You ever get any more consistent with your corkscrew maneuver to dodge incoming hypersonic missles? The tail on the tail on the YF-23 looks like it was born to do that. Of course if it isn't just a resting of another jet. Edit: "re-skin" not "resting"
@@CivisMilitarum Very interesting perspective. In fact, next level genius. The seeker will track the engines. If the tail is super low and split in half...... The jet wash could push the missile off and right in-between the fins. Next level comment. I think you just found something
@doczspec4502 I was just looking at the shape. Didn't even consider the wash. Lol Just looks like it would be way smoother with the YF-23 or even the SU-75. (And for the trolls, yes I understand they're both just concept vehicles and there's not much data around for real world application). When Longshot demonstrated it he was using a Flanker or an Eagle I think.
You can give your AMRAAMs a little extra range by manually lofting them - yes, the AMRAAMs loft themselves but if you launch them 15-20 degrees nose high your missiles won't waste any energy getting into their loft trajectory. If you're altitude limited by SAMs, a quick zoom climb with missile release at 20 degree nose high before diving back towards the deck minimizes your time at higher altitudes while also optimizing your missile's energy. It works well with fighters like the F-15 that can stay supersonic.
It looks like it will soon turn out that a fighter with a large number of missiles will win the battle, and the presence of mountains behind which you can hide is also a must.😂
Ah... The F-15J.... Such a beautiful aircraft. The Japanese have the best color schemes for their planes!!!! You should try using their domestic armaments on the F-15J though. Amazing vid nonetheless Longshot 🙏🏼🙏🏼
@LongShotChannel Your BVR videos are fantastic. You add so much tension with the cameras and the straining in your voice. The nap of the Earth flying was top shelf.
Hey Longshot, I wonder if you can tell me how many feet per second a regular Fox 3 travels during the burn time and the same for a hypersonic. The reason I’m asking is that I was wondering how their velocity compares to the bullet speed per second of say a 50 caliber sniper rifle.
Dont know. The way we measure muzzle velocity doe's not apply to missiles. 1. Because a missile at 30k feet will not get to the same speed as a missile from 10k. 2. Trajectory, a missile have a variable trajectory beceuse... well... It's a missile, it has guidance system and the trajactory will be different for every shot, and the energy will be different on every shot in compare to how much the missile had to change trajactory. 3. It's a missile, It has an engine, and what the missile had to go through in flight while the engine is on, and once the engine is depleted is unknown (drag at different altititudes, wind, against gravity or not, manoeuvres...)
I hate to say this, but when will the missile manufacturers design software in the missiles that when they are confronted by terrain they don't just plow into it, they fly higher if they can and re-lock on to the enemy when they re-appear? Great video as usual LS. Love your work!
The infrared sneaky mountain ghost is back, as a eagle! seeing how you use terrain is amazing, i try to use this tricks against AI all the time in dcs. Here's hoping for more mountain action! Also, for something completely different, you should give the mig 31 foxhound a try sometime! JSN64 makes an excellent DCS mod of it, and flying at Mach 2.83 at 70 to 80 k, slinging r37s and r37Ms at foes while cranking away at top speed with tons and tons of fuel to spare, is unreal. ( her extra fun the land attack version being able to shoot kinzhals with optional nuclear warheads in a SEAD role is funny). It's not quite the usual Pro mountain maneuvering you're the best at, but is fun and something different you should try one of these times!
If you use chaff is it better to release it before or after a turn or manoeuvre... I think it is probably best to use chaff then immediately change hight and direction... If you use chaff after you do a manoeuvre the missile will still be on a intercept trajectory with a better chance of staying locked on the aircraft instead of being distracted by the chaff
Well technically the chinese have more recent combat experience compared to the japanese who have not seen combat after ww2. While the chinese fought over Korea and Taiwan straits. Also there have been multiple RAF and USAF/USN pilots who have been hired by the chinese to develop their tactics. As for hardware, flanker is a proven platform improved by chinese avionics and electronics based on combination of indigenous, russian and western(especially Israeli) tech.

That was a sick BVR fight. Two absolutely gorgeous planes with super camera angles. Im digging on the paint schemes you have picked lately.

Long shot is in an Eagle Let's Go!
Live his eagle videos too
The best combination in DCS
Again great editing and mission. Just shows what a good Eagle driver can do.
Let me say this now, you are easily the best DCs content creator 🙏❤️🙏❤️ no ego. No arrogance. Just epic content
Thanks so much, that's very nice

He's just saying it because it is true. GREAT ANGLES!!
Facts
Your knowledge of Flanker capabilities definitely shows in the fight! 👍🏼 Thanks for the video LS!

Flanker got flanked!

Thank you.
Nice color scheme on the 15.
Wow those merch ads are hilarious lmmmaao

Don't know off hand, though you would have to take into account the velocity of the platform either are fired from.

Contaminated or Contested?
Always great videos....explaining what you are doing and your thought process is excellent.
Maybe the Flanker pilot soiled himself?
💩🤭
I appreciate it, thank you
Nice splash! 😀
Thanks
Your graphics are GORGEOUS and I love your flawless Cinematic editing
Thats very kind, thank you!
Flawless. Like watching a movie.
I always enjoy your mild panic defense maneuvers. I think, any second now......
And you get away and defeat them. hahaha
When I hear contaminated area I think armored core 5
The Rising Sun insignia looks awesome on that F-15!
Hey, do you guys ever use "Cartridge Countermeasure 55 mm Typhoon IR Decoy"

Nice video. What are your settings? You have almost same processor as me and the same GPU and my DCS doesnt run that smooth :O

Would you consider running a mission without commentary, but still do your editing?
We're doing one with tactical callouts but no commentary. We can't have no talking. Even in real life, Aviators call out.
Check out the "Movies" playlist
@@LongShotChannel oh, wow! Thanks so much!
Really Shens my Yang 😫
that was like a frikin knife fight, super fast paced and saturated!!!
Both the enemy pilot and the plane probably perform much better in the game than they would in real life.

You'd be surprised that the Chinese have developed their airforce and their tactics quite a bit. They shouldn't be underestimated.
The Mountains will always win.
