I noticed this trend as well. Even the newer games based on old games (Triple Diamond, Triple Stars) don't seem to pay (frequency) what the old ones did. Something else I noticed is the newer games spin a lot faster and only do a couple revolutions of the reels before stopping. The older games are slower spinning. I burn through my bankroll quicker on new machines just on the speed of operation. Add that to the fact that so many new slots have a damn progressive tied to them that never pays off and its like burning cash on the floor. I still enjoy finding little pockets of old slots and camping there for 2-3 hours. That's all I'm really after anyhow is something to fill out the afternoon. If I win great, but damn don't skin me alive within 30 minutes.
I find the same thing. A good example is old vs. new style Sizzling 7's. There are two casinos near me, one with the new and one with the old. Of the 18 old style machines, 12 $1 and 6 .25¢, they rarely ever exceed more than fifteen dollars over the progressive payouts of $1,000 and $250 respectively before hitting the three sizzling 7's. They also hit three sevens/mixed a lot. Just in a three day period I hit two complete sizzling 7 payouts and about nine or ten all red or mixed sevens between the dollar and quarter machines. At the casino with the newer style cabinets, I've hit three mixed seven hits over the equivalent of almost twelve days and several hundred dollars more on only three .25¢ and three $1 machines. Those machines also go well beyond the progressive reset amount, often more than fifty dollars for the quarter machines and several hundred dollars for the dollar machines, before hitting and resetting. They also hit any other line hit far less frequently. This is a shared experience from conversations with players next to me with regards to the differences between the two casinos. I don't see how IGT hasn't tweaked the math..or perhaps rtp plays a more significant role in payouts on machines that have hundreds of millions, if not hundreds of billions or more of spins on them.
I saw you mentioned 30 minutes.... Last weekend I lost $400 cash in just about 30 minutes, I was SO disappointed & frustrated! The machine I normally sit at was occupied, so I sat at the same one right next to it..... Omg, I never lose $$ THAT damn fast at my "normal" machine!!! 🤦♀️
Yeah I used to go all the time. I took what I planned on losing and just enjoyed going. Before, I would get enough to chase the jackpot, now the bankroll goes straight down with no returns. I can play scratch offs for that and don't even bother going more than once a month if that
I have a friend who gos to MGM 1,2,3 thousand a day he never wins that is greed from the casino because he does not win he now said he will no longer go to the casino.
I TOTALLY AGREE WITH THAT!!! It has become an unbelievable challenge to even break even anymore!! And the new penny machines are NOT penny machines, they are .50 cent machines, .68 cent machines, .88 cent machines and $1.00 machines now. And the payouts are an insult!! You'll get a win for maybe $4.00 playing a .40 cent bet and the machine will flash, "BIG WIN," when that happens. It's become a hypnotizing and mind control experiment. It's as if the casinos are trying to convince the player that such a small win is really a big win!!!
I remember years ago casinos used to have signs all around their slots saying "our slots pay back 97.1%". I never see those signs anymore. Makes me wonder if its much less than that now.
I gambled a lot last year. Won a grand and a few jackpots. Over time, I just kept losing and losing. As I've gambled less, I've noticed my complimentary started to change. No longer getting my complimentary weekend stays. The casino can care less about what you lost last month or the month before. If you're not gambling consistently, they begin to take away. Your free play can take a dip as well. I'm sure that I'm gonna lose my diamond plus status next year. Gambling has its perks, but the winnings isnt consistent enough for me.
Last weekend I was at my favorite casino and I was playing the new Buffalo Ascension slot machine. I got a bonus and it retriggered numerous times. I ended up playing 51 free spins. Granted I was only betting 75 cents but my total bonus was $7.75.
I’ve gotten up to 124 free spins and was betting $1.50 and walked away with $13.40.. I see some peeps win huge on Buffalo games but I ALWAYS have horrible luck
I look at it now as a day away from the daily grind and a personal treat for myself. Win or lose its a fun day playing my favorite slots😅@@clusterfilms2778
I'm a Vegas local and the comps used to flow like water if you were willing to give any property a modest and semi-annual amount of action. Free rooms, resort credit to use on whatever you choose, buffets, shows. It made leaving in the red not feel like such a bad deal because at the end of it all it felt like a great value and entertainment for what you spent. Those days are long gone, even at the locals joints, it's just not the same prior to 2020.
