      this was a mistake on my end. when I was working on the video I downloaded an incorrect vocation list (what you see here) and added it to the video instead of the correct one I meant to add. Very dumb and simple mistake on my part. Not sure how I missed it during my review. the vocations are as follows:
      Basic: Archer, Fighter, Mage Thief
      Advanced Vocations: Mystic Spear hand, Magick Archer, Sorcerer, Trickster, Warrior, Warfarer
      I would reupload the video wit the correction but no way for me to do this without deleting the entire video and at this point would do more harm to me growing this small channel. I'll be sure to include this info in the description as well thanks for the mentioning it.

    People keep misinterpreting the discourse around this game. Nobody is saying it's awful. The community is generally displeased because the game has all the problems the first one had. It's unfinished and comes nowhere near fulfilling it's potential. It could've been great if it was given the time, resources, and attention the IP deserved. It's nowhere near as good as it could've been.

      I may have misinterpreted this. I’ve never played the first game so this was my introduction. However, I fully understand how someone could be displeased by pretty much playing a sequel with all the same issues as the first one and also under delivering in many other parts.

    • @christopherharte4741
      @christopherharte4741 21 день назад +1

      Yeah, most complaints from people who played the first one, lack of different creatures to fight(majority are same.from first game), too many mobs too close together, its just repeat the same thing over and over again when traveling, story too short, unlock certain classes way too late, nothing to do after beating the game. The list gets longer, but will leave it at that.

    I'm glad I didn't wait or listen to griefers. I had my characters designed 2 days before launch and played since day one. Got first ps5 platinum, all pawn badges by my 5th playthrough and have 11 little godsbane banes stacked. lol! I have like 700 hours into this game since it released, currently level 145 and still log on at least once a week. I favorite every pawn ever hired or who hired mine and lots of arisen have left me in the dust. There are loads of level 200+ players on ps5 anyway. Some people play xbox, and some from an actual disk which is why there are capcom pawns to begin with- so the world doesn't exactly revolve around steam users. :)

      So you can start new playthrough with a different character & play style? There was this silly rumor that you had to pay for additional save slots or something idiotic like that to have a different character created. Sounded silly but just wanted to ask to see about that...😮

    • @barbwilson4820
      @barbwilson4820 2 месяца назад +3

      @@MrDerekLRobinson Well no paying for save slots. lol. No mtx are required in this game at all. Once you go to NG+ you pick your same arisen, create a different arisen or edit your arisen. You pick a vocation that doesn't really matter and as soon as you get to the area where you pick up your pawn (you can edit pawn then, or create new etc) rest once at the inn and the vocation guild opens up letting you switch vocations, pick augments, use gear earned in 1st game and all that jazz. For rift crystals earned in game all sorts of ways, you can buy art of metamorphoses to recreate your characters looks at any barber. Vocation guilds is where you change your class, assign skills and augments anytime at all for no gold or rift crystals. Campsites you can switch skills but not the class. P.S. As far as I know you can't start NG+ at level 1. edit: Maybe what people meant is- you can only have one. (You can switch that one however you want or start a completely new game wiping out the existing game. You can't have 6 saves with 6 different arisen/pawns leveling 8 to 88. In my mind that would mean there are at least 5 useless pawns in the rift. :)

    I started to play this week. I love it, it's simple. You just go to adventure, when i went from starting village to castle it took me 3hr, because i thought okay lets go explore this area, it was fun.
    I am playing to ps5 and what i know what is different from pc players, they dont go to 100% complete. For me its platinum. Its respect, as gamer to get it. For this i think i will definitely want to get 100%, and i liked how simple it will be. No complexity. I played mh and mh iceborne got 2 platinum and it isn't for everyone.
    I played elden ring and you know i don't like it, i love sekiro, but i think dd2 is different, gives you joy as simple game and adventure can be. I think they didn't want to hit game of the year with this game, they just made game to people enjoy it.

    I also just started this game. I’m 45 hours in and have barely touched the main quest. I fully expected this game to be kind of lame but it is fast becoming one of my favorites. The pawn system brings a unique way to interact with the online community. The game doesn’t hold your hand avoiding something that too many modern games mess up. And fighting giant monsters is absolutely thrilling. I’m hopeful the story is good but exploring the world has been entertaining enough so far.

    The game is great. The gameplay systems in the game are very grounded in realism which is quite rare for open world games nowadays. the last time we had "organic gameplay systems in 3D worlds" like that were from RDR2, Monster Hunter portable titles and Skyrim. The best example for this is the game's combat where you can approach each and every enemy encounter differently. You don't have to rely on the same loop of action rpgs which is hit-dodge-parry rinse and repeat.

  • @PragmaticTornado

    There's such a strong foundation in DD2; it really pisses me off that they didn't do more with it. Same lack of monster variety the first one had (before DLC at least), same weird Japanese styled "open world" that isn't really open, and a story that could have been pretty great, but went nowhere. First one was better in the latter two respects though.
    The first game with the expansion became probably my all-time favourite game ever just a few mere weeks before DD2 released. Now I just hope Capcom sees the profit in banging out an epic DLC for it, fixing many of the issues with the base game, the way BBI did for the first game.

    Its a great game. I know the legitimate reasons for why people were disappointed with it were really two main reasons.
    1. The sequel lacked the vocations the original had. In the original the archer classes and the theif classes were merged. Mystic Archer also had dual blades as did the archer. Mixing and matching the strongest skills of each weapon type made them a powerhouse. Also the best vocation Mystic Knight simply is not in the sequel. The Mystic Knight had fighter sword skills, magic sword skills, a magic shield with magic buffs including party wide elemental enchantments and the coolest enchantment you will ever see called Abyssal Anguish. Not only does it look awesome but the effects are it increases the range of your sword and adds something like 4 extra hits to each individual hit. It absolutely shreds through things.
    2. No repeatable content. The original had repeatable dungeons with harder enemies and better loot and gear on an rng system. I personally played the original for 10,000 combined hours across multiple copies and platforms. The original was massively replayable. The sequel not so much.

Save it for last. You can go there immediately at the outset of the game. It is without a doubt the best part of the game but it's better to build up to it. Experience the everfall, the UR dragon and the real ending of the game first.

Expect walking to be more boring, as the enemies are widely dispersed, there aren't oxcarts, and the portcrystals used to fast travel are limited (once you get to an area named Grand Soren go to an inn and withdraw an eternal ferrystone, or else you are going to suffer having to retrace your steps every 2 seconds).

    How to get pawn illness, when a pawn is grabbed by a dragon and forced to fight you. This gives a chance for that pawn to get the illness. It spreads to other pawns from resting together at camp/inn/house. Only way to "cure" it is have owner's pawn let them die fully so respawn at a riftstone. Then the owner updates their pawn server side from resting at an inn/house afterwards.
    Signs of the illness, the pawn talks aggressively, ignores orders, and will eventually have red eyes.
    If the illness reaches full power, next time that pawn rests at an inn/house, it triggers a cutscene showing them fully encased by dragonsbane shadow illness. Whatever village/town/city you're in when this happens, all npcs will be dead. Some main plot related npcs will respawn after few days but the others are gone for rest of playthrough unless wakestone or eternal wakestone which is an aoe rezz is used within 3 days time.

Im just hoping that a really damn good dlc can make this into the game it was supposed to be.
    But no seriously how do you release a sequel to a game 12 YEARS later with LESS monster variety in it than the original. How? How was not bumping up the enemy variety not the first priorty when developing this game? What in the actual fuck was that story? How do you 4x the world space with LESS dungeons and points of interest than the first game? Im getting pissed just thinking about it.... i will never get hyped for another game as long as i live
