    That is crazy how much the purple changes your nail color, offsetting any stains. People tend to talk about pink to cover stains, but you're the first person I have seen recommend a purple milky base, and the proof is there!
    I find pink milky bases don't offset staining as well as I would like, so I definitely need to try purple!

    • @PolishedYogi
      @PolishedYogi  2 месяца назад +1

      i know right! it makes sense from a color theory perspective since purple is the opposite of yellow, but lots of nail polish brands just prefer putting out sheer pinks i guess 😅 i hope you consider grabbing this Zoya Perfector! they tend to run sales pretty often so I would sign up for their newsletter so you don’t miss the next one 💜

    My go to Matte top coat is HoloTaco's. Base coat, Orly Bonder. Top Coat, Seche Vite (tho I enjoy HoloTacos more its just too expensive for how often I need to re-buy) And I make my own nail Oil with with Jojoba oil and Vitamin E oil (way cheaper this way lol) Nice video as always!

    • @PolishedYogi

      I feel like Orly Bonder is such a holy grail product haha! I def need to try it. and Seche Vite is a great alternative! I also really liked their base coat too, it was really long lasting for me. ah I’ve heard people make their own oil and you’re right you really can’t beat that 😍 thank you so much watching!

    You can use a mix of lemon juice and olive oil microwaved for stains: 3 tbsp olive oil + 2 tbsp lemon juice microwaved for 20 seconds and dip nails in for 10 mins repeat once a month for healthy and stain free nails😊!

    I recommend Ella + Mila brightness polish. I polish every week and nails get yellow. I’m wearing this now and it brightens the nail so much. Very pretty on, a slight shimmer to it. It’s like mermaid & pearly together lol you can leave it on for two weeks. Awesome to wear if you want a break from polish but you don’t like to leave your nails bare

    • @PolishedYogi
      @PolishedYogi  Год назад +2

      ohh i think one of my friends has mentioned that brightening polish! the subtle shimmer sounds pretty too, I have something similar from Butter London! so maybe once I run out of that one I can try the Ella Mila one 🤩

    • @faboul467
      @faboul467 Год назад +1

      @@PolishedYogi if you’re talking about butter London mellow the yellow, I saw a clip. Ella’s brighten is less glitter and shimmery. There is hints of it, like a blue shimmer but mostly in the sun. It’s more natural and soft, kind of like a pearly look. It looks like your nails but even better .

    Love seeing nail care routines, so this was great to see what products you like to use! My current go-tos are Mooncat's glass nail file, Sally Hansen instant cuticle remover for my super stubborn cuticles, KBShimmer basic training base coat or Polished For Days soft focus base coat if I'm wearing sheers/jellies, and just jojoba oil as cuticle oil lol! Currently using KBShimmer's clearly on top top coat and i love how fast drying it is, but find it shrinks pretty significantly and also kinda looking to transition to one without toluene since the smell is so strong 😅. Might try the Mooncat one or maybe the Polished For Days crystalline one since I keep hearing good things about both!!

    • @PolishedYogi
      @PolishedYogi  Год назад +1

      yeah aren’t these so fun!? and ohh I’ve always wanted to try the PFD Soft Focus base coats, I kind of use mooncat’s primer as an alternative, but which soft focus do you use? I might be confusing it with another brand but I think they have a few color options? jojoba oil is perfect though, it really is the only oil you need but I can’t help but be drawn by all the scents out there 😋 ugh that sucks about the KB top coat shrinking so much! yeah I don’t get that at all with mooncat so I def recommend, but I also have heard really good things about PFD and Cuticula’s topcoats too 😍 lmk what you end up trying and how you like it!!

