    Out of the 3, I would only have the Benjamin. Never had good luck with Hatsan. Had several and they were all uniquely problematic in their own right and the nightmarish customer service sealed the deal to never own another. Benjamin is fantastic. Their guns almost build themselves when I take them apart for maintenance. The ease of them puts a smile on my face just thinking about it. And, they completely stand behind their stuff. Plus, when you call you actually speak to someone who wants to help. Love that. Never owned a Walther so no experience, no comment. Another great video man. Have a great weekend brother!

      I have never owned Hatsan or Walther either.But I certainly can relate to Benjamin’s customer service.I currently own a Field and Target Marauder with Lifetime warranty.And,I’ve needed that warranty several times since I first purchased the gun in 2018.But,today,that gun is probably my most used gun ,and does not take a backseat to my more expensive guns in the accuracy and consitency dept.I love how I can pick up the phone,and reach Velocity Outdoor during normal business hours,and actually talk to a friendly, succinct English speaker who is ready to help me.

    Almost a year later I want to update my comment. I got a Reign in a combo deal with a nice long range optic. I love it! Now Especially the fact they hid the tank in the fore grip. It makes it look more realistic. I had good luck with the .218 23 grain H&N slugs. It really likes those.

    Enjoyed this review; especially since I have extensive experience with one of these and oblique exposure to another. First the Akela (and I know I'm OCD, but it ends with an "a", not "e". A-kee-lah as opposed to A-kee-lee), which anyone who had Krals when they arrived in the US knows is a slightly upgraded Kral Puncher-Breaker. Yep, sorry Joshua, but that Benjamin that you like is actually a Turkish made Kral, and they make nice guns. The only issue I had with the Krals in my airgun store was they were a bit loud but overall nice guns and the Akela looks like a good gun, except, that annoying lever. 100% agree that those butt mounted levers are just plain irritating. The Bullboss was one of my very best sellers. The down side was that it was and still is heavy. IMHO all the Hatsans with the exception of the Flash series are heavy. But as pointed out here, it suddenly gets much lighter feeling when shouldered and every one I tuned for a customer was extremely accurate (except one that came it with what turner out to be a warped barrel). The only issue I ever had with the Bullboss was that I had to shim the scopes on every single one I set up. That tactical rail was consistently off alignment by about 1.5mm. Finally, thanks so much for including the Walther. I have a former customer with shoulder problems who contacted me looking for a suggestion on a sub $600 bullpup replacement for his Flashpup because, surprise, with a cranky shoulder the rear bolt is getting very hard for him to manipulate. Given his desire to stay under $1K and still have a mid-mount side lever on a lightweight bullpup, the Walther was the only rifle I had found to suggest. The Notos is just a bit underpowered so he wasn't interested in that rifle. Having seen this review I feel much more confident suggesting that he try out the Walther. Nice reviews and great summary.

  • @TuttleScott
    @TuttleScott Год назад +2

    my Beeman Underlever is my favorite PCP at the moment cause of its lefty friendliness and balance. Only thing I dont like is the weight but it carries it pretty well being a bullpup. the walther reign has been on my shopping list but I've been more into springer breakbarrels lately and my collection needs thinned out before anymore purchases.

    True JC. You had me.
    Totally loved this video!
    For me - if could just grab one home - then it'd be the Walther Reign. But, if need to pay for one (as I have to) - then it's the Bullboss. My local price is ~€950 for a Reign - and €599 for a Bullboss. Never seen the Akela sold here (yet at least).
    The Bullboss has been said as to be a bit too on the heavy side (for some) - but I would not mind. I'd still train to shoot offhand with even a heavier one. And, as said; the basic magazine design - looks quite alike as an Umarex 8-shot rotary mag, which are proven to work damn good - and are simple to load.
    The Reign I fell for at the very first picture of it (prior of release even). I find it waaay tacticool looking. And the plastic shell (a downer to apparently many) oughta make it ridiculously light to wield. And I love the ambidextiosity of it - even with mags. Our versions here come even just with a threaded barrel end and has no fixed stuff..
    The Akela.. Dunno.. The stock do seem like artwork - but it does just not "do" it for me. I just prefer synthetics. Nice though to see you got someone to manufacture needed accessories for it. But I'd buy one if gotten a way good deal for one. I'd probably though alter the stock in some way..😁😁

      @@simonnoble7589 I'd really hope to get some extra money for a Bullboss. Dunno if oughta start selling parts of my massive collection of music memorabilia/stuff..though that'd be a huge decision for me. Seen several stores to have the Bullboss in .25 - either in black or camo, but I'd go with a black one surely if have an option whenever cash is finally at hand for the purchase of one..

    JC, you compared those three bullpups; however, JC, what is your choice and/or opinion to include the Beeman 1350+ series or the Beeman Commodore? Also to anyone that has compared these rifles to each other specifically the Rein vs the Commodore or 1350+ series underlevers?

  • @romeoalphafoxtrot9517
    @romeoalphafoxtrot9517 Год назад +1

    Great video JC!
    Of those 3, I would probably go with the Reign because it is a bit lighter than the Bullboss and I would be taking it out hunting and don't like the anxiety of worrying about f*cking up an beautiful stock in the field.
    With the Reign, who cares? Don't get me wrong. Guns that are super pretty like the Akela are beautiful to look at, but for me, they are no fun to go hunting with, and usually end up as safe queens. I'm not looking for a gun like that.
    The Reign is accurate and very well made. I prefer the magazine design of it over the Hatsan too. That's just me. Just my 2 cents.

    • @AirgunDetectives
      @AirgunDetectives  Год назад +1

      Your higher level PCP rifles regulate the air behind every shot so you get consistent velocity, which results in better accuracy. Non- regulated PCP rifles usually have a power curve. They start with a higher velocity and continue to drop as you go through your shots. Thanks for watching 👍🏻😉
