Beautiful plant! I just ordered mine and it was a bargain, I hope it ships well! I think the reason why you can't find any photos of the Birkin in nature is because it's a cultivar and not a species.

Yes Costa farms is doing limited rare plant series... Birkins and rare scindapsus.... Check Walmart and home Depot along with Cosco and Lowe's especially if you live in Florida...Costa farms is releasing limited amounts of incredible species and for cheap less then 20 Dollars a plant... $16.95 seems to be the average cost

Just noticed you're local! I'm in Maryland. Our local Wegmans had a bunch of Birkins this week, so here i am!
I found mine at a not so local grower, but its soooo beautiful!!!! I almost didnt take it home but i absolutely love the pink stema and hiw the leaves sprout and roll out if them. Absolutely beautiful!
Mine has a new leaf that is going to be really striped, but for a philodendron they are such slow growers!! The new leave has been unfurling now for literally months!! When I saw it I was so excited I thought it would be opened in a few days or a week, but two months later it’s still unfurling. My fish bone prayer plant spits out new leaves everyday & they open in literally two days.
Did anyone else see that bug climb up the window blind string?? Why is it cute? 🥰

Planterina's RUclips channel does show a large Philodendron Berkin. They are gorgeous. The leaves are all different as some are green, some are slightly lined, and some are fully lines so it's a very interesting looking plant.

That’s a beautiful birkin with white markings, mine has new leaves without the markings . I tried to put them outside for a morning sunlight hopefully it will bring back their white stripe markings.
Hi there! I think more of a juvenile plant doesn't have as much markings. But no worries soon there will be markings ☺️
the variegation aspect of this plant is unstable but the general consensus is that bright light encourages the white markings

One of my birkins is growing outward spread .the leaves are huge and beautiful. I'm wondering if I should add support ? If yes , what do you suggest..thank you I enjoyed your video
Yeah just fertilize with "blue juice" ....lol the classic all purpose miracle grow mix with water at half strength or just a tad over half, it's a great patio plant here in Florida it enjoys dappled natural sunlight in my experience!!! It definitely enjoys outside on warm humid days so you could try that if you live in the south...love this plant!!!!

I just bought my first birkin two days ago and the leaves are starting to curl inwards T__T~ I did some research it is probably stressed? Has this ever happen to your birkins before? I placed it in the shade at the balcony so I dont think it's getting overheated? Omg I just hope it doesnt die cuz its so pretty!

I'm trying to grow a starter Birkin. She has doubled in size but seemed to slow down, I'm hoping she takes off once Spring hits!
How is it going with your Birkin? I just divided mine and repotted them in two separate pots.
Actually I think they start out striped and lose the stripes as they age, you can see the lower leaves are the older ones and are dark. The top center is new growth and highly striped

No, it's only because those are the juvenile first leaves. The more mature leaves will all have stripes :)

Hi!!! So from having the plant for 7 months now the old leaves loose their stripes but if you have a super baby plant they come in green then develop stripes and then loose their stripes as they get old. Check out the follow up video I posted few weeks ago, I have detailed information based on my experience

Hi, awesome video! I want to purchase but I have heard that they end up reverting to all green leaves, do you know if this is true?
Mine hasn't reverted back and I have had it since January. I have heard pink princess and other plants do but not for P. Birkins. Hmmm...I will have to research that!
I have mine for over a year now and has not reverted back. It's very healthy, had no pests issues so far and still only 30 centimetres tall. My understanding is that it grows to 60 cm max.

How rare is the Birkin? I just got one at a greenhouse for $25 it’s almost a foot tall and is very full.
Girl you are lucky! When I got it in the beginning of last year, it was still above $75+
Can i use self watering pots for Birkin?
I have never tried it but I would make sure the reservoir is not too full and that your soil mixture is airy. So try experimenting with different levels of water to see how it reacts.

Is it actually rare? I see them all the time lol also did say it vines? I was trying to find out if it vines! You're right, not a ton of info out there....
Definitely not uncommon anymore. I mean when I bought it back in January of this year, you could only get them online and I paid I forget like $40+ ...but now HD is selling them for $10 but I will tell you the HD ones don't have as much variegation as the one I bought which was sold as a very mature plant. What HD is selling more juvenile plants still that has some ways to go towards the showy leaves that everyone loves. Mine hasn't vined yet it seems more compact. But let's see how it does

Isit new leaves that are white or old leaves that are white?
New leaves will come out mostly white with green stripes and then darken over time and than change to all green as the leaf ages.

Hi Jazzy! I got it from my local nursery called Merrifield Garden Center in Fairfax. I'm not sure if you are a NOVA local but one time Twins Ace Hardware in Clarendon had it too.
Can i use sand as a Potting?
I have never tried sand, but sand will definitely create air pockets for aeration. You can try and see how the philodendron reacts
