Ingredients :
--500 ml Milk ( UltraPasteurized OR Pasteurized Milk)
Please see all the methods as the procedure is different for all of them
--1 TBSP Yogurt cultured
This method explains , how to make curd (or Dahi ), Indian style yogurt in instant pot using Pasteurized and ultraPasteurized milk. I have used 3 kinds of milk in this recipe, the first one is A2 MILK, FAIRLIFE WHOLE MILK, and Costco Pasteurized Milk.
This is cold start method so no boiling, no steaming is required to make curd. If you want to make flavored yogurt than you can add cream , sugar and flavoring into it and it will make the same consistency yogurt.

I did exactly same way, my yogurt turned out best . I tried with ultrafiltered milk from walmart and it turned out very nice texture and creamy in taste.Thankyou for sharing your idea. ❤❤
Thank you just tried this. And it came out perfectly. Had been struggling with making dahi in the US
Is the non-boiling method suitable for unpasteurized milk?
Which yoghurt is good for starter in usa?
What is that little metal handle thing you use to place the bowl into the instant pot called?
Can you mix the table spoon of cultured yogurt to cold organic ultra pasteurized milk? There is no need for the milk to be in room temperature right? Lastly, horizon/A2 or any ultra pasteurized should work, correct?
When do you recommend adding in the flavorings, such as vanilla and sweetener? Before or after incubation?
I have never made flavored yogurt but if u want to make add after everything is done
Dont add before
Nidhi, I tried this. For some reason the texture does not come out the same as boiled, cooled down method. I felt it's little different. When I boil the texture and taste is more like India yogurt. I do once and twice and then go back to my traditional boil method.
Have you used ultrpasteurized milk?
And what starter did u use? I have been making this way frm past 7 mnths and it turns out as perfect as the boiled once everytime
What is difference between ultra pasteurized, regular pasteurized and ultra filtered milk? Thank you
Please google for more details..its long explanation
hello , can you tell if we have no option of yogurt ( i have duocrisp instant pot) then what option should we use ? tia
This article may help
ruclips.net/video/hbbUF9P-o4g/видео.html
I think in that you can use sousvide option.
Hi Nidhi. I tried with a2 milk and got the dahi starter from the Natural Dahi we get at Indian store. I didn't get any result. Only thing I did different was that I used the inner steel pot directly.I used 1 litre of a2 milk with around 2.5 tbsp of starter.
the issue is with the starter you used, its not the procedure issue
the store bought curd even if its from indian will not work for this recipe
@@Nidhicooks so how do I get the starter ? You mean the all natural Dahi that we get at Indian store wouldn't work as a starter.
@@Nidhicooksit worked for me!
What container did you use? I'd love to buy one
Those r frm costco
great but how do you get the specimen from previous batch, without a first batch...
If u dont have a curd from the previous batch thn u can definitely use any plain yogurt with active culture
Fage yogurt works the best
the yogurt from indian store works the best
For culture, which yogurt you used..Can you pls tell that..it will be useful
Thats the common question i get 😃 when i dont have starter i usually get frm my indian neighbors , i tried from the super market bt nthing worked for me
There are high chances that the curd from indian grocers should work
Ok..Thanks
ohh dear i am nt sure about vegan curd..but will definitely share that on my channel so stay tuned
@@Nidhicooks I will definitely stay tuned. :) Thank you.
sure
Thanks for your guidance
I will buy UHT to make the first recipe yougart
Can I try the third Mehod with my pasteurised milk
Glad u liked it
Yes definitely u can try with pasteurized milk as well but the end result wont be as good as the UHT
@@Nidhicooks thanks for the sincere advise
You are a ⭐️
Thats so kind of u to say 🤗
What hand mixer u used here ?can I know ?
Hand mixer
I have old model of instant pot and it doesn’t have yogurt mode. Any idea how to make yogurt in it ?
