Struggling between this model and Epi’s new Muse line - which one sounds better, which is lighter? Need a comparison! Since the specs look pretty much alike apart from Alnico Pro and Probuckers...
I have a Lp studio that came with the same tuners in 2017, and the only advice is the string changing. Maybe it took 2 years before it stayed in tune because it is a Gibson, and the epi is going to be better right off the bat lol. Anyway, again, good job man!
My Gibson LP Studio wouldn't stay in tune even after I put Grover locking tuners on it. My EPI LP Custom Pro (less than half the price of the Gibson, on the other hand,, stays in tune like a champ.
Having played both now, does the Epi play as well as the Gibson? How is the feel? Wish they had a bengal burst with gold hardware model and Grover auto locking tuners. Question do you have a string retainer on the headstock or what is that?
Hey Hunter, thanks for the review. How would you rate the new Epiphone LP Moderns against the Harley Benton SC-550s? Are the Epiphones worth the extra money? Let's say I don't care much about coil splitting (or I'll wire it myself if I decide to care). Thanks!
Hunter, I trust in your demos and reviews. Thank you for giving us a great reference and resource to go to. I have bought a few guitars after watching your reviews. Thank you for everything you do.
Insert Semi-relevant Dean Cadillac reference / joke here. Look, Fish, you’ve been pumping out way more consistent content since the quarantine. Never thought I’d have to come up with this many Dean Cadillac references and jokes this consistently. (Serious Ask A Fish Question: how do you think recent Geopolitical tensions will affect the future of Chinese made instruments?)
Imagine a les paul with schecter's c1 headstock. Tuning issues solved plus it would still look classy enough for when you want to feel and look like a gent 😆
Aww man, I so want one of those and then I'd get this one. Having said that, gotta sell some gear to get even close to owning either. What's the Iommi SG like, any problems?
I was considering getting one of these, I already have a Gibson LP Standard. I also want a more modern take on the LP but don't want to spend a ton of money. Now that the PRS SE 594 exists, I think it's worth the extra money over the LP Modern.
Great Video! I'm Planning to buy a guitar but I'm having trouble deciding between epiphone les paul modern vs fender stratocaster player plus top HSS x)) which one would u recommend for a neo soul/R&b/jazz player please:)
I'm at the exact same point as you were 😂. I'm torn between the Fender player stratocaster HSS in polar white and the Epiphone les Paul modern in sparkling burg. Have you made your choice?
I’m ordering one.. just have to decide on the color. I normally don’t like red..but that burgundy just screams classy…. Normally I’d go for a flametop but the style that’s offered on the “Figured” version just looks weird. I can’t imagine it being at all desirable if I should ever decide to sell….(IE:Most definitely a flash in the pan!} What I’d really like in a solid color would be a classic Gold Top….
I have the Modern in Pelham Blue, lovely guitar. Will probably put black knobs on it (match the pick guard/pup surrounds). First thing someone said when it arrived was...those knobs look cheap 😂.
In your opinion would it be worth getting the PLEK service for one of these new? I know with the high fret issues that all guitars under a grand these days it seems like a no brainer.
A guitar is only as good as the person playing it. Blaming pick ups, wiring, strings or fretboard material is a total cop out. I've been playing the guitar for 45 years. Sure...I have my preferences. From string heights to string gauges. A good guitar player can play anything, anywhere, anytime. No excuses. My guitar teacher told me that many years ago. It took years of practice for me to finally admit he was right. The important thing is to enjoy yourself, try new things and keep learning from your mistakes.
I want either the blue one, the 60's sunburst or the custom. I might wait on the custom if they put out a silverburst down the road. Also interested in the prophecy series.
I would LOVE a silverburst Custom from Epiphone with this headstock. Especially if they actually made it the same burst as the Gibson customs. It’s the only reason I don’t have one. But I too want the Pelham blue in this one. Super cool
I think the biggest thing that typically turns me off to Epiphones is the ears chopped off the headstock. This one though...I could own one. Looks pretty damn good. My biggest thing is playability, and I prefer Schecter myself. I’ve never played a bad Schecter (unless it needed a setup).
Epiphone modern or esp ltd ec 401 which one i should buy or you can suggest me something else under 800 dollars I am into metal and a huge Metallica fan But i also want to try other genres Plz reply
What do you think about the Epiphone les paul modern figured carribean blue fade? Is it the same as this just different colors? Great video btw i was shocked when i saw your sub count you deserve way more, great videos man thank you for giving us content during quarantine
I have been waiting for this forever. I always wanted a Gibson but i just don't want to spend that kind of money. I hesitate between this and the worn purple but since it will be my one and only les paul probably for the next 10 years i feel this lne has that "classic" flagship type.

Struggling between this model and Epi’s new Muse line - which one sounds better, which is lighter? Need a comparison!
Since the specs look pretty much alike apart from Alnico Pro and Probuckers...
Nice presentation with the Epiphone...Maybe the best mix ive heard from you..Stay hard fish!
Sick! Also I need that link for your signature model
Looking into a new guitar for metal and was considering this one. Great review.
my next guitar- which colour to choose. Thanks for excellent review.☮🖤🎸🎶
Hey Hunter, thanks for the review.
How would you rate the new Epiphone LP Moderns against the Harley Benton SC-550s? Are the Epiphones worth the extra money?
Let's say I don't care much about coil splitting (or I'll wire it myself if I decide to care). Thanks!
