Windows 11 arm running on raspberry pi 5
Works with windows 10 arm
Should work with tiny 10 and tiny 11 arm versions
Love your videos Lee. I just used your tutorial and installed Windows 11 on my Pi5 8gb WITH INTERNET using a USB to ethernet device on the USB 2.0 socket. It didn't work on the USB 3.0 socket and it only gets 50 Mbps (paying for 400 Mbps) but it works! Thank you for sharing your knowledge of everything Raspberry Pi.
@@escapZe Im also having the same problem
Why don't you use the built in Ethernet controller? Too slow?
@ window arm version currently does not support Ethernet yet, so basically it cannot use but have to buy the adaptor, u will find this problem during setup
@ycchannel4614 oh.
@@ycchannel4614 Are you sure the speeds are being measured by Mbp/s not MBp/s? You might be getting 50 MBp/s instead of 400 Mbp/s because they are different measurements and have a 1/8 ratio.
The internet works if you right-click on the Windows logo, then click on Device Manager, and in Device Manager click on Network Adapters when a LAN cable is connected. Then, right-click on the port where the LAN cable is connected, select Disable, and then re-enable it. Thank you for this Video

I just got into this with a Pi4. Very interesting, and almost usable. Only missing thing is hardware support with optimized drivers. Once those are available this should fly! Fingers crossed we see support for the Pi 5 on the hardware front!
Nice work!!, I got one of my Pi 5's loaded today with your help. Right off the bat I used a "KILLER" 2.5 gb usb 3.1 Ethernet adaptor plugged into USB3 port' working at full speed. Also used an Apple compatible Bluetooth dongle in USB2 port. Working with out a hitch. Now just need Pcie and Fan control to work and I will be almost complete. Thanks for your help.

Hi. Great video.Thanks. Very useful, but I have a question. I install windows on nvme ssd drive. But your setup is with SATA drive. Can I setup boot windows from nvme? I edit config.txt, but nvme error 8 is the error message. Not seen the nvme drive (I have a pimoroni nvmehat) under uefi shell. Sorry form my English :) I hope You understand what is my question.:)
At this time you still need to boot from the sd card
Just wanted to say that in more recent versions of windows on arm it does not crash when unplugging and plugging things into it. Oh yeah also use Rufus and set it for windows to go to write windows on the sd card.
@Bloxxness I noticed the usb plugging & unplugging is better now 👍🏻
Worked like magic , thanks so much
Nice video, there is a way to install it onto an sd card without any usb drive by installing wor first onto the sd card then mounting the boot partition using the command prompt. Windows is annoying when accessing the boot partition so you'll have to download an app like explorer++ making sure that you run as an administrator. Copy the rpi5 uefi files into the boot partition not in any folders inside the boot partition then replace with files in destination. Haven't got past the setup yet because of the wifi part. Hope this was helpful
I did have a problem with the install keep blue screening with the error code ACPI_BIOS_ERROR but all it needed was a boot loader update 😊
Bro can you send me the steps what you have done in only SD card . It will be really helpful for me.....
My Raspberry Pi 5 Doesn't Particularly like Windows 10
I have changed the Boot order in the UEFI settings but the Pi likes to Blue screen!
I have got the Active Cooler on it. I am also using a USB HDD (EHDD) ( What I can afford)
It thankfully does an auto-Restart! But when it diagnoses it says Log file C:\Windows\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt It gives me the option to Shut Down or do advanced Option I Troubleshooted but the best option I can think of is Sort the startup setting out. I am a tinkerer with software. I probably should skip the OS check. I also tried running it in safe mode. Just to make sure it's not the full thing that's maybe the issue. But mainly it's been a stop code error. I understand this is the "early days" of the windows ARM64 Era. But i need help on this. I really don't want to use IoT it doesn't look that good.
I did the Pi3 thing

@@menoats the Pi 5 is significantly faster even though both don’t have gpu support. Especially with an nvme
Some of my observations/confirmations (that others had noticed too):
SD Card need to be FAT32 (if it too much gb, simply create a partition smaller than 32gb for the boot files).
In the WoR imager, use the RPI3 option, the RPI4 seems to cause issues.
To get internet on the PI5, use ethernet to usb dongle. For me it worked in the USB 3.0 slot. But it took forever to recognize it.
Didn't get bluetooth going, but plugging in a USB-device on the fly was no issue.
It is brutally slow.
RDP:ing in is not working at my current state of testing.
Raspberry Pi imager can format a storage device of any capacity to fat32. The Pi always uses fat32.
Can we just load everything on SD card and make it work rather than using external Hard drive?

Errror showing when i connected a bootable drive to raspberry pi 5 that is the installed OS doesn't indicate support for raspberry pi please help me
Not enough details about the drive or the os
why not use the same drive for the UEFI boot and windows?
I am using the same drive for both and it works. Can not get the ethernet port/driver to work though.
I followed your instructions and got stuck somewhere when I unzip the WoR file I don't see the WoR icon to open it

hey every one , can we instal windows 11 directly to the ssd from a mount image ? like we do on a "normal" pc ?
The Raspberry Po is different. You need to use uefi boot
The installed operating system (OS) does not indicate support for Raspberry Pi 5 in config.txt to to skip this check. Error please help
If you are using a similar setup it should work. If you are using nvme or sata drives you may not get the same experience. I hope to test nvme soon and maybe create another tutorial
Can you doom2? There are several versions.

I remember the WOR guy stopped supporting newer images of Win 11 because the ARM CPU in the Pi3/4 didn't support newer ARM instructions which started appearing in later Win11 builds hence the cutoff point in Win11 image compatibility. Wonder if the Pi5 supports those newer instructions/could run later images!?
only useful comment on this video..
what wiifi dongles do work with it?

when i get to turning on the pi after installing everything it says in the bootloader that the installed opperating system does not indicate support for raspberryn pi 5. and it says to set OS_check = 0 in config.txt to skip this check. insted of using a ssd for the OS im using another micro SSD with a micro USB reader connected to the pi. anyone know whats wrong.
Sounds like the uefi boot is corrupt, just write the boot sd card again. It will only take 1 minute.
If that still doesn’t work update the eeprom to the latest. You can use the raspi-config method in this video now

Hey, i just flashed the image but i dont know where to put the 3 files inside the .zip downloaded from github... can anyone help me?
i figured out that i installed windows on an 128gb sd, so i plugged it ina sd to usb and copied the 3 files on an 16gb sd that i erased as fat32, plugged it in, but it wont boot, it just says that it is not compatible
See 3:41 you are writing them unzipped to the root of an sd card. The sd card is for booting the Pi. You need another device connected to usb that runs windows.

@@leepspvideo Okay cool thanks. I didn't think of that. Seems weird that the Pi's Ethernet isn't compatible but a USB to Ethernet adapter is. It's working though and is updating Windows now.
@leepspvideo How did you fix the paging message that pops up? It's stupid that they won't let you Activate it or that it doesn't do it automatically for Pi users.
You madman! Interesting that Microsoft made a full fledged ARM build of Win11, looks like an awful lot of work to me. It's not like there is a lot of powerful ARM hardware around. I am guessing most people that actually use it are on a new Apple silicon Mac in a virtual machine.