    • @hollow.huesss
      @hollow.huesss Год назад

      @@PolishedYogi Yeah PFD has a few colors in their base coats! The one I use is briar rose cause I find it has the most 'natural' nail blurring effect for my skin tone. I'm more neutral-warm but I like the cool pink tone of briar rose to help neutralizing some staining on my nails! I don't have MC's primer but I do have the Cirque ridge filling base that you mentioned in the vid, and find that PFD's soft focus to be a bit more opaque than that one (less sheer and milky if that makes sense) so I find it can be a bit streaky if I apply too much pressure (but should be fine if you float the brush). Anyways I definitely recommend PFD's base coat if you're also into VNL blurring bases!! 😊

    I love to see you updated your nail care routine.
    I would like to ask if you think that this ceramic cuticle pusher performes the same as those ones that are lase of glass. Have you use them.
    Also, I must try that nail perfector 😮
    One of my top nail care tips I do every night before I go to bed is applying Kerasal intense foot repair on my cuticles and the skin around my nails. It helps to exfoliate those hard edges. I also apply oil behind my mail since I don’t oil that part of my mail along the day. I know Kerasal gel cream is for foot but it really help to sloth hard edges very efficiently.

    • @PolishedYogi
      @PolishedYogi  Год назад

      Thank you Ana! 🥰 i actually have only used one glass cuticle pusher before (from mooncat) and i didn’t really love it 🙈 personally i find the ceramic performs better; the glass felt more smooth so it didn’t exfoliate as much, but it could also depend on how rough or dry your cuticles are too!
      I do hope you’ll try the lavneder perfector! Its a holy grail for me 😍 they have other perfectors too that are essentially sheers which are nice but this lavender one is a great shade/formula to cover up staining.
      & oh thats a good tip!! Yeah i can see how more intensive foot creams would work wonders for your nails too! I normally just use some cuticle balms at night :) thats a great tip too to apply oil underneath the nail, it seems like it would absorb a lot easier that way but yeah its too messy to do during the day haha thank you for sharing!!

    • @AnaMiel4324
      @AnaMiel4324 Год назад

      @@PolishedYogi sorry, I mean nail, no mail. My phone predictor always makes me look bad haha.
      Now I wanna compare between ceramic and glass. I have used the pointed part of my glass cuticle pusher and I have found that it’s very rough on my nails, maybe if I only use the pusher (diagonal part) will be more gentle. I’m considering to try the ceramic version. When I saw your first video of this subject I thought it was made of plastic.

  • @kipp3100

    If you want to try combating yellow nails, I saw another content creator use a long lasting base and sheer pink polish under each mani so that the color polish she uses touches the sheer pink layer instead of the base coat or nail plate. That way you won’t risk nail damage by buffing away the yellow :)))
    PS- I heard you say in the video that you use peel off base coats, I find that putting a layer of a ridge filling base coat over my peel off base helps in preventing staining!

    • @PolishedYogi
      @PolishedYogi  4 месяца назад +1

      yes i saw this trick on reddit a while back and it helps soo much! i don’t do it everyyy time but my nails are def way less stained than they used to be which is amazing 😁 and that’s so helpful to use a ridge filling base over a peel off to prevent staining too! i’ve only used a regular base over to make it last a little longer. thank youuu! 🫶🏼

    I'm always down to try new nail care products!! I have always loved CND Solar Oil (predominantly jojoba oil) but I've recently been mixing it with Spa Ritual's Cuti-Cocktail, it's not as heavy and smells great! My all time go to fast drying topcoat is Inm Out the Door..have tried so many others but always come back to this..plus I can get it so cheap since I have a nail tech license. I'm loving the Cuticula Mic drop base for my ridges and compared to some other I've tried, it doesn't shrink. Your nails are so dainty and pretty!!

    I've been using the Zoya nail perfector for years, for the bare nail look or under colors that show the nail bed. I also like their Tip perfector under jellies, etc. It's not a bright white, like a French manicure, it just cleans up the stains and, I think, makes the manicure look "fresher", if that makes sense? I've been wondering about the Mooncat and ILNP top coats, I'll give them a try!

    I love this video! I did order the cuticle pusher (sadly the code didn't work but hoping the pusher will!) but I was wondering, do you know of a good base coat that -does- prevents staining? Currently I try and use two different base coats (and my nails must be suuuuper porous because even two doesn't seem to help much) but if I could find a one-and-done base coat it would be amazing. >< Love your videos! :)