I’m disappointed you never got an answer from anybody on here. Have you picked up anything ?
I have a couple 450’s and waiting on an epi. Hopefully I remember this question a d come back to fill ya in.
No, I never bought either
@@michaelsteffeck6114 have you bought anything yet ?
Hunter, I trust in your demos and reviews. Thank you for giving us a great reference and resource to go to. I have bought a few guitars after watching your reviews. Thank you for everything you do.
compared to the epiphone custom, which one has the better neck?
I love that biting tone distorted.
should i buy this modern or custom? Which one you prefer?
Insert Semi-relevant Dean Cadillac reference / joke here. Look, Fish, you’ve been pumping out way more consistent content since the quarantine. Never thought I’d have to come up with this many Dean Cadillac references and jokes this consistently. (Serious Ask A Fish Question: how do you think recent Geopolitical tensions will affect the future of Chinese made instruments?)
Imagine a les paul with schecter's c1 headstock. Tuning issues solved plus it would still look classy enough for when you want to feel and look like a gent 😆
Bought my second Epiphone yesterday. Tony Iommi sg !☠️☠️☠️
Aww man, I so want one of those and then I'd get this one. Having said that, gotta sell some gear to get even close to owning either. What's the Iommi SG like, any problems?
It’s a dream . Bought if off a guy in Asheville nc. Sounds great, plays even better. He bought it from Sweetwater
Fantastic Epiphone !! Metal sound incredible !! And biutiful color !!
Man those split coil tones keep getting better and better each year. Love the content.
I was considering getting one of these, I already have a Gibson LP Standard. I also want a more modern take on the LP but don't want to spend a ton of money. Now that the PRS SE 594 exists, I think it's worth the extra money over the LP Modern.
Dude great track and video. That fresh cut tho looking superb
@@JHendrix46 hahah i haven't bought mine yet but I already made my choice and I'm going for the fender :) Wbu?
I’m ordering one.. just have to decide on the color. I normally don’t like red..but that burgundy just screams classy…. Normally I’d go for a flametop but the style that’s offered on the “Figured” version just looks weird. I can’t imagine it being at all desirable if I should ever decide to sell….(IE:Most definitely a flash in the pan!} What I’d really like in a solid color would be a classic Gold Top….
Check the Caribbean color its a beauty i have it :3
What did you go with?
It's been two years now. Has your opinion on it changed any?
When you say this is the best non-special edition ELP, do you think the new '59 ltd edition (or some other special edition still available) is better?
Badass riffing there man. Great work.
Finally chunky song for inroduction. Latest ones weren't yout level but this one is dope
Dang. Gotta say, your playing, recording, and production is getting pretty dang good! Very nice!
Awesome intro man
Clear knobs on a non-white guitar are a big no. I would go with Black chrome tops on that guitar. That would look great.
I have the Modern in Pelham Blue, lovely guitar. Will probably put black knobs on it (match the pick guard/pup surrounds). First thing someone said when it arrived was...those knobs look cheap 😂.
How do you feel the Modern campatrs to the Aria 3200 single cut? I like the Modern but the 3200MMC might have an edge? What say you??
In your opinion would it be worth getting the PLEK service for one of these new? I know with the high fret issues that all guitars under a grand these days it seems like a no brainer.
yes
A guitar is only as good as the person playing it. Blaming pick ups, wiring, strings or fretboard material is a total cop out. I've been playing the guitar for 45 years. Sure...I have my preferences. From string heights to string gauges. A good guitar player can play anything, anywhere, anytime. No excuses. My guitar teacher told me that many years ago. It took years of practice for me to finally admit he was right. The important thing is to enjoy yourself, try new things and keep learning from your mistakes.
Amen to that John.
Super cool
Good specs and good looking in that colour; but what were they thinking with those clear plastic control knobs 🤔. Easily replaceable though.
Good review :)
I bought one and love it :)
I think the biggest thing that typically turns me off to Epiphones is the ears chopped off the headstock. This one though...I could own one. Looks pretty damn good. My biggest thing is playability, and I prefer Schecter myself. I’ve never played a bad Schecter (unless it needed a setup).
Been waiting for this review.
Nice video, great playing.... however, guitar straight to the amp, no extras. That gives us the true flavor of the guitar.
You actually had some nice post rock meets sparkly pretty stuff vibe going. I dig it.
great riffs! sounds as good as half the bands out there! keep rockin!!!! :)
Hi, to my eyes seems the modern is a bit larger than the epiphone custom. can you confirm this?
It's not. I have both.
I already pre-ordered this in cafe latte fade.not supposed to be in for a month or so still(covid delaying alot right now😥)beyond stoked!
Epiphone modern or esp ltd ec 401 which one i should buy or you can suggest me something else under 800 dollars
I am into metal and a huge Metallica fan
But i also want to try other genres
Plz reply
What do you think about the Epiphone les paul modern figured carribean blue fade? Is it the same as this just different colors? Great video btw i was shocked when i saw your sub count you deserve way more, great videos man thank you for giving us content during quarantine
I have been waiting for this forever. I always wanted a Gibson but i just don't want to spend that kind of money.
I hesitate between this and the worn purple but since it will be my one and only les paul probably for the next 10 years i feel this lne has that "classic" flagship type.
Those are some surprisingly useful out-of-phase tones.
Single coil, not out of phase.
@@216trixie also out of phase that is what the third push pull knob does.
@@xdisciple2776x ohhhh thx
Dude, your opening song was awesome!
