#Epiphone #Lespaulmodern
Beautiful guitar Rich hope it’s a keeper!
I have this in black graphite. My birthday gift as well. I have two Gibson les Paul’s , one a 2018 traditional, and one a 2021 les Paul classic and both are my favourite guitars. This Epiphone is built fantastic . Sound wise very little between all of them. I ❤ The Epiphone les Paul modern. I also have the sg custom in black and gold it also plays and sounds fantastic.
Look people Epiphone have nailed it, imagine if these guitars had appeared in the seventies? We would all be playing epis now. Just get it.
Happy belated birthday Rich.
Have a great birthday and happy guitar day looking forward to seeing and hearing this guitar live!🙂
Just ordered one in pelham blue like yours. Thanks for reinforcing my decision with a cool video.
Fantastic playing and excellent performance!!!I own that same exactly guitar and it’s amazing all the different great tones you can get!!!Modern yes but I will say it is very versatile!!!Lock tuners and treble bled system in the volume pots 🙏🏻plus a lovey comfort neck!!!
Excellent choice!!!!🔥🎸🙅🏻♂️😎🤘🏻
Dude, your playing in this video is just off-the-charts exquisite. Approaching Zappa and Peter Green levels of brilliance and soul. Bravo! Epiphone should buy you a week's vacation in Hawaii for the number of guitars you have sold for them. Cheers!🤯👍🙏
Thanks!
I have one of these in their Cafe Latte fade, and I think people are sleeping on these guitars as they chase the umpteenth Traditional/Standard. If you want an affordable modern take on a LP style guitar, with coil tapping, this Epiphone is definitely one to get. Ok, the pick-ups are Epiphone's own and you can debate their clarity next to high-end pick-ups or even Gibson pick-ups, but as you demonstrated, they get the job done very well.
Very nice! I was lucky to find one of these secondhand at my local Guitar Center. The one I found is a sweet water exclusive color, blueberry fade. The color was not my first choice but the price was right. I do like it a lot.
Happy Birthday most of all. Beautiful guitar nice playing . Rock on and enjoy.
Belated Happy Birthday!!!
That is a Rock Machine! And then you got all Bluesy and guitar talky in the close... so nice.
I love the color, it reminds me of my first car.
It's a delicious guitar for sure. I'm loving all the tones I can pull out of it.
@@RichBischoff Exactly! Your video showed what a tone monster it can be.
Excellent guitar.
Awesome demo, I just recently picked one of these up too, but in black. Absolutely love it and can't stop playing it. The clean tones are bright and beautiful, and the distorted tones are perfect. Great guitar for the price! I absolutely love the locking tuners!
Great video! I'm seeing advertised at GC the colors of Pelham blue, wine, and then black.
I have one of these in red and it’s an impressive guitar, definitely a keeper. Congratulations!
I walked out of my local guitar center with one of these bad boys after about 3 hours of sampling various instruments earlier this week. This was one of the last ones I picked up, but I’m glad I did, it really is a great guitar. I didn’t expect to like the asymmetrical neck, but it really feels great in hand
Happy (belated) birthday! Enjoy the new guitar - it's beautiful!
Gracias!
Those tuners are some of the best I’ve used in my 40 years of playing.
I just ordered the sparkly red one for my birthday. Looking forward to it
Really cool demo and love this guitar which I have purchased but in Sparling Burgundy a really great guitar. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent! Superb review--straight up, honest, to the point!
That guitar is on my list for the next time I can treat myself too. Looks gorgeous.
It is. Photos do not do the color justice.
Happy Birthday Rich. Nice guitar. I ordered the Epi Joe Bonamassa Lazarus 59. can’t wait to get it this week.
Hey, Jerome, when you get the guitar, can you log back in here and give me your thoughts by hitting reply? I was thinking about pickup up that guitar, too, but I'm not sure it's worth $250 more than the one Rich is playing.
@@steveelling9604 sure thing.
The main reason I bought it was because of the Gibson BurstBucker pickups.
I have an Epi ES339 PRO and an Epi LP Custom PRO, and those Epi ProBuckers are a bit darker / muddier than I wanted.
So when Epi released a 59 with Gibson BurstBuckers with a nice top, I had to get it.
I’m hopeful about this guitar. I’ll let you know how it is once I get it.
@@steveelling9604 I have one on order with Sweetwater also and I can't wait to get it. Joe Bonamassa Is a friend and I have known him for over 15 years and if Joe puts his name to it then it's going to be excellent. Joe works closely with Epiphone to get things right and the Lazarus is going to be fantastic !
I saw the promo for that guitar. Looks like it's going to be a good one!
Happy Birthday 2u, mine is on the 15th of October. The.LP Modern sounds and looks great. I'm considering that guitar as well and of course in the same Pelamn blue / Soft Auqa.
Happy Birthday, that is one nice guitar!
Great playing again Rich and a lovely sounding guitar.
Thanks Jeff!
Very cool bro,nice playing.
I just got the Epiphone Les Paul Classic Worn and love it,this guitar is next and lovin' the colour.
