on the double overhand...right?
I made my own axle at work, now i can deadlift, press etc etc at home, i also have a log... So happy because the fucking gym is closed my country in Holland
I'm curious as you have a background in striking type martial arts as well as grappling... Do you think it would be useful to use your bands to train rotational core and striking strength? For example, adapting the format of "Twisty Bandy Thing" type movements into training powerful strikes such as low/high hooks, uppercuts, various elbow strikes, etc? Rotational strength is valuable for grappling as well of course. Any input? PS: I'm really hoping to learn more about grappling from you in the future.
Bands may be a different thing, but I've generally heard coaches discourage training punches with added resistance because the point of a punch isn't to push something really hard, it's to get a good impact.
A lot of people aren't even allowed to go to the gym, let alone do deadlifts. I love your channel, but it would be nice to see something suitable for the times. As I said, most people are at home with resiistance bands etc.
I took off 5 months in solidarity with my gym members during the first shutdown and I’m still trying to recover from that time off. I put out a corona body weight program that is just about the best bodyweight program on the market for people in your situation brother. I would say check that out because I’m not gonna go back to resistance bands and mess up all the progress that I’ve gained back
It's been two weeks since I placed my Kove order with nothing to show for it except a "label" has been printed. I've gone from supporting the channel to unsubscribed 😡

I love the “come at me bro” glute ham raises
I appreciate the fast pace and to the point action and narrating. The cabin videos. I wish I could help.

Wondering this myself
Upvoted for no straps on axle bar...beast mode grip activated!
Love seeing your videos in my yt-feed again Brian! You are my biggest inspiration
Great job and good to see you training
Do you use a 4” bar as well? A comp we want to do has a 2 and 4” bar.
Grabbed a KOVE speaker from the last sponsored video and I've loved it since
Kona and Nala need their own video.
Love the giant set approach. What shoes are you wearing in this video?

Wish 570 was a joke. You inspire me sir
I did them for the first time, worked up to 405 for sets of 2, My forearms are burning.
Do you feel lod press or axle work is more important. And does axle help carry over to logpress from a strong man point of view
How do you like your ridgebacks? Beautiful dogs
How did you know I just got an axle ?

Do you use chalk on axle deadlifts?
Also, do you train your double-overhand axle deadlift?
Curious why you didn’t fully lock out at top of box jumó.
Low ceilings

Use double overhand till grip fails then use straps to do worksets
Still haven't seen a RUclips video with a dog cameo I didn't like.
Should I do farmers walk on upper or lower body day?
Lower or GPP day
I made my own axle at work, now i can deadlift, press etc etc at home, i also have a log...
So happy because the fucking gym is closed my country in Holland

I dont have an answer to your question but I agree, Id love to see Brian do an MMA series or something similar

@@BrianAlsruheOfficial Can confirm on the bodyweight program. Did not think I would be that destroyed after each one of those.

That’s Kobe’s fault not mine brother, I’m sorry you are dealing with that!