The same thing for me. 12 years ago I would get coupons gallore just for visiting a casino even if I didn't gamble much. I was in Reno for 2 whole weeks last summer figured when I got back I'd be flooded with free room offers. NADA, just $5 free play offers and maybe a free dinner. Getting a free room now is like pulling teeth
@@samonebae53 oh I know! After years of play and thousands of dollars spent at their properties, I'm almost insulted by the $10 weekly free play vouchers they mail me.
My own experience with slots recently has been absolutely horrible. My last casino visit was a disaster. I did see a few people do well but overall, it’s clear that most people are losing. Some more than others obviously. Even those that appear to be winning are probably still losing overall. The big betters will get some nice wins at times but in reality, they’re losing a lot of money overall.
The players are bored? I don't quite buy that. I think game makers came to realize that they could entice people with flashy machines and started paying less per line hits and using bonuses to suck us in... I loved playing $2 max bet Wheel of Fortune dollars and won over 500 many times, even the 1000 spin, but now playing $2 I'm lucky to get $100 in a bonus....
the casino in my area back in 2002 when i was old enough was a busy place. if you found a machine open you better sit and play. Now all the time has passed you can walk in and sit where ever you want almost. the decline in customers is crazy. you would have to walk in a line just to get from one end to the other. now a days you can walk where ever. There are rows and rows of empty seats. i can understand why cause its not enjoyable to go gamble. when a person is not enjoying them self there not coming back. i see so many more people anger gambling and getting mad that they dump 1000 buck and not get one bonus. i dont go as much anymore cause its disappointing to spent all that money i brought and not get entertained at all. i would be better off walking in and throwing it on the floor and walk back out. The new games are going to be the death of casino's
I agree it’s very disappointing and I have found myself watching you tube videos of others playing my favorite slots more entertaining and keeping my money at the house! I won a few major jackpots last year but compared to the money I lost is definitely devastating and eye opening. Have to really regroup & refocus in 2024 It’s not worth alllll the stress, anxiety and leaving freaking broke!!!!
I remember a time if you went on a Saturday night for example, you couldn’t play certain popular games like lightning link because every machine was taken. Now you can show up and generally get to pick which Lightning link game you want at 7pm on a Saturday night. You still probably won’t win but at least you can always seem to play your favorite games without having to wait.
The trend goes back further. Back around 2000, as casinos brought in ticket in ticket out payouts, they also decided that EVERY department needed to make a profit. Buffet prices doubled on average because they were no longer loss leaders to being people into the casino. The total cost to visit a casino has been ratcheting up steadily.
Congratulations on reaching 200K subs. Your channel is top notch and it’s nice to see it being rewarded as such. I hope we are finally able to meet up one of these day soon!
This is helpful... I still feel that over the past 4-5 years, the newer machines started off giving many bonus rounds. Today I play the same machines and there is a definite difference. They HAVE to be changing the win percentages on machines as they age.
They are and people know it. I wish this video would have said that. The cost it takes to create build and distribute the different slot machines are paid for by casinos and therefore taken from slot jackpots. This video should have mentioned that as well.
I go in with $20 regularly lol, found a couple other locals that do the same. They get free beers, play games that have 20 an 40 cent bets and try to build up, if you go straight down (oh well it's $20).
This new years eve i went to Cripple Creek, Colorado with only $100. My last $20 I put in a machine with a $10 max bet per spin and my first spin I hit $1000.... $20 isn't enough, but it's also all you need. @@charliec5449
While I agree with your explanation, I disagree that something else hasn't happened behind the scenes. I have been going to the same local casinos for well over a decade and generally have played the same machines that have been there this whole time. They are not super new slots. For the past few years it has become harder to hit like I used to playing the same denom and same general bet. Actually since casino's reopened after the COVID shutdown is when I really noticed something much different. My money goes quickly, bonus rounds completely suck paying ZERO so many times and line hits are harder to get. I go a lot and play a lot so it's not like I pop in for an hour every week or once a month. If I did that, then perhaps it's just bad timing.
I’ve noticed since July 2023 I can’t even win $100. It’s just been taking no matter how big my bank roll has been. Sometimes I bring $3000 (every other month), and the other times around $500… most I’ve won since July with that budget has been $90… don’t know why. Makes me not want to play with my players card anymore 😫
Maybe this is just my interpretation, but as you say, casinos don’t adjust machines to get more money out of people at certain times etc, but isn’t buying these newer machines that are so very volatile and not having as many low volatile machines available, just their way of getting more money via their game purchases? In other words, since they are purchasing the machines that are harder to win, have more blank spaces and lower than your bet payback, in fact the casinos controlling how much they will allow people to win? Just my deep thoughts. Thanks for all of your videos!