Cheers for definitely selling it to me haha
Super Guitar for the price !!! Bye from Belgium !!! Thanks Rich !!
Rich: Your talent makes every guitar sounds great!
Lookin’ and soundin’ great. Happy Birthday 🎈🎉🎂
Thanks Rich!
Happy Birthday Rich. I have a Cafe Latte fade.....I love the guitar. After seeing yours... I may have to get a Pelham Blue...lol.
I have it in this color..its great..do yourself a favor
Wow it sounds so much like my 2019 Epiphone trad pro 3 plus top LP. Totally different in the back though.
Love the way you make that guitar sing
Thanks!
Well, well well... Happy birthday Rich
I just bought this same guitar based largely on your demo and the value features. I also got it at Sweetwater and at 7lbs 14oz! 😁
You do a good job. Thank you. I’ll be following moving forward.
Picked up one exactly like this a few weeks back from a guy at work who is going thru rough times and can't play anymore. I figured owning 9 guitars, I needed to make it 10 ;-) and I didn't have a LP-type axe so I decided what the heck since he only wanted $500 for it and it was only 3 months old...I pretty much bought it sight-unseen, just knowing Epi's are good guitars. When I saw it I immediately fell in love with the color. Playing it...wow, its nice. Whole different animal than my fenders....
Congratulations birthday boy I had a good feeling you would finally buy one but I own a epiphone les paul modern 2020 graphite black
congrats and happy birthday! She's a beauty!
Nice looking guitar i use .009 on all my les pauls. Being a les Paul player from 1976 on im not a fan of push pull coil splitting or the heal joint cutaway. Just what im not use too or want. Im a traditional les Paul player. Enjoy your guitar. It's nice
Happy Birthday Rich. Enjoy the new flame! :)
Hi Rich, nice guitar, great color. I have an Ephiphone Les Paul (Gold top), they are great guitars at half the price of a Gibson. Funny, I always treat myself with musical equipment for birthdays, and Christmas. We deserve it, lol.
Yes! Yes we do!
Wow! Happy Birthday, Rich, and man.... that thing is a Rock & Roll MACHINE - just like you. LOL What a killer axe, and you showed that. Man... what a guitar! And great playing, as always. And by the way - I live in the Southeast, and the humidity is a killer. Literally. And I've been out to Indiana several times. It gets pretty humid there too, and since we're at the tail end of those hot, wet months... plus with all the rain lately... yeah. I bet it wreaked havoc on that guitar during transit. I'm glad you were able to get it all set up, and re-adjusted.
Yeah, was kind of worried at first, but got it playing good.
My God, what a beautiful guitar, I want one with all my heart, I am from Lima Peru and here, because of the currency, they are a little more expensive, but I am saving to buy one, although I am looking for it, I can not find it in any store, but even so, I will try hard to find it.
Good luck my brother!
I love the Blue . Killer Guitar dude! It Bryan Adam’s good 😂
Really nice Les Paul Rich! Thanks for posting! Congrats and Happy Birthday!
Thanks!
Your playing is superb. I don’t know what rig you’re using but it makes every guitar sound amazing

Nice birthday gift. I think the quality of Epiphone has improved. Hopefully that turns out to be a good one for you.
Beautiful guitar. Congratulations and Happy Birthday
Thanks!
Happy Birthday Rich. Great demo. I have that same guitar and photos do not do justice to the Pelham Blue. Tonal options are amazing. Thanks.
Thanks!
Happy Birthday! Great playing and nice guitar.
Thanks Tom!
Got one in magma burst , at first one fret wire is sticking high but after it got fixed up its a great guitar
Dang slick playing..soul....
Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday Rich!
Thanks!
Had this exact same guitar. Put on a black poker chip and changed the knobs to black speed knobs, looked even better. I eventually sold it to buy a different guitar, but I still miss this one.
It was fantastic quality played great and sounded great. Only issue was a few frets were a little uneven so I couldn't get the action quite as low as I liked with out some buzz.
I must have got a good one. No fret issues.
@@RichBischoff Even better, that really was an awesome guitar and I kick my self for selling it. It holds it's own with any Gibson.
Mine came with shocking fretwork with a damaged 10th fret, tech suggested it was so bad that I return it! Nice guitar otherwise. I spent a some cash on tools and few hours sorting out the frets, now it's great.
@@scod3908 Ouch! I believe you. It really is a lottery with these new Epi's. I have heard a lot of people complaining about the frets. Best thing to do is to buy in person if possible and double check everything before laying down that cashish.
@@hellodrjeckyl aside from the unfortunate hack job that ruined the 10th, it appeared they just pressed the frets in on the assembly line with no further attention. Mine came drop shipped in box straight from the national distributor.
Just need to budget for a proper setup with fret work or negotiate in purchase price. Tech said he’d worked on a few of them and mine was an outlier and warranted a return. I’d expect most should be playable with a quick polish - the frets were just a little scratchy out of the box.
I have same one..same color too and i love love love it!
The majority of the electric guitar tones on my new record dropping soon came from this guitar.
Hey...happy birthday buddy!
