As a man who is considering a career change, I found this video on "How to Become a Truck Dispatcher in 5 Steps" extremely informative and helpful. The step-by-step breakdown of the process gave me a clear understanding of what it takes to become a truck dispatcher, and the beginner training tips were practical and useful. What I appreciate most about this video is that it provides realistic expectations for the job and the skills required to succeed as a truck dispatcher. The presenter does an excellent job of highlighting the importance of communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in this field, which I believe are essential qualities for any successful dispatcher. Overall, I found this video to be an excellent resource for anyone who is interested in pursuing a career as a truck dispatcher. There's a link a few messages below yours. It looks like the package is $590. It's probably worth it if you can afford it, but if you can't. Just keep checking job listings. Also, do a quick review of the D.O.T. laws for "drive clocks". Which is how much a driver can drive and/or be "on-duty" in 1 day and 10 days. If they ask you if you know anything about it. You can tell them, "I know most 53' dry vans average 50 mph on a cross country trip. I know they can't be on duty for more than 14 hrs a day and can't drive more than 11 hours, etc. That should put you slightly ahead of other applicants with no experience. If I had a 700 mile trip. I would count on it taking me about 26 hours because I typically drive 10 hours a day (500 miles) plus a 30 minute mandatory break before 8 hrs driving. Then I'm required to spend 10 hours in the sleeper berth. Then, the remaining 200 miles would be roughly 4 hours. Leaving an hour and a half for traffic jams, fuel, eating, etc. It sounds complicated at first, but it's really not. I'd say learn those D.O.T. drive times, and you'll be lightyears ahead of your competition.
