The first season intro was fine but it got stale by the end of it. Remember that this was during the meteoric rise of disco, but in the second season that opted for that awful " la, la, la, la, la. That was worse.
I would've liked to see Ida rekindle the old flame she had with Norman Fell in the earlier years. But by then Norman was Stanley Roper on "Threes Company"!
Nancy Lane was a really funny actress... She worked thru the 70s and 80s and then pretty well disappeared. I wonder what her concept was for Tina... I also wonder why the producers brought her in? Maybe to replace the guy who played Ramon? It was too bad that "Rhoda" ended mid-season, and the last 4 episodes they shot were never seen until the show went into reruns. There was no conclusion to the series at all - except Brenda finally marrying. Terrible end to a GREAT show. As Valerie described it only a handful of years ago in her bio - I don't think many people even knew - they were cancelled in December 1978 and just never went back to the studio again after the holidays. A shame. She also said that she wished she'd have had one last show to wrap up the character, as Mary had on her show. BUT, that wasn't the end of Rhoda. We'd see her one last time, 22 years later in 2000 on the Mary-Rhoda TV movie.
I can't handle this character Tina at all, and I don't find that schtick funny. It annoys me no end, LOL. Did viewers and network execs find that personality actually amusing? It's not a good quality, the way she speaks and behaves; it just sounds like pure immaturity.
Rhoda had such beautiful hair! It was the style then....people looking like poodles!! I look back at the pictures and the men were getting their hair permed too. A sea of poodles in the clubs!
I like The Hogan Family. Can't find episodes to watch on the web or disc, though. Sandy Duncan and Jason Bateman were so good when they shared a storyline together.
Gosh. design a better dress the prairie look and bad perm isnt becoming Heres beautiful woman whos thin. and they cant dress her ? The white early 80s dress is better but it adds pounds.
