When thinking about repotting a rootbound plant I picture getting a bigger pot each time ending up one day with an enormous pot for every plant. LoL So, in a case like the Birkin that only grows to about 3ft (1m), is it safe to say that once you put it in a pot that's proportionate to its full size you would just prune the roots each repotting? This could very well be common sense, but seems reasonable to question as there's so much out there regarding whether or not to disturb the roots when repotting. I notice that there are really no videos showing the repotting a large plant like a 2m Monstera or the like.

Yea that’s right. You can prune the roots and your plant will actually like it. Don’t cut more than a third off

I was wanting to repot with an aroid mix...bark, perlite, worm castings, bit of charcoal, coco husks, a few lecas...would my birkin like that?

I just water my plant and after watching , I do need to repot. Is it better to wait until it need another watering ? I do notice I need to water more frequently know I try to water once a week or when soil is dry.

Mine has roots that have grown completely around the soil, giving it like a sort of net appearance and it easily comes out in one piece when I pull it out of the nursery pot.. Time for a repot.. Thanks for the video!

Hi, how to propagate a Birkin? I got one from the garden centre about 6 months ago, and he was doing very well until 3-4 weeks ago when his leaves started to get yellow. i stopped watering it, roots are healthy and not rotten, I changed his soil and the leaves are still turning yellow and mushy. Until he dies completely I want to propagate him but not sure what is the best method. do you have a video on this? thanks

Not on a Birkin but I've got one on Brasil. Similar concept. Need to make a cut underneath a leaf node etc

Ok, still at 1:45 and you've already answered my doubt. Thank you! I've had a Philondedron Birkin for 40 days and I can feel that her pot is bulging, and I've seen a root coming out from the top. So yeah, matches what you said. Time for a repot!
