I dont really know much about acting but considering like 90% of our communication is body language, you really started owning the character more when you had more confidence in the character and your skills! bravo my friend, keep up your art!

Now study that shit for 4 years if you really wanna see some results, and even after that you’re never really done learning how to act

I'm not a good impartial judge. The different staging and cinematography, and the difference in chemistry between the actors would distract me too much from speaking about the acting performance in isolation. So it's hard to say how much my impression is clouded by those factors.
I'd say perhaps in the second version you are more comforable at simply being the role without acting out the script as a text. But at the same time the first version feels more ambitious about delivering the lines faithfully, and it also feels like you had learned them more thoroughly when the first one was recorded. I think the second version could use a little more of that original gravitas of the punchline. And I don't just mean dramatic bold gestures, but the first version is also more convincing about subtly working its way forward to the gotcha in the beginning.
