There were a time that there were six Master Kirtaneya that had their name starting with the letter "S". Bhia Santa Singh Ji, Bhai Sumund Singh ji, Sant Sujan Singh Ji, Bhai Surjan Singh Ji, Bhai Smitar Singh Ji. There were others Ustad Kirtaneya from the Rabbi Shalli but these were the S's. I wish more of these kind of interviews were documented. There a few Raagis for that era that have not been documented like Ustad Bhai Sahib Bhai Ajit Singh Matlashi Ji. Bhai Avtar Singh Ji & Bhai Gurcharan Singh Ji Jatha was acknowledged by Bhai Samund Singh Ji to Patiala University for having the 11 Generation of Kirtan for our Guru Ji's time. Bhai Swaran Singh ji who was the only Tabla player who played with them is in New Delhi and plays with Bhai Kultar Singh ji. I am sure Bhai Swaran Singh would have experiences to share with us since Bhai Santa Singh ji were on rotation duty for Assa-Ki-Var at Delhi Gurdwaras. And Bhai Samund Singh ji was also close to Baba Jawala Singh (Bhai Avtar Singh & Bhai Gurcharan Singhji father and Ustad).
I cannot forget the great kirtan of bhai chattar singh, bhai surjit singh and the great tabla master bhai kulwant singh in Alberta,Canada.in the 80's.. it still resonates in my ears today.very rare kirtan style Outstanding video clip!
