I tend to watch a lot of the guitar videos/genre , and know exactly what you mean - it’s nauseating. I look at it like this: music is artistic expression, not a fucking football game. Sure there are levels, but it’s about what YOU like. I live technically advanced musicianship as much as I love good , simple Rock N Roll etc. There’s no competition I’m aware of. I can listen to Larry Carlton as intently as I do Angus Young - they both move me, musically.
@@hazor777 same here. I can listen to a technically simple solo like George Harrison on “Something” where it fits perfectly, or Eddie Van Halen on “Hot For Teacher” and be moved also.
I honestly have never that I can remember listening to any of Motorheads music. Understand I'm 57 and until a couple years ago just started listening to newly noticed bands and expanded into some well known Metal/Rock groups. I recently seen 5FDP in Charlotte NC. This drummer is awesome! Can anyone please fill me in on some of the great originals in the band whom have sadly passed? Losing my 35yr old son almost 2yrs ago from a massive heart attack in his sleep is what got me to giving a lot a bands a try. Music and finally 8 concerts has helped me so much to deal with his sudden death. The only blood family I have left is my youngest son he's 30 now. One of the things that I love about his playing is that his left foot is always keeping time on the hihat. So many rock drummers today keep their left foot on the left bass drum pedal and do nothing with it. Speed and thrash as well. Keeping time with the hats is becoming a lost art. Kudos, Mikkey! 6:25

@@shanegriffin2215 Lol, most of the tunes I'm talking about it would knock you out of time trying to flip back and forth from double bass to hihat. Believe it or not, you can reach a level where it's not necessary to keep time on the hihat, especially when you have a clicktrack in your ear, or, you're just that damn good.
Still doing his motorhead solo with a few different fills here and there. I love this dude's drumming and his Paiste power ride always sounds AMAZING. As a drummer myself I totally borrowed and incoporate his R-l-r-L R-l-r-L snare roll groove with the double bass whenever I play infront of people.. always seems to amaze the people watching me every time lol. I even used it when I was in the guitar center drum off competition. Thank you Mikkey. 🥁🤘🏾
Best drummer in the world such a hard hitter and still gives the young drummers a run for their money stamina wise, he keeps his solo performance engaging its well put together, a lot of it is taken from his motorhead days but its a nice subtle tribute to lemmy in my opinion. Hail Mikkey Dee.
I never even heard of the drummer Mikkey Dee, until I saw this video of him. What I can say is that he is in the same league as Ringo Starr, Charlie Watts, Keith Moon, John Bonham, Neil Peart, Buddy Rich, and who else have you. His drumming ability is nothing short of phenomenal. I hope to see more videos of Mikkey Dee to come.
