    I really liked the Galloup series of videos you made, and I'm pretty happy that you've picked Mike's flies for the next round, because He's got a lot of great patterns like the Meal Ticket and the Stinky Mayo. Thanks for all of these great tying tutorials. Thight Lines : Zoltan

    I was lead back to here from your Double Deceiver "Reimagined" video so that I can see the difference. Your adaptation makes it simpler with less bucktail work using the UV Polar Chenille which is a perfect substitute that adds flash and a little flickering movement and doesn't hold water. I really like that tying material. I have tied these and a double half and half. I only have a floating line on my 6 wt right now, but everyone I watch says to use an intermediate or sinking line for weightless streamers.

    I would love to see you do some flies from Pat Cohen in this style of video. Great Job!!

    Thanks! The Meal Ticket is up next and probably my favorite of all the videos so far.....it is cool, even if I say so myself. :)

    @flyfishingtheozarks  12 лет назад

    It usually ends up around 6" but you can tie them about as long or short as you want by using the materials a little differently.

    Great tie! My only gripe comes with those mirage eyes. Ive never had a pair that didnt lose the raised "eye" portion to reveal just the shimmering (holographic) stick back on them.

    • @flyfishingtheozarks
      @flyfishingtheozarks  7 лет назад +1

      I tie this TOTALLY different now.....check out my new Double Deceiver video. I agree with the Mirage Eyes, so what I do now is fill the gaps between the eyes with UV resin, then coat the whole head with a thin UV Resin (over the eyes, too) and the only way you lose the eyes after that is if you lose the whole fly.

    what kind/size beads do you use for the articulation? and what kind/size of beadalon?

    • @flyfishingtheozarks
      @flyfishingtheozarks  10 лет назад

      I use all kinds of beads for articulation, from Tungsten Bead Heads to tiny glass beads....just depends on what you want to get out of the fly. Also, I actually don't use beadalon. I use poly coated beading wire that can be found at Walmart. It has a rough texture on the outside so it grabs the thread and doesn't slip....at all. WAY better than beadalon and WAY cheaper.

    • @flyfishingtheozarks
      @flyfishingtheozarks  10 лет назад

      ***** The beads help seperate the hooks and keep everything in line. You 'could' tie flies without the beads but then you offer up more twisting possiblities and just general "tweaking".

    Do you have a go-to thread for these? And is it the same thread you'd use to tie your wool head stuff with as well?

      Daniel Moscon I am liking the Uni Big Fly thread more and more.

    I was curious if you might tell me what video editing software you guys use to edit your videos. I really enjoy your videos, and I am looking to find some options for editing software.

      I use a few different programs now. I use PowerDirector to put the videos together. When I color-grade I use a different program, and then for some editing of still that are in the project, I use photoshop.

    I hate to be that guy but I keep reading ignorant comments on B-Wise's channel. Michael Lancaster- The Deceiver was pioneered by Lefty. Lefty and Bob "copulated" Lefty's Deceiver and Clouser's Minnow into something that they liked to call the Half and Half which as it turns out is my most productive small mouth fly up here in Meechigan on Lake St. Clair.

      Thanks for the sub!! I get my bucktails from Feather-Craft. But they are Hareline.

    So nice of Eli Berant of GreatLakesFly to show Mike how to tie the Cat 5. Not sure why the name got changed to Double Deceiver though?

    • @flyfishingtheozarks
      @flyfishingtheozarks  9 лет назад

      +Brandon Nevarez I tie these a LOT differently now than I did then. But I usually use a #1 B10s for the back hook, and a 1/0 B10s on the front.

      @shire-lee 9 лет назад
