I didn't even go into the stupidest argument of the soyboys talking down the Brass Beast:
They say miniguns in general deal such a high amount of damage at point-blank range anyway, that the 20 % damage increase of the Brass Beast doesn't matter. This upside allegedly doesn't do anything, because all miniguns deal very high damage anyway at a very close range.
True, you might not see that much of a change at point-blank range, but the damage increase shines more with the distance to the target getting longer. Most of the time with Heavy, you don't kill at point-blank range, but at medium ranges, this is exactly where the Brass Beast's damage increase becomes apparent. Check out the damage comparison video for proof.

Surely hitting more shots is around the same as hitting fewer but more damaging shots right? While also not being slow as a snail?
      Just food for thought

Fantastic video man! I’ll check out more of your stuff! The brass beast absolutely shreds especially in MVM. I actually just got done playing in a highlander match with a guy using the brass beast 💀. The biggest problem is he’s more vulnerable to projectiles and headshots since he’s basically at a stand still.

As a heavy main that loves both the tomislav and the brassbeast though i do need more practice with it, but brass beast is no joke I do remember a chad heavy with it and we were both at a long distances, having the tomi thought I could easily kill him at a distance but then HE WON! that damage resistance is no joke never fight a brass beast heavy one on one. Though the advantage tomislav does have against brass beast user is well the silent rev and faster spin up, repositioning is key to fight against a brass beast, always surprise BB never leting them rev, it should be a battle of positioning.
Also there's some people recomending the chocolate with the GRU, but as someone who does use that combo quite often as I'm experimenting with it, you're better off using the banana as it is, if anything the bar is better with fists of steel for extra hardiness.
But Banana is too good yes there is this glitch but... 200 health every 10 seconds beats 100 health specially if you recieved more than a 100 damage, and it's a way more selfish lunchbox item, since outside of that small benefit you're going to have to take a lot more health packs, which why is a heavy taking health packs from the team come on get a sandvich or eat more chocolate wich is a lot less time fighting and more oportunities for spies, trust me they'll learn you have a patern and exploit that weakness.
If you want to do something different go ahead but there is a good reason why heavy players prefer the banana over the chocolate EVEN with the GRU, it's self suficient at a very low cost.

in 6's regarding last defense with uber disad, brass heavy is meta and far stronger than either stock or tomi. having both a lvl 3 sentry + brass on either side of the cap point is extremely good at wasting the enemies uber duration advantage. he also does so much damage that you have to shoot him but at the same time you don't want to because he can tank upwards of 700+ dmg if his med is behind him buffing + arrows, so it's a catch-22 for the aggressors. he ends up making enough space and time for his team to defend the cap point post-uber without them having to die for it, and if he happens to survive the post uber he will mow you down anyway. the further decreased mobility isn't relevant because people could always shoot at you when you're spun up, in-fact, you're relying on it as a heavy to make space for your team

I'm pretty sure the main point the other tf2bers are making (and I've watched a lot of them, even the more obscure tf2bers) is that they acknowledge that of course you have to adapt and play the brass beast differently then the other miniguns, but the issue is that the adapted way you have to play is an inferior way to play in comparison to the standard playstyle of other miniguns. Having to always pre-rev early or be even more cautious of sniper sightlines due to the reduced mobility, etc. is slowing down the gameplay. I forget which tf2ber it was that said it best but he had said something along the lines of that heavy is good because unlike a sentry gun the heavy is a MOBILE high damage source that allows him to push the enemy team physically back by his existence, which of course is something the brass beast won't be doing at the ridiculously slow speed you move at.
Now that being said I agree the brass beast isn't bad and you are correct that it is a good weapon. I use it myself in certain scenarios (and of course in MvM where the game is primed to take advantage of it's abilities best since higher damage is the #1 important stat in that mode over anything else pretty much). However I don't think the other tf2bers are mistaken or giving out false information about it. Sure they might have a hot take or two (kind of like this video which one could argue in and of itself is a hot take) but for the most part they acknowledge the weapons strengths and weaknesses pretty fairly. In most of the vids I've watched about it, they make the same points I listed above that you have to change your playstyle for it, and that playstyle change isn't as good of a playstyle as the standard playstyle since you're just too slow while revved up.
Anyway all that rambling aside, good video with good tips in any case. It's good for people to understand that heavy doesn't have bad miniguns and the brass beast and is in fact underrated.
Here's my own free brass beast tip: the Dalokohs bar/Fishcake is good with it if you don't have a medic with you since by increasing your max health, it means that the damage resistance will kick in at a higher health threshold than with other lunchbox items (175 health instead of at 150) which means it will also technically be blocking damage for longer due to this (this same tip also works with Natacsha which has the same damage resistances).

You can also use the chocolate with the GRU to basically get back to full health. If you swap to the GRU over and over till you have minimum health, then eat the chocolate, youll have about 250 health which will very quickly come back to 300, along with some minor regen for a few seconds after that.

Ironically enough the slower rev speed is a reminder of how Heavy originally had the same rev speed on his stock minigun when the game first came out plus it had worse accuracy as well.
I unironically use the Hibernating Bear set just because I can see the potential of the combo, the primary is defensive while the secondary and melee or offensive juggle, if it wasn't for Valve screwing up the steak and warrior's spirit.

ah yes, another fellow brass beast enjoyer. What a delight. I enjoy preamtive gameplay rather than reactionary one, so i love the gamesense and map knowledge required to set up a defensive hold - not camping tho - or just revving early. Classic is nice too, but the brab was my first hale's own of all time, in like 130 hours gametime. Great Fun with kgb crits tho arguably ineffective due to 5 sec only crits. On the note of becoming immobile, once you crouch while firing, you can no longer move while crouched as long as you are still revved. very frustrating when minimizing hitbox behind cover, since heavy shoots out his eyes. I prefer Fists of Steel for malee and dalokohs personally. And actually, unless you push into the awaiting team, quickfix works wonders with brab, getting pumped with 100 health/ sec while hovering at half health under fire means your resistances are up permanently for the uber duration - and noone expects you to survive for that long :) also, buff banner mini crits are neat-o

Personally, I think it works best with a Family Business. Brass Beast with a sandwich is very vulnerable to corner peeking, long range spam and flanks, plus its long spin-up time makes it dangerous to spin up while enemy is aware. A shotgun, used basically as primary, allows you to be both mobile and dangerous while getting into positions where Brass Beast can shine the best.

I know what you mean, though. For weapons that function differently from stock you obviously need to play around them. The fallacy, that the Brass Beast functions like stock and therefore is bad, because it needs big adjustments when using it, is a common problem people have with the Brass Beast.