I don't think your interpretation is too far off actually. You are correct that they do not adjust the machines for sure. With the higher volatility games most have much larger payouts that will eventually catch up to them over the course of many years, but all in all I think your assessment is pretty good :-)
@@CowboySlots Hey, while I have you, have you done a video on casino hosts and what that is all about? Thanks for your quick response to my other statement.
Buffalo is probably the best example of a game that has changed so much. The newer versions are much harder to hit on and much higher in volatility than the old versions.
Old timer here. I am glad that they make those flashy games, that's why I gave up gambling! No more classic games. Over the years, they changed the shufflers and then you won less on Pai-Gow. Heck, I remember the Western Casino in Las Vegas near Fremont St where you actually played a penny. And they still brought you a Corona! Not to mention that they introduced all those "resort" fees and paid parking. To hell with them. The other thing is that with the old games is that you got to know your machine. And I'd frequently tip the cocktail waitress for the inside scoop to winning machines. I watch Vegas Matt's channel and I am astounded by the amount that you have to put in and frequently don't get your money back.
Happy New Year!! I have noticed on the newer machines the minimum has gotten higher along with some having oddball bet setup...88 cents to $8.80 bet for example. I personally like the older games as you get more hits typically then dead spins. Ever since I saw your video some time back about telling a more difficult game vs lesser difficult I have always been checking the rules pages to judge. This tip has saved me a few times for sure.
It's not just the slots. I used to play black jack at the tables for a minimum $2 bet. Nowadays there aren't even $5 tables anymore. Most likely I find $20 or $25 minimum bets. I don't play those games anymore.
The Vegas Strip actually posts ( brags) about record setting profits every month or quarterly. I can't imagine that it's because the machines are looser. Went in October, for, perhaps, the last time. It just wasn't fun anymore. May as well burn money in the street.
I used to play at San Manuel, now Yamaava for 25 years. 20 years ago I would go on a Friday and by Saturday morning 6 am id have 3 hand pays. Now I get one every 6 months. My play strategy has always been the same.
It's getting so bad I was like a mile from the casino they already had my 20 dollars lol. They didn't even know I was coming already had the money. I was driving home 😂
Wow. I can’t speak on the casinos 30 years ago, especially since I have only been playing for less than 4 years. What I can speak on, is I only play a couple of machines. In the past year, playing the same machines, at the same bet- there’s a difference and a problem. The machines spin sooo fast now, to take your money quicker, they make me dizzy. Also if you do happen to get a bonus, the machines don’t pay. I have always went in with a certain amount of money, and now I don’t play as much, because they don’t give anything back to play with. The owners have gotten very greedy, and everyone in every state can see this. All machines have a pattern, and the casinos now will give us the same repetitive spins, and we can see they’re exactly the same. I can tell you what is going to show up on the next 10- 15 spins, because of the repetition of the exact same thing. Up until 1 year ago, I would see a lot of hand pays, not anymore. There’s no excuse for the greed of the greedy and rich casino owners. It’s just that simple. TYSM for your video.
totally agree - but this guy will tell you the opposite, 'be responsible when you're playing' , don't blame casinos for your loses', 'you're delusional, casinos don't tight slots machines' - good luck on your quest for winning!
Thank you! I really appreciate your videos. My interest in going to a casino has been going down because of the more i watch your keeping it real videos , I really have no desire to go. I'm content staying home and watching the different channels.
All the Planet Moolah games are a great example of engagement and not paying attention to the line hits. You're always watching the cascading to see if it's going to continue. Which is probably a good thing because those line hits are terrible. Fun games though.
Love the video! I respectfully believe you missed two key things though… 1. Digital slots tend to spin faster, which leads to more spins per hour and more money wagered per hour compared to going “full speed” on a reel machine. 2. Newer slots tend to have larger top prizes and linked/wide-area progressives… which, even with the same net payout percentage, will absolutely affect the short to medium term session return.
IMO, low rollers are funding the hand pays high rollers get. It takes hundreds of losses at minimum bet to cover a jackpot and still leave something for the house’s cut. And the rest of this video’s content is spot on.
High rollers lose bigger money that’s low rollers. High or low roller, it’s a losing proposition. We are all playing games where we bet $100 on heads or tails and if we win, we win $90.
