      Jeffery Daniel, taught him the back slide, that Michael mistakenly called, the Moonwalk!
      The actual Moonwalk, is when you go around in a circle!
      He demonstrates that in this video also...
      The back slide, goes way back to the 1940s, or b4!

      Easily researched, I've seen interviews, with Mr J Daniles, & heard it from Jermain Jackson, Latoya etc... in interviews!
      Also in books...
      I'd suggest, that you read & watch the right material/interviews. Everything I wrote was factual.
      Although I suppose, it should say that the backslide, goes way back, to the 1940 & possibly even further than that!

    Almost there. @1:09 The real MJ would’ve given credit to kids in “urban” communities aka the hood… Those kids were the ones doing the moonwalk originally. Yes, MJ learned how to moonwalk from the children of the streets who were into break dance. - Yes, Michael studied James Brown, Jackie Wilson and Fred Astaire, but his teachers were also children. THAT is what MJ was about. - Look at the timeline of hip hop and how it correlates to when MJ debut the moonwalk. In 1983 we already moved passed the Sugar Hill Gang and now B-boys were the thing. When Mike said “study the greats and become greater”, he didn’t just mean look at famous people. He meant look at those who have excelled in their crafts. The children who were on the streets break dancing day and night is where he got his influence from as well. - Why y’all think he can do the robot, the moonwalk, and other isolating movement so damn good? Who y’all think taught him that? It wasn’t Jackie Wilson lol 😂

    • @mikehammer1777
      @mikehammer1777 6 месяцев назад +21

      Side note, Michael actually saw the Moonwalk performed by its originator, Jeffery Daniel of Shalamar. Jeffery called it the "backslide", and first performed it I believe in 1979/1980. If you RUclips "Jeffery Daniel Top of the Pops backslide/moonwalk" you'll see him performing it in the UK in like 1980/81. Way before MJ performed it.

      Michael Jackson was inspired by Bob Fosse's performance as "The Snake" in the film, "The Little Prince" (1974) and created what came to be called the "Moonwalk".In fact the choreography for 'Billy Jean' is inspired by Bob Fosse's choreography in this little film. .

    • @MrFrostCA
      @MrFrostCA 5 месяцев назад

      Actually, in the hiphop, part of the sub breakdance is the "popping" dance. Michael moves are clearly inspired by the popping.
      ruclips.net/video/C-26Xy0PS_Y/видео.html the popping mix the 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s style with a goofy/smooth dance. resulting in what inspired Michael.
      ruclips.net/video/cSbDDNlz0ek/видео.html The girl in this battle dance moves like Michael Jackson (Specially arround 3:30), but it's not imitating him. It is popping.

    I cried like a friggin baby when he said love from heaven. The ugly cry!! I so much thought it was him talking and I just hadn’t seen the video yet. Then I read the info about it. Idk what Al-generated means, but it was nice but scary at the same time.
    I just miss him so much. He died a month before I was born. I grew up as far back as I can remember and always had his costumes, clothes, hats, glove, mic, mic stand, white under shirt, had a pair of gold pants that were a bit big but I loved them. Was Michael Jackson for 6 halloweens! I’m 14 now. I don’t dress up like him but jam his songs out loud my mom and I sing n dance to them all the time. Thank you God 👆🏽for giving us Michael Jackson, and thank you Michael 👆🏽for making me feel like my dreams are relevant and CAN come true!!

    Charlie Chaplin in "Modern Times" of 1936 had did his own little Moonwalk, wasn't very long but it was good. Michael Jackson made his own moonwalk so special that when he did his, it looked so easy but yet, hard. You couldn't do that moonwalk like Michael Jackson over night, like he said here, it took countless hours every single day and night until he knew that he can perform it in front of millions of people from all around on his live concert. So many of people can do the same thing like Michael, maybe even much better than he ever did. And for Charlie Chaplin, the King of Silent Movies, even though he only did his version of Moonwalk, and probably never even thought about what he had done, as he lost his cufflinks that flew off his wrist with the words of a song he was gonna performed, noticed he doesn't have them on him and was then he was bending down a bit moving backwards like a short moonwalk looking for those cufflinks with the words to a song, was priceless to watch.

    1. The real Michael Jackson himself said he saw kids in the hood doing the backslide (the Moonwalk), taped it and learmed it
    2. I myself saw people doing it in NYC at least a year before Motown 25. Michael definitely made the move his by introducing it to the world on a grand scale.
    3. Jeffrey Daniels (who's name should be all throughout this video) from Shalamar said that Michael already knew the backslide in 1980.
    Bottom line, stop spreading misinformation
    PS. Whatever A.I. program you're using sounds a lot like him. Very impressive

    Michael Jackson told Oprah that he did NOT create the "Moonwalk"..That he adopted it from black inner city people..actually the dance originated from a dance called "The Backslide" that we in the "hood" would watch black folks do in the 60s..However black people had been doing the dance since since the 1920s..

When MJ says "he created the moon walk", that's different, because he knows he's lying and he's actively misinforming people on purpose.
