    My turbo let go on the dyno in the same way when it went in for stage 2 tuning, I’ve since blown another IS38 and then a Littco L380x within a few hundred miles of eachother, my cars currently in for a complete engine rebuild as there’s an oil supply issue within the engine causing the turbo bearings to wear out and let go, the turbine wheel shears off and goes through the exhaust leaving the compressor wheel to dig itself into the compressor housing.
    That map sounds shit, as others have pointed out it was surging on both runs but you also need to make sure you have sufficient oil pressure to the turbo, the turbos on these are supplied oil from the crank bearing, when these engines are rebuilt poorly it can affect oil pressure to the turbo, I.e. incorrect crank bearing clearance.

    the software people should have told you exactly what went wrong. it was 100% logical that the turbo exploded. the car should not be started even for a second because you will end up with turbo residue in the oil pan or even in the valves. I suffered exactly the same as you. I then installed a hybrid turbo and after another 20,000 km the engine started making noises.

    • @CreativeTimisoara
      @CreativeTimisoara 2 месяца назад +1

      before starting the engine, you must take down the oil pan and wash the entire engine. in the oil bath you will find a lot of metal. any small piece left there will damage your engine in the future. and with the intake route (intercooler) it must be the same... after doing all this, leave the engine with fresh oil in it and change it again after a maximum of 500 km. constantly hates the oil filter if it has dirt in it. and the oil changes at a maximum maximum of 5000km done. this if you want to extend the life of the engine. hello and respect.

    Don't turn on your car again until everything is cleaned out such as your intercooler. Their could be bits in the boost pipes that could end up reaching the engine if you turn it on without cleaning. 2014-2015 turbos are known to fail as they were designed very poorly, they are ticking time bombs and all will eventually break. Is your car a 14/15 or newer? Ensure you get a well known tuner to do your car next time, 420 on a stage 2 seems pretty high and is pushing it. Why not do a direct replacement littco turbo which would be a lot better option or I'm sure their are a few other similar brands.

I cannot stress enough about using a tuner who is well known for this platform and these guys are not one of them. if you want my opinion stick with ben parsons and littco, since ben worked on your car before. in the video when he loads the car up on the dyno you can hear it compressor surging, the tuner should have picked up on this. also the most stupid thing to do once a turbo has failed is to keep it running... turn it off and leave it off, big chance of starving the engine of oil.
