Most any rose will work in a decoction for Rose water. Unfortunately, most of my roses were given to me from other's gardens without tags. But, I did use Tropicana, old fashioned white rose and my sweet pink rose. I do have a medicinal rose that I did buy for my Herb Garden. I've only gotten one rose from it. Yes there are benefits to using rose hips, but I don't have any of those...My main medical herbs that I researched are the Cleaver's and Violet leaves, lymphatic booster and fibrotic tissue repair respectively are the healing benefits I focused on.
