Andy Martinez I mean one of his biggest tracks (Bank Account) was produced by himself so it might have been possible for him to blow up without metro, but metro certainly helped a lot
SilverFlare no dawg. He made bank account when he already had a fan base. We talking about songs that made him blow up. Songs like "no heart" there's more songs but that's one I know off the top of my head that Metro produced that blew up.
Bruh I would luv to see producers unite and go on strike bruh wouldnt even take long give it a few months with no heat coming out rappers would he paying for they beat up front like ima get the lable to reimburse me and that's how I feel your gonna pay me to can be the one running tryna not to get screwed i did my job and delivered the heat
King Devon Why should a producer get paid as much as a song writer? because now a days the beats are doing 90% of the Work in these songs without them these rappers sound like trash
Xxl should make a list for producers n gain them more fame kuz these producers are really helping these rappers. Most of these rappers wouldn't be shit without the producers
bruh it even made sense when producers made simple ass beats to not be paid enough like when rap was at its prime but now every rapper just says 3 words that go with the distorted bass of the song (cough cough lil pump cough cough )
Free beats are necessary in getting off the ground and keeping positive relations with others in the industry. That's facts, u gotta give free beats every so often
albron_albron y’all still sleeping on wavdreammusicgroup.beatstars.com & Zaytoveen or Cash Clay and C note , Can’t not mention Chop Squad either & metro is a pop culture legend , (POP CULTURE) but acknowledged well in hip hop the dude is responsible for the greatest hits of 2017 -2019 n mike will made still out here so wtf y’all on , sample or not it takes time to perfect a great master track off a simple sample to make a hit
You mean 50% of Writing and Composing the song? Beat Making is Songwriting. Producing is directing and overseeing the overall production and recording all the way down to the mix process. Two entirely different things. Timbaland, Scott Storch, Dre, and Pharrell Williams are tradtional Record Producer's Co-Writes the music as they are wearing two hats as a Producer and a Songwriter. That's why they get Songwriting and Production credits for both roles as they don't just sit on their asses all day and just make beats. That's the difference between a Beat Maker and a Producer. *PRODUCER=DIRECTOR* *SONGWRITER=BEAT MAKER/LYRICIST*
@@eman0828Those are exceptions. Majority of the time, the producer does all the work and heavylifting, including composition, songwriting, (production process) beatmaking, vocal cleanup, mixing, mastering, and everything in between. The producers make tons of beats, most of them go unused, and the singer picks one and sings/raps over it, and then the producer add all the vocal effects and cleanup/m&m. The artist basically just creates lyrics and performs dry vocals and adlibs. That's it.
Complex Ez u can’t have a rap song without lyrics what the hell Is going on in your brain 😂 u can have a rap song without a beat as long as the artist has good lyricism to keep u interested Listening to a beat on its own is like listening to classical music
You mean track makers? Beat Making is Songwriting as you are basically writing and composing half the song the *MUSIC(Beat)* and the Lyricist top-lines the Music that writes the *LYRICS(Words).* That's a 50/50 split between two Co-Writers that wrote an entire song together with Music and Lyrics combined.
Get yours. I'd say we're all probably better off developing alongside a singular artist, and coming up with them. Like 40 and Drake. Or working with a small group of people that you believe in. Be exclusive. If you're that good- don't associate your name with people who aren't.
It really just depends on which artist and/or label hit you up. We have to remember that most Record Labels and Artists are actually businesses. Which means that their primary goal is to make a profit. If that means they have to screw you over, then they won't think twice. Remember the guy "Menace" who produced Desiigner's Panda? When last did we hear from him? Even though he had his 15 minutes of fame from the "Prod. by Menace" title. I'd rather have a sustainable career than one that dies because of impatience. With that said, I definitely see where you're coming from and I'm not disagreeing- we should all take our shots- but business is business and we need to be good businessmen and women.
MISTA FRANKFERTA no doubt bro. I'm with you there. But I think it's important that as producers (who are artists) we value the art above anything else.
I just recently got fl studio and I truly have no experience but learning to master beats is hard af and those producers need credit maybe more than the actual artist sometimes
this is something that needs to happen. As a guy who just raps for fun, I think producers need more safety and security in the industry because there's just no rap song without the producer.

The producer's job is much MUCH harder than the rapper's. All a rapper has to do is to ask for a beat of "this-this" type. Now the producer does all the stuff. Then the rapper raps, and producer mixes that, does all the work and still does not get paid or recognized. This fucking sucks. And I am a producer aswell, I know it all.
A Record Producer's main objective is to see the creation of the finished record all the way through all the way down to the mix. Real Record Producer's enter In legal binding *Producer Agreements* which I find it hard to believe why wouldn't a Producer wouldn't get paid. I have a 14 page Producer Agreement with a Record Company myself that states the Producer's Advances that recoupable against Points on an Album. The Points comes out of the Artist record royalties from thier 360 / Recording Agreement. The contract also states the Recording Budgets as the Producer is acutally paying themselves out of the Recording Budget as an *All-in* deal. The Record Company sends 50% of the funds to the Producer on commencement of the Recording Sessions and the other 50% upon completion of the Master Recording turned in to the A&R. The Producer has to pay every one else involved in the creation of the record as they have to Make Union Scale payments to session Musicans that are part of the Union, pay the Recording Engineer etc. All of that comes out of the Recording budget.

Some great advice for us producers! Thanks & keep up the producer profile videos :)
Payment should be discussed and defined at least twice, during inquiry to have a foundation both parties can agree on and after the song is made (before release) to re-evaluate the effort both parties put into the project/track. Makes it more communicative for everyone.
