Hey man, I know this is a late comment, but if you could answer this it’d be very helpful! What delays should you use for 6/8 time and how do you tap in for that time signature? I’m a Helix user and it would be nice to know a bit more about it...
That's a great question. So delays are based on the bpm...not the time signature. So you would just tap in the bpm (or manually plug it in) and then adjust the decay and time to liking!
Thank you! So in 6/8, would I tap in on the down beat (1,4,6), or would I tap (1,3,5)? For example, dotted 8th delay doesn’t seem to sound the same when I’m playing in 6/8 as it does when I’m in 4/4. Would you know why? Thanks again:)
@@landryhouk7372I know it’s 2 years later but… lol… there’s an option for eight note triplet. That’s what you want when you’re in compound time.
Simple time: 4/4, 3/4, etc.
Compound Time: 6/8, 12/8, etc.
How m/s to get dotted 8th and quarter delay on digital delay like line 6 m5 ??
On the Stomp you can set a digital delay "Scale" to 75%...keep the "Note Sync" at 1/4 and it will give you a dotted 1/8 underneath it...I use this trick all the time!
What’s the purpose of the parameter scale? Does it change its use in simple delay and ping pong’s
Every delay except ping pong have a true stereo path. The scale parameter sets the right side in reference to the left. 100% scale means the right side matches the left 100%. If you decrease the scale, the right side begins dividing to smaller increments. For example, 75% scale of a 1/4 is 3/16 or dotted 1/8th. Hope that helps