Three scatters used to pay AND trigger the bonus round. That’s one type of win x2. Machines had basic play and a bonus round. Now it’s like three or even four machines in one. You have a free spin bonus, line hits, wilds, lock and link bonus, coins to collect up top, all blocking each other. Too many in one game means they block and cancel each other out. Also a min bet on nickels used to be 45 cents for 9 lines. Many machines have very high minimum bets now.
Agree, the play and the payouts are not the same as before.... $100s are going fast... No fun My guess that casinos are studying slot channels very closely, seems that they have tightened up quite a bit after re-opening ... And then some more after the growth of the slot channels community.. And, because of the inflation on the top of everything else.. Just a though....
You’re so right! I do remember when casinos entered more states via river boats (early 90’s) the lowest slot to play was a quarter, there were very few machines that had penny or nickel or dime…yo could go with $60 and seemed that was a good start. By the late 90’s lots of penny machines, less quarters and 50cent and multiple coin options! Looking back it felt like casinos were grooming us to play higher denom! It’s always easier to blame the casino!😂😂😂
Brantley, you were right on with yr descriptions. Was wondering, will u be attending the Foxwoods Slot-a-thon on Jan 12/13? I heard abt it on Marc's site and he will be there. Was so hoping u are. I'm going. I'm in MA.
I was hitting more frequently. Now, I call it "You gotta feed them a couple of hundred to get them to play." ...or so it seems. And, they seem to cycle.
Simply had to share New Year’s Eve, playing my favorite slot at Hollywood Casino, Columbus Ohio rich little piggy burst all three pigs and wouldn’t you know it my big huge bonus was a kid not $1.02. You have got to be freaking kidding me great graphics, great videos great music $1.02. They should be ashamed goes to prove Cowboys slots point in this video they suck as sand and then buyer beware happy new year.
I played Buffalo Gold when it first came to the casino . It was interesting and fun to play. You could actually win something ,large or small, and on occasion large handpays. Now it seems to payout less with no large handpays either. Is this my imagination or is something different with Buffalo Gold? I know you don't program machines anymore but do you have any ideas?
Thanks so much! I really enjoy watching your videos. I have not gambled alot and never understood all the games & was a little intimidated by them. I recently visited Vegas and wish I had seen your videos before that trip, but am looking forward to trying my luck with your suggestions on my next trip.
Happy New Year, I went down the street to the casino on New Year eve and I played my favorite slots and hardly even got a line pay 😢 when normally I win a good amount of money, everyone around me kept saying that they had been playing and not winning so I left really bummed 🙁.
Back in 2000s, you'd see billboards with statements like "best payback rates, 92.4%" where the casinos were bragging about and competing with their payback rates. Don't see those billboards anymore, in fact, there's ZERO mention of what the payback rate is. I suspect because MS Gaming allowed a change in payback percentage or the casinos worked together to not announce the paybacks.
Great info video! Slots 30 years ago compared to todays slots are like comparing model T's to Maserati's. OMG. Most people want 3 pots of gold to burst every bonus round etc. I like old slots triple 7's, DD, even pinball is simple compared to most slots.
Casinos around Michigan continue to add high volatility slots, I love the older three reel slots. Slot palace at Soaring Eagle Casino and Turtle Creek Casinos are my 2 favorite place to play slots in Michigan because they have more of these older machines. Wish they would have more of them at the casinos on the strip at quarter denom, that would make my trips a little more fun!
I agree with stimulating effects. Watching more slot channels makes me realize this. Why do i play Tabasco? So I can listen to the cheesy music while im losing my money and every once and awhile yell out AIIIIEEEEEE!! when i get a decent hit. I wont dare play that game without the proper sound card
My wife today playing turned the sound all the way down on I ❤ Free games, she felt the noise that hits when the "free games" dropped actually hurt. That was pretty interesting to me, you can actually feel that each time like It hits you a tad through sound.
Great info. People really need to heed these tips to maximize their casino enjoyment. Especially if you are going for multiple days. You really need to budget in those situations.
Love the video and I completely understand the content, but between myself and several other family members … the overall feeling is Vegas strip casinos are tight ever since just before the F1, while casinos off the strip seem to be paying out more frequently. I can also say my last trip was to Laughlin, NV and my experience was slots were ok, but in my second last day there, a whole bunch of new machines came in and they were constantly paying out (like they wanted to draw people to play the new machines). I know it seems stupid, but apparently everyone else thought the same thing as there wasn’t one empty seat on the new machines. Love the videos, just sharing my experience.
thx bradley from what iv learned from you i knew all you were goin to say here but we both know other people are just starting out and need to hear this so well done on this video today, great for newbies to learn
I saw recently that when slots are made the maker asks the casinos buying them at what win percentage they want them set at. So the machine arrives at the casino with the % of win already set in the machine. Is this true?
