  • This is my American Electric Lighting 115 Streetlight. This fixture is a pre-ban mercury fixture from 2004. Recently these were discontinued back in October 2022, this video should hopefully spread some light on what this wonderful luminaire and do it justice. Enjoy and subscribe for more videos in the future! Also be sure to check out my street light collection and other photos at www.lighting-gallery.net/gall....

    As of 2023, the only two Luminaires are still available, and they are: Crouse-Hinds (also Cooper Electric) OVZ, 250 watt LPS or 100 watt HPS lamp, and this one, American Electric Series 115 as shown on this video. Too bad that General Electric discontinued M-250A (Power Door) and M-250R (single door unit) at least 10 years ago.

    It was only the drop lens anyway, because they ran out of stock briefly. “Supply chain” stuff. This is a seriously high demand fixture for them, especially from my area and my state in general. The 125 might not come back, but the 115 is back.

    ITT/Thomas and Betts/American Electric had 115's since the early 90's. I remember seeing tons of these as a kid in NYC for both HPS and Mercury Vapor. FYI..........

    • @polarslightssignals2742
      @polarslightssignals2742  Год назад

      No ITT introduced the 113 in the mid 1980s and it was made during the 90s when thomas and betts bought out American electric in the mid 1990s. In 2003 it was redesigned when acuity brands bought out thomas and betts and remade into the 115. The 115 was introduced in 2003 so you are probably thinking of the 113.

    Note: Do not look directly at the light. I actually prefer these coated bulbs over the clear bulbs. Especially for indoor lighting. They also look better in outdoor lighting. They have a better color and color rendering index. Clear bulbs typically have a 5700K-7000K color temperature. While coated bulbs have typically have a 3700K-4100K color temperature.
