Bahubali should have got the oscar as the OST and background is marvelous than RRR . Even after this , keeravani is being ignored . This is what many people in tollywood complain about , though many films being brain rot , many artists are gems in tollywood but everyone are focused on anirudh and santhosh narayan. This is what kalki lacks in , having grand music .It is not bad but keeravani would have done even it better. M.M.Keeraavani is underrated . No hate . 100% agree with you .Peace 🙏

Now a days people don't go to the theatre unless the movie is violent and loud. I suggest releasing this sort of melodious movie on OTTs directly. It's not that these movies don't have enough audiences, it's just people's preference for going to the theatre has changed.

And people go to these movies because the word of mouth reviews are good.

Neeraj had signed Ajay for Chanakya. Most probably paid a handsome signing amount to him. But Chanakya got shelved so the only way to recover the signing amount was to make another film with Ajay and the result is AMKDT. Its a forced film so doesn't surprise that its poor.
A lot of these 90s actors are known to never return the money once received. Nadiadwala is also making Sikandar just to recover the amount he'd paid Salman for Kisi ka Bhaijan before he backed out of that disaster

Tbh, I used to question the same thing why don't we watch movies in theatre like Uljah, Lapata Ladies, Auron Me kaha dum tha where there is serious tonality, information overload where we can't tend to miss a single dialogue, personal journeys of common man, patriotic movies, I prefer watching it on OTT where I can rewind if I miss or forward if some part's boring. I'd go spend in a theatre if there's entertaining, eye pleasing, dopamine triggering colors, music, story and vfx, glamour... I'd go. Idk why my preference changed but I'm sure, adulting happened where we don't always want to watch serious movies that happen real time. I started enjoying fantasy, horror comedy, sci fii, romantic, entertainment and chill movies in theatre. (Though I enjoyed watching 12th pass in theatres) and watch something that we don't usually get to watch or do in our normal complicated lives. Like seeing Shah Rukh flying on motorcycle and shooting at enemy or Deepika/ PC kicking huge men in high heels 😂. I have observed same thoughts over this in my friends and family group.

The audience is wisely spending money
Only good content is attracting them. An evolving phase
That's the reason, OTT is doing extremely well with fine content.
SRK is the last superstar, even large screens will become extinct in the coming future.

Content matters a lot in recent times, even SRK can't get that much buzz if content is not upto the mark. SRK followed the public hype about mass movies that's what worked for him. If he makes any love story or socio drama he will have a tough time. For instance take an example of zero, and recent movies of Salman Khan. People nowadays don't want to waste time watching emotional drama in movie hall paying a hefty amount which can be enjoyed in OTT staying calm at home and most of the audience tends to go for movie hall to watch something larger than life.

The point that you mentioned about different actors playing old and young versions making romance disconnected is something I disagree with. I haven't watched the movie so I don't know how they executed it here, but there was a show on Sony, 'Yeh Pyar Nahi Toh Kya Hai,' which had the same thing, but characters in teens and late 20s. They executed it really well in that show, us as audience getting invested in both past and present, yet seeing them as a cohesive storyline. It had a kind of who dunnit arc too but I digress. Maybe it was a show, not a movie, so audience had longer time to connect with the characters, but I find it ironic that the same thing that worked so well for it is the negative for this movie.

One thing we must always remember that music directors have a budget, constraints from the director, demands from the financial backers of the film as well as other restrictive applications. That being said in the right situations music producers of India can all come out with amazing songs, but one shouldn't dismiss their capabilities.

One thing I don't see a lot of people discussing is the state of economy and prices of tickets.
Nowadays watching a movie in a multiplex with family is a costly affair. A middle class family 35k-40k monthly salary can't afford to shell out thousands buck or fifteen hundred bucks every week.
So unless it is an event movie like kalki or a movie that gets positive word of mouth like 12th fail most people opt not to go to theatre even for a above average movie.
They simply wait and see it on OTT.
Income has not increased and prices of everything has almost doubled, there's food, school fees, petrol, gas, electricity and many miscellaneous expenses.
Now after such a monthly budget i am not going for movie like this.
I am seeing two movie a month max with family.
So i will opt for kalki and twisters to watch with kids.

The no big unexpected twists made the movie realistic imo.
Other than that the empty streets were actually a problem, except the late night scene in the end.
The chawl didn't feel fake when I was watching the movie for the first time, because I was focusing on the story. But during the second watch now, it felt a bit fake. I don't think different actors playing the same role is the issue. The story didn't keep a fluent shift pattern most of the times, which was the issue.

I think MMK is more inclined to carnatic classical indian music which is more aligned to South. So his music is not for all. Not just ss Rajamouli but if you notice RGV movies he has worked with he has given awesome numbers. ARR mix western more comparatively and hence gets connected to Hindi audience easily. Of course he too have classic numbers. Keeravani music is for those who want to sit and listen and not fastpace world

On the 'different actors playing past and present' point, I want to bring 96 to your attention, where that didn't take away the impact one bit. So, the issue is not different actors playing the past and present, the issue is that the screenplay and direction failed to seamlessly integrate the two timelines.

    • @TriedRefusedProductions
      @TriedRefusedProductions  3 месяца назад +3

Actually I’ll tell you the issue. While in 96. Most of the sequences of the young cast became a flashback. Reflecting on why Sethupathi is the way he is. Here, they would constantly reference the young actors while still interacting with each other. It had a confusing yet odd impact.
