Longshot you and the other RUclips creators need to get together to complain / protest to RUclips over quality. Your videos say 4k. RUclips is now restricting them to 720P on Playback on my 4k firestick / 50mbs fibre connection. It's not just your channel but multiple channels seem to being downsized to 720P or 1080P. If I go to the quality settings, 4k is not an option and they're locked out to a max of one of these lower resolutions.
Nice video. We definitely need to see a China vs Russia mission. Irl there is contested territory on their shared border, and it's likely China will invade, liberate and occupy a big chunk of eastern Russia in the not-too-distant future. Also, I miss your original video intro (the one with the Spanish radio chatter).
I mean, what really matters is if the missile fuses. If it does, I think real missiles can actually kill with more separation than I've ever seen in DCS (I believe up to several hundred feet for a continuous rod warhead), and if it hits but doesn't fuse, then it's a roll of the dice whether the missile body hits something critical, or whether it just embeds itself in your tail and your side unlocks the tech for heat seekers (true story: the first Eastern block heatseekers were clones of an AIM-9 that got sent to Russia after it embedded itself in the tailpipe of a Chinese MiG without detonating).
Love your vids LS, but those Vipers played the worst 2-on-1 tactical game. You spent most of your time defending against SAMs and they never once really took advantage by positioning to fill your airspace with AIMs as well....
Watching the video I struggle with SA. There's so much going on and you only have a tiny fraction of it inside your cockpit. Can you show us Tac View snips during the fight? No one is doing that.

Just read wiki about Aim120B and aim 120 C that what as I remember Viper in DCS has - wiki quote: AIM-120B deliveries began in 1994. AIM-120C deliveries began in 1996 -, and only that J11 in video has R77 - firs introduction of early variant of R77 in 1994 according to wiki. Another quote from wiki The -120A and -120B models are currently nearing the end of their service life while the -120D variant achieved initial operational capability in 2015. I feel confused about that time frame - period in time DCS try to portray.
I know it is just game, but if to do background check on technology in game I feel it brakes emersion, kind of expect more from most realistic sim in the world. If it claims to have that cold war aircrafts that is not realistic even on example of Aim120 it was introduced in to service in to 1991according to wiki, Dissolution of the Soviet Union happened in 1991. Hence even most early Aim 120 AMRAAM was not in service during cold war and times of USSR. Breaks emersion. Kind of play for f18 and flanker - in f18 have bells and whistles and face early mig29s, early flankers, if play for flanker face late f16s,18 Kind of feels off for a realistic SIM.
And if anyone make argument that DCS has newer than early flanker, su 33 from 1998. According to my humble understanding su 33 is the worst and is experimental and in small numbers, as far aas I know Russia do not use aircraft carriers in its military doctrine there is only one carrier where su 33 serve and that is not a carrier I watch documentary about it it is joke it is not really used. Su 30 was introduced in 1992 and that is a big deal and real work horse.
And I pure here my outrage. F16 in DCS in F16C block 50. According to wiki block 50 was built starting from in late 1991 and up (wiki quote: F-16C/D Block 50/52 Originally deployed with the United States Air Force, they were upgraded and sent to Iraq as they became obsolete. The first Block 50 F-16 was delivered in late 1991; the aircraft is equipped with improved GPS/INS, and can carry an additional selection of advanced missiles: the AGM-88 HARM missile, JDAM, JSOW and WCMD.[14] Block 50 aircraft are powered by the F110-GE-129 while the Block 52 jets use the F100-PW-229.) has missiles from 1996 up to at least to 2002. I feel that-dis balance in game. Where are apples to apple instead apples to oranges? Feels as some Wyvern vs Hellcat story.
And by the way I do not get DCS approach even to WWII aircrafts somehow present not most common variants but some rarest least produced and latest and greatest - for example bf109 k4 Series production started in August 1944 with the K-4 model, due to changes in the design and delays with the new DB 605D power plant. The K-4 was the only version to be mass-produced. Fly from august 44 to May 45. Why they choose that I do not know.
I’m not a historian but according to wiki bf109 K4 did not took part in battle of Normandy 6 June - 30 August 1944 (which map is in DCS) - wiki quote about K4 “Deliveries began in mid-October 1944 and 534 examples had been delivered by the Messerschmitt A.G., Regensburg by the end of November and 856 by the end of the year.[106][107] Regensburg delivered a total of 1,593 by the end of March 1945, after which production figures are missing.[citation needed] With such a high rate of production, despite continuous heavy fighting, by the end of January 1945, 314 K-4s - about every fourth 109 - were listed on hand with the first line Luftwaffe units. Ultimately it was intended to equip all Bf 109 units with the 109K, which marked the final stage of 109 development before the jet age.[108]Using MW 50 and maximum boost the Bf 109 K-4 was the fastest 109 of World War II, reaching a maximum speed of 710 km/h (440 mph) at 7,500 m (24,600 ft) altitude.[109]
Great video as always. I actually really liked this more than the recent ones. But what's up with the artifacting that happened throughout the video? They were especially visible at the beginning while flying formation with the J7s.
@@LongShotChannelin some parts of some scenes, textures pop or there are visual artifacts occurring in the picture. For example, on the left side of the screen, on and under the J7 in 1:22.
Hey cool video but i want to know Do you actually fight real players in this game? I haven't seen any intesne battle between a player with other jets in any gameplay. its always the player who wins . So my question is it that are you really playing against the bots in this game?
Basically "in front of". Doesn't necessarily mean 0 degrees / 360 degrees, but at least reasonably close to that heading, as opposed to "off my tail" (behind me), "off my wing", etc.