Killer outro 👍👏
That's a fresh guitar man. I wanted one in red but they didn't have it anymore so I got the Squire Cabronita instead
That's also a nice guitar.
Sounds killer brother
Thanks!
I didn’t know the other gave you the business. Forgets all previous knowledge of the..
Wow, noice looking Efiddle LP! Throaty beast she is! Truss rod and 10s. Dem pickups.. Middle positch has some cool tonage all of them sound sweet, nasty, and tight.. I see why modern.
Happy day of spawn delayed Rich, don’t poke your eye out! Lol
Sound wise, this matches Gibson. Never was the case. I know I’ve got the sg custom and was going to change the pups and other things. When I got it I was so shocked at how good it was I’m not changing anything. Epiphone are high end instruments now.
Sure sounds great to me. The neck on the other Epiphone... what didn't you like about it?
To thin...
Nice guitar and it sounds like it's going to be a great addition to your collection. I know you like overdrive but maybe you could play clean, really clean for two minutes so we could get a feel for the subtle tones in each position as it would help to hear what the guitar can do. This is the same as these guys that do demos with the amp reverb on 10 or a delay pedal in some ambient mode where you don't know what anything sounds like because it is drenched.
It's my birthday I can play dirty if I want to! 🤣 but yes I agree should have done some cleans...
@@RichBischoff I always enjoy your videos and demos and your not the only one that does over drive demos believe me there are some out there that demo with full thrash metal distortion which does nothing for the tone of the guitar. A few moments of clean will go a long way then go for the dirt. Anyway, happy birthday and keep rockin' !
my god your voice sounds identical to a young john goodman
Yah I just got myself this same guitar, but in the Sparkling Burgandy, both colors are nice, meaning the Pelman Blue. They sell for $859.00 here in Canada, the Gibson version sells for $3699.00, more than 4 times the price of the Epiphone. I also got the Epiphone Les Paul Custom in Alpine white, another great and beautiful Epiphone Les paul, they sell for $969.00 here in Canada, both these 2 Epiphone Les Pauls together are cheaper than a Gibson Studio model, they range in price from $1929.00-$2200.00 Canadian, and they feel cheap compared to my 2 Epiphones, the same goes with the Gibson Les Paul Tribute, it is even cheaper built that the Gibson Les Paul Studio models. If you want the same quality as these 2 High End Epiphones, you are going to have to spend $3000.00 to $7000.00 Canadian for a Gibson Les Paul. Of course we all know that the labor expenses are much cheaper in China than America. But the Chinese have the technology and the machinery to built beautiful awesome guitars today for a budget price. Things have changed over the years. Anyways great playing as always, cheers.....enjoy that beauty! Robert from Alberta, Canada!
Thanks!
Dang! I was going to get that one, but now everyone will think I'm just copying Bischoff (as if I ever play out anywhere anyway)...
I agree about the two-tone - that looks awesome (almost like a PRS).
I'm surprised you had to do anything out-of-the-box. Between guitars for myself and my kids, I've bought about 10 separate guitars and basses, and I think we only had to tune one of them significantly. (Most have a string or two that might be out by 1/4 tone or something; their pre-work on the guitars usually ensures that they are in tune when they arrive and stay that way for a long time.) I bought a 5-string Yamaha bass in April, and it's STILL in tune today from when I bought it.
Sounds good, looks great, and it has just about all of the mods you'd want to do on a guitar. Where'd you find that track?
I think it is from Elevated Jam Tracks, but I don't remember...
Excellent tone. What are you running through? Thnx
Thanks, Line 6 Helix.
Would you reccomend this Epi modern or Ltd ec-256? Rock/metal player, play some blues too.
Epiphone
Hi Rich. My own birthday is in January. This year, I was a bad boy and bought myself a Fender Modern Player Thinline Deluxe Telecaster. Thinking of an SG shape next year (possibly a Harley Benton). My own inclination would be to get it from Sweetwater if they ever marketed anything preowned (which I know is not their practice). Tempted instead to go with one that's available through Reverb (be it Gibson, Epiphone OR Harley Benton) . What is your opinion on that inclination?
I like Reverb. I bet you could find a nice preowned Gibson on there. Either one of those brands is great. I only own one SG style guitar and it's a Harley Benton. Happy Early Birthday!
Happy belated, @@RichBischoff, and many thanks.
I have had great success with Zzounds.. I really have..i like Reverb also.
How does it compare to the Gibson version.
It's pretty dang good. Probably a little more attention to detail on the gibson, but not enough to justify the price.
@@RichBischoff Yeah the price difference is astronomical, good to hear it gets close for 75% less.
Doesn't Sweetwater check them before they're shipped? Unacceptable.
Yea they usually do. I’ve ordered many guitars from them and they always show up amazing:
But I also live 4 hours away. So they don’t sit out for long at all.
“What’s his name” lol
🤣
@@RichBischoff that test is kinda funny. Nice guitar-congrats!
Why can’t you just show the guitar instead of watching you open boxes. It’s such an annoying thing that so many people thing is cool.
You answered your own question.
Happy Birthday!
Thanks Dan!
