    The quality isn't that great, but it's a very old recording.. and especially the end is awesome.

    Both songs "Wait For Sleep" and "Space Dye Vest" show how genius he is...
    Nothing can be compared to Moore's melodies.
    I prefer few notes of Moore, rather than a thousand notes of Jordan.

    I love the way James' voice just slides right into that note perfectly at 2:20. Idk but that just sounds like a perfect note. meshes beautifully with the instruments and on the old audio recording, makes this cool harmonic. Just thought i'd share that with anybody else on here who might read this and care haha

    So emotional, Wait for sleep is always pure and beautiful! Mr.Kevin Moore has a special touch, a magic feeling with music. Amazing song, I started listening to DT with this song T__T

    I was heartbroken when Moore left, I dug Sherinian but was overjoyed when Rudess came in after the high of LTE. I was in my early 20’s and was really into the amazing musicianship he brought at the time. Now at 40 I do believe DT with Kevin Moore is my all time favorite band Images and Awake were just the most incredible albums lyrically and musically that they’ve ever produced. I eagerly will jump into anything they produce today but those two albums were the soul grabbers while everything after were basically amazing roller coaster mind trips.

    It's funny to me that everyone feels so strongly about Moore as keyboardist because I said that for years!!!
    Sure Rudess is technically amazing but there was something with this lineup and era that couldn't be touched!
    Absolutely LOVE this song!!!

    Having listened to Portnoy a lot he says the conflict with Moore and DT was causing disconnection between the rest of the group. Portnoy forced Space Dye Vest on Awake to please Kevin. Kevin was not getting near the face time he deserved lyrically to petrucci. Luckily he left behind some of the most iconic DT to this day. Shockingly there are only a few DT classics since Rudess joined. They largely belong to Moore. He is a good guy. Life was not good for him at the time. He gave us a legacy though. A living legend.

    • @abraxas343
      @abraxas343 8 лет назад +1

      +andrewman12 Few DT classics since Moore left is very debatable. Lines In The Sand, Fatal Tragedy, The Spirit Carries On, Solitary Shell, As I Am, Stream Of Consciousness, In The Name Of God, Panic Attack, Octavarium, The Dark Eternal Night, The Best Of Times, The Count Of Tuscany, On The Backs Of Angels, Breaking All Illusions, and Illumination Theory are all among DT’s best I say.

    • @andrewman12
      @andrewman12 8 лет назад +6

      +Abraxas I would exclude quite a few of the songs you have mentioned here for In The Presence of Enemies. Count of Tuscany was the last real DT song IMO. It was great. They still write nice sounding stuff without Portnoy, it just lacks soul. However, DT without Moore is liken to a really good band without spark. He was the spark in DT.

    • @abraxas343
      @abraxas343 8 лет назад

      andrewman12 How does a song like Breaking All Illusions lack soul?

    • @andrewman12
      @andrewman12 8 лет назад +2

      +Abraxas Not sure from where you stand, but as someone who has listened to DT since 1999, they have changed. Some good, and some not so good. ADTOE was a really decent attempt at revisiting the Images/Words vibe. It was quite blatant. It doesn't lack soul, but compared to Awake it is absolutely without soul. That is what I am saying.

    • @D_sull93
      @D_sull93 8 лет назад

      +Abraxas its not that it lacks soul but i think it lacks direction. There are amazing parts of it IE the first verse part going back and forth similar to learning to live which the structure is based on and then that amazing solo by JP witht he good organ floydesque feel behind it. Best song on that album but in general something seems missing with dt post mike portnoy leaving. IT just isnt the same. Only had time to listen to the first few of the new album and it sounded great so far

    Best version of the band. Without Kevin and Mike it’s not Dream Theater. The recent albums are nothing compared to the first 3 they did. Even Falling into Infinity through Black Clouds was far better than the last few records.

    man none of the albums are crap i am shocked how someone can say that ! Imagine having different albums of DT with the same Images And Words concept in them! It wouldn't be fun they keep changing and always bring something interesting and that's what creativity is about Bahbuhbih is not really right about what he said. And they can't get anyone better than Jordan Rudess.

    dude, come on...I've been saying that Moore is the best fit for the band forever, but you can't say that Rudess, technically speaking, is "not that good". Rudess is so ridiculously proficient in all styles of music and thanks to Rudess, this amazing band was able to continue to make great music. Moore left the band and Derek was just a quick fix.
