I live with the Cincinnati area and I remember the GE M1000s along with the Revere fixtures that use to be in the middle concrete border on I-75 before they started that whole construction.
I live in Hamilton Ohio just north of Cincinnati Ohio and we have switched to led lights but it is cool to see. We have a lot of awesome lights. I visit the Hamilton city shop and they have all of the old lights in boxes and I get them for free. Check out highway 129 they have a lot of lights
It look like the lens (refractor) is from the old Westinghouse Type OV-25 to a modern Cooper street light fixture. In 1980, Westinghouse has a new design for a street light fixture luminaries and changed it to Crouse-Hinds, and later it changed it again to Cooper in the late 1990s. Cooper and/or Crouse-Hinds still make these luminaries today, but bid farewell to American Electric (formerly McGraw Edison) and General Electric street light luminaries and they don't make them anymore. Cooper/Crouse-Hinds where formerly Westinghouse luminaries as of street light fixtures.
Not really since original design has plugs on the bottom to attach the hot neutral and load wires. This cooper photocell socket has the wires permanently attached which westinghouse didn't make until the 3rd generation design luminaire.
Hello Polar i can run lights wired for 480v or 277v i have a transformer bank that steps up the voltage made from 2 1000w mh ballasts wired for 120v in series to run on 240v so i can run 2 1000w circuits for 277v or 1 circuit 480v at 2000w great video.

We also used to use 310 watt HPS fixtures here in Seattle along interstate 5... Before they were replaced by Leotek green cobras
Los Angeles had numerous installations of 310w lanterns throughout its freeways. Sadly, they are mostly extinct due to LED conversions.
The cooper ovd lens has westinghouse logo
Is dosent have westinghouse w logo
48-10 is a simple date code, the same as tyres date codes. 48th week of 2010.
these lights were common here in st. George utah.
These are on SR 315 alot still in Columbus Ohio where OSU Area is at
They also made these in 400 watt hps as well
I always assumed these were fake. What you really need is an ultra rare 400W mercury version.
The photocontrol receptacle is actually the original Westinghouse design.

You ca get tid of the bars if you put shutter speed 1/60
Why don't you put flat lens on the old door?
Because this light isn't designed to use a flat lens.
What paint do you use to repaint these? Gray polyester powder finish? I have a Cooper OVH 150W HPS and I want to repaint it. Thanks
Appliance epoxy spray paint
Did you get any m1000s from the dumpster?
No. When I went there a year ago they're wasn't any. They are long gone now. But I have an m1000 from Utica Michigan
Do you have any LED street lights?
definitely can cause financial problems