Please refer to thia article www.sparklestosprinkles.com/how-to-make-instant-pot-yogurt-without-the-yogurt-button/
ruclips.net/video/hbbUF9P-o4g/видео.html
Do everything in the initial steps and wrap the covered vessel in a thick towel to blanket and set in a warm part of house- duration depends on humidity, season, I reside in Montana-dry- so I have to wait many hours longer. Before instant pot I would place vessel in oven and leave the oven light on- no blanket required. Don’t turn the oven on, just the switch to the light.
Do we need to use oven safe bowl or microwave safe bowl ?
I recommend oven safe bowl
microwave safe bowl would also work
You can put it directly into the inner steel pot.
@@Spicydoc1 yeah thats also an option
Which state your living. It’s depends on weather also.
I dont think so weather does matter if ur using instant pot
weather condition doesn't matter for instant pot
if u r using ultrapasturised milk thn u will definitely get thick yogurt everytime
What did you add in the spoon?
Its cultured yogurt
ruclips.net/video/hbbUF9P-o4g/видео.html
is the culture you are using is from dahi from india
Yes
Can I use Costco whole milk to do this process?
Do watch the video till the end
Everything is mentioned there
you can use but you won't get as much thick as the ultrapasturised milk
What do you use for starter if you have no previous batch. Thanks
Well i tried all the plain yogurts including indian store and super markets
But nothing worked out for me
I do not have instant pot. Is there another way of making yogurt without boiling milk.
Follow the same recipe and put it ina warm place
Its simple
Make sure to use ultrpasteurized milk
I Never made curd with unboiled milk.In taste wise is there any difference?
U need to use ultrapesturised milk then no need to boil the milk i guaranteed u will get thick curd as shown in the video
No tastewise difference
@@Nidhicooks I’m using Kirkland a2 ultra pasteurized milk.thanks for your quick response.I will surely try this method.
@@lavanyay2358 sure do try it out..let me know how it turns out for u..waiting for your response
Can I make yogurt from Costco 1%low fat milk?
Havnt tried with 1%
Bt it should work if ultra pasteurized
Ive tried, used ultra pasteurized full cream milk with 1tbsp yoghurt on my instant pot, yoghurt setting, did not come out thick. 😔
Which milk did u use?
Did u mix curd properly?
the culture you add that matters a lot..make sure you add active culture
many people tried and they got it
If you live in a dry non humid climate, the fermentation will take longer. Try 12 hours next time.
Do you need that ceramic container?
No u can use any glass bowl
@@Nidhicooks stupid question, lid too. Appreciate you
@@Furtheluvofthepaw lid is not compulsory..if you want you can cover it otherwise it will works without that too.
@@Furtheluvofthepaw make sure to use ultrapesturized milk for this consistency
@@Nidhicooks awesome will give it a try. I'm not a fab of Greek yogurt too tangy so excited to try this recipe 😋thank you
I’m surprised by the 3rd method (regular Costco milk). I never knew you could make yogurt from regular milk without boiling it.
Yeah u can make for sure but the only problem is you cant expect as thick as the Utrapasturised milk
Its a bit runny not super thick
ruclips.net/video/hbbUF9P-o4g/видео.html
I tried the first method. Used the same brand of milk and Fage yogurt as a starter. Did everything as exactly in the video but my yogurt is not thick as yours. It’s runny. There is no difference between the regular method of making yogurt and this method.
If u want indian yogurt thn use indian curd starter which we usually get from indian grocers
Many people tried and they got good results
Trust me try with indian yogurt u wont get disappointed for sure
Sure, I have Indian yogurt at home, I’ll try with that. Thanks for your quick response.
Sure no problem
I don’t think so it’s possible like first method
If u use ultra pasteurized milk then no need to boil the milk, i guaranteed u will get thick curd as shown in vdo
it will definitely work and many people got it..do try it out and let me know
I tried your this recipe and was successful
Now problem is my IP is not working, how can I make it
You can keep the bowl at warm place
