wow. this show has improved a ton!!! They are looking and sounding sharp. Think I dismissed them too early. The guard pulling weapons and flags out of the horns' backpacks is such a cool idea! Those dark unis are still making the marchers look very small on the field (killing their GE, imo), but, man, accurate marching is just so pleasing to see!!!
Yeah that was a big turn off for me about vanguard this year. They placed a big ass speaker in front of where we sat and they were BLASTING the mics on that speaker to where all I could here was the sound coming from it. Lost the sound of the corps from other parts of the field because of it. No other corps that I saw did that.
@Manny888Festo music city was also doing it. I understand instances where you're amplifying a small ensemble, but amping a full hornilne on a hit is just ridiculous and shouldn't be allowed
@@JaydenLacroix-z7e well it’s permanent. Cant really do anything about it. During the rule change meetings and votings before the 2023 season Crown challenged the use of individual mics on non soloists on the field and it got denied. Instead of complaining about how it used to be better, isn’t it more productive to encourage the ensembles to get better at using the technology they have access to and make the distinction of sound from the speakers less prominent? If it’s not changing there’s no point letting that hold you back from enjoying the experience of watching drum corps. It’s a miracle the activity is still around at all at this point with the individual costs of members and running an organization or even with how prevalent sexual violence and harassment is within drum corps. It’s absolutely ridiculous that people drone on and on about speakers and electronics and uniforms and props, buddy, there’s members and kids and adults and staff and volunteers getting assaulted under the watch of DCI every single day and you’re whining about speakers? Are you kidding me?
Perfect example when the visual team has been allowed too much authority to make decisions. These uniforms/costumes are horrific at best. The colors will look bad on all fields regardless of what camera is used t record the show. There is some nice percussion writing and performing, the music book I am not sure about with first hearing, but some interesting and very musical moments. Change the uniforms/costumes and the overall impact and artistry of the show improves immediately.
The snares need to tighten up. Very dirty, especially at the beginning. Was a cringe moment. I know many people are ripping on Vanguard. I see this as a rebuilding year. The cymbals are a great touch as many corps have not used them in years. A mix of old school and new school.
No offense to the visual guys, but if I close my eyes, I can definitely hear SCV, but, I'm not liking the uniform look. Good Luck in your future endeavors, SCV. ❤🤍💚
Attire? They haven't worn anything resembling their historical unis since 2017? Or are you referring to something else? I've been an avid fan since '74...
I would, because that’s obviously michael gaines vanguard drill. They also sound like vanguard, so why are hats where we draw the line? On top of that, how does it “ruin” the legacy to do something different that current fans love? If you love the old stuff you can still love it just as much unless you’re just unhappy in life.
It's a fair discussion to have, and children who throw "boomer" around like it's an insult need to move out of their parent's basement and develop some original thinking. So here are some observations... This year's visual show is scoring middle-of-the-pack at best. This particular blue uniform/costume does not pop on the field, and nothing stands out as a big visual moment from a design standpoint. So again, middle of the pack, and this is was the judges are indicating by the scores. Fortunately, the drums have picked up where they left off, and should help land them in 6th place. Next year, hopefully a more visually interesting and unique program, which is the legacy I think many people are referring to.
After seeing what DCI has become I am proud top say I'm a boomer, dinosaur, grandpa or whatever else you want to call me !!! I'm in no way taking away from the talent and dedication of the kids, but this was not Santa Clara . This could have been anyone of the top corps in DCI. Cookie cutter shows that all follow the same formula.
Even if you want to say that it’s not the SCV legacy you have to understand that it’s their first year back and they’re still a primer group I’m excited for future seasons
@@mrsir6112 Don't get me wrong, I am a huge SCV fan. A student of mine marched in their snare line and actually ended up as an instructor. I am thrilled that they're back and I wish them nothing but the best. I just miss the look and sound of SCV and the other top corps compared to how it once was not that long ago.
I love that it was about the music & movement without all those props. Thank you!!
I love it when I'm trying to rip some audio and a freaking loud notification pops up in the middle of it, ruining the audio.
bro shut up, you got the audio anyways
Just go watch a different video lol it’s just marching band
Also L take just pay for Flo marching yourself if you care that much.

I was at this performance! Mind blowing because it was the first dci show I had seen in person… absolute chills on that first hit!
bro the noti😭😭🙏🏽
The rimshots at 8:15 are amazing!
That whole snare break is just the cleanest thing in dci right now,
2nd place goes to the bass break immediately after.
🦆🦆🦆🦆
Exactly 4 too 😂😂
Pit ridiculously clean as always
not christion falling over a gaurd girl at 8:33
8:32 rip cymbal player
Whoever is running flo’s camera angles has no idea what they are doing
flo has been so fucking awful lately, absolutely disgusting, for the price they charge you'd expect the quality to be so much greater
UMMMMMM 4:23????
Man, I hope the video editing gets better. They keep missing battery features. I'm loving this show though!
""Welcome to FloMarching..." Usually by Championship week they have it all "figured out"

I don't see any marching throughout the entire routine, a lot of moving around and running😮
Back when I marched, the music came from the horns and drums

The people complaining about this show along with the other top corps are just exhausting and are rewlly taking the fun out of it tbh
Dang that sucks especially this one cause I like this show

If you had not told me they were Vanguard I would have never known. Way to turn your back and ruin your legacy.
Ok boomer - just be glad they're back on the field. They sound fantastic!
Shhhh go post on "I don't support DCI"
