- Well this hospital stay was a little longer than I thought it would be!
Who knew getting a feeding tube would require so much prep work?
For a year, our GI doctor expressed concern for Damian's lack of proper nutrition (which was due to Damian's inability to eat enough and his squished stomach). Finally, it was time to pull the trigger and have a gastrostomy (G) tube surgery so that we could feed him more regularly throughout the day and not worry about him being too tired to eat safely.
In case you are interested, the surgery itself is called a "Laparoscopic Gastronomy." I asked the surgeon so many questions beforehand about it that he suggested I type it into RUclips so I could watch someone do it. (Yes, I took his suggestion and found a couple videos)
While this new feeding tube life has made life even busier and more tedious than it was before, I'm hopeful that this tool will make a really positive difference in Damian's overall health!!

Damian really is such a little trooper the way he bounced back from his surgery all smiles and so full of love for mum and dad you two are great parents. I just came across the birth of you're son and have been listening to you're family's story, it's so difficult to have anyone in You're family ill but when it's you're child it's so heartbreaking and scary but he couldn't be more loved and it's so obvious, and I commend you for not only trying to find a cure for you're son but hoping if it doesn't save you're son it will save other children in the future is so thoughtful and kind. I wish you all the best and will continue following you're posts.

He sure is, my heart goes out to you all. My grandchildren were on N.G tubes before and after heart surgery. The hospital from home team taught me how to pass them as they were so young, they would get their little fingers under the tube and flick it out.

My daughter does have a feedingtube too! It all started that she was sick as a baby and she got the feedingtube ans still has one while shes 13 years old and im so sorry its really hard i know Dear but wishing you all the best and prayers!❤❤❤❤❤

Bless his little heart😢..They tried 5 times with an NG tube and I had the same reaction; however they never could get it passed my stomache so I had to go on TNP..IV feedings though a pic line in your chest..(for those who who don't know what TPN feeding is..no real food its sodium and liquid fats with orher supplements in a what looks like a huge IV bag)...your family is in my prayers ❤️ 💖 💗 He differently is a strong one !!!

I am just having memories of when was little and I still have a feeling tube for water and meds and if i am sick my mom just hooks me up and runs my feeding pump long soi dot feel more sick
