- The FPS Animation Blueprint was giving me issues so I swapped in the Low Poly Shooter Pack (LPSP) for a test. Changing out all the references and reworking the save/load system took a while, but it's about 95% ported now. Overall I'm getting about 30% lower FPS than I was getting before. I still need to optimize though.
Note: The art assets are from the Unreal marketplace and they'll be updated once I get a level designer. Except for the weapon system, the rest of the code (Save and Load System, AI, Music manager, level manager, land mine/remote mine system, health/stats, etc) is all blueprinted from scratch over the last few months.

This was fantastic. I look forward to actually playing this. You did fantastic with the blockout.
Hey thanks a lot! I hope to be able to release a demo soon. If I decide to keep this version, I'll have to refactor a lot of the save code. Appreciate you taking a look :D
Nice to see LPSP in action. I haven't had time to check the most recent build. Once again, great work!
Thanks! I appreciate that! :D
Hey I know I’m late but quick question, did you make your own game from a seperate project or did you just delete from the pack and make your own game from that
The base project was created using the "FPS Animation Blueprint v2" asset from the marketplace. Everything else was coded from scratch. This version using LPSP was created from that project (replacing FPS ABP).
How did you change the skin/ the hands replacing polygons to real ones?
The arms SKM is already using the same UE4 skeleton so just changed the mesh assignment in the character blueprint. The only other thing you have to do is add the FOV nodes from LPSP into the arms material.
Wow...LPSP really does look AAA when matched with higher assets. Quality Work. If theyd just make a WW2 set Id give em all my money lol
Yeah I love the models and anims - if they would make a realistic version just like it, I think it would rule the marketplace.
what are you using from retro kit?@@DavidNGoodman
@@AustralianTakeOver What is retro kit?
Are you single handedly writing a full game?
Yeah so far it's just me. The base is (was) FPS Animation Blueprint - but I ported it all to Low Poly Shooter Pack to see if that experience would be better. LOL I've written everything except for the weapon system, achievements, and loading screen.
Looking sick!
Thank you!
Totally better. I'm enjoying your journey.
@@MercGyver Thanks for watching! I'm glad you're following it :D
Looks really interesting David, great work. Love seeing the progress, has a Metro 2033 feel to me.
Hey Tim, good to see you man. :) Thanks for taking a look. I needed a break from this project so working on the wife's RPG for a while.
@@DavidNGoodman wow an RPG, sounds interesting! Yeah good to talk to you too. I joined up to the discord too, will have a read through everything, if you need a hand with the LD I'd be honoured to help out :-)
@@MrAmazingpunk Help with LD would be amazing. I have a old (like 20 years) buddy who also wants to be part of the LD and he's getting up to speed in UE coming from Unity. Let's chat when you get a chance.
Great stuff, yeah working with Unity on my day job but have been doing some little bits with UE5. Be happy to help out where needed but yeah a chat sounds good.
looks pretty cool!
Thanks!
Amazing video, this game is sick!