I play/played the same machines (about five) long term. All five hit bonuses less often, give smaller line hits and money. It isn’t inflation in those cases, slowdown was after the C19 shutdowns. It is no fun to feel like you are going to war with your money and their narrative.
It sure does SEEM like it. You'll see games that seem hot and everyone online is playing in their video. Great bonuses etc. Take huff and more puff for example. Almost every video I see and my own personal play the bonuses are TERRIBLE especially for how hard that game seems to be to get them or even a decent line hit. It very much feels like a switch is flipped.
one of the reasons i like to use my card is to follow my roi based on points earned vs money bet . easy to tell if the machine is dead. also this vid explains why lately its been tough getting on the older slots in the casino while some of the real new ones set empty unless the casinos is packed. a couple casinos ive been to lately have been at about 1/3 capacity on a friday or saturday night. before covid they were packed on those nights so much to the point it wasn't even fun to go as the machines were all busy. a lot aren't even back to 24 hrs yet !
The paylines on most machines suck, you have to pop something to get a bonus that can take forever, and the progressive always pays the friggin mini...
Great video. I remember quarter slots back in the 80's. I was introduced to them when our commander of my military station installed two of them in the NCO quarters. It would normally take around three dollars (12 rolls) or so before a line hit and guys would get quite upset because they played expecting a profit. The new machines hit more pay lines, but pay a lot less. I have never gone gambling for profit, always for entertainment. Even back when slots started I knew they were (and still are) "a tool for a business to make a profit, not necessarily the players". If people would remember this, they would be a lot better off and have a lot more fun at the casino. Thanks again for your helpful information👍❤️.
Back in 2008 or so, the profits from the MWR slot program in Europe and Japan were enough to build "Shades of Green", a hotel at Disney World that is available to military personnel and federal employees on a sliding scale basis.
Always good advice on this channel. I always look for the old school $1, 1-line, 3-reel slots. If I can't find any, I will start looking for older poker machines. I try to stay away from the penny video machines, but just as you say, it's getting harder & harder to find the old stuff.
Iv'e only been playing for about 5 years but I'm wired opposite of these test people. if the machine bugs out over nothing I'll just stop playing because it's annoying.
I have an antique Bally Giant Jackpot 4-reel from Dublin Ireland that I zip tied the handle lockout. I've pulled that handle walking in and out of my shop for 24 years now and the most I've ever got was four oranges. My machine does have weights screwed to the reels; it was like that when I bought it.
Sounds like my Hay Wire quarter machine! It was my Dads in his game room. When he passed, it was given to me. I have had it for ten years! In all of those years it has hit the Wild/Wild/Wild Twice! Both of those times were a year apart.
One of the factor also is the owner of casino getting greedy, they want more money and just think their self. As if they can bring the money into their grave.
Hi cowboy slots. Hope u had a great Xmas and wish you all the best for this year. I live in the UK and went to Vegas in 2014, 2018 and 2023 and the one thing I did notice straight away was that before I used to get a run for my money with $20, I now find that's now got to be $50. lol best wishes and great channel
I definitely prefer the older style games. I especially dislike all the new "video" slots rather than actual spinning wheels. If I want to play video games, I can just stay at home and gamble on my computer. Bring back the reels!
Stay away from the penny $lot area. Play in the high limit room on the lowest denomination if you can. Also, the least volital, simplest $lot$ there. I go to the Top Dollar $lot, and the Konami Raw Hide $lot @ my local ca$ino. I win 7 to 8 times out of 10 🎉
Really great video thanks! Another thing that has also changed is the psychology the machines are programmed with. Slot machines manipulate the payout percentage, by giving very small but regular "wins". Many regular small "wins" of $2, or as you refer to, amounts that are smaller than the bet, which you just use to continue playing for, count towards the payout percentage, and can amount up to, for example, 80% payback. So if a slot machine is set to pay out 90%, there is only 10% left for the bigger wins, like a bonus or jackpots. This applies to both low and high volatility. Those who create these machines know that there is a risk that if a player wins a jackpot, he or she might walk away with the money, so it is therefore safer to give players regular small wins of max 2$. As I said, this can apply to both high and low volatility. It could be really great if cowboy slots could make a video about this concept, where you look at small wins and how they affect the payout percentage. You can probably explain it better than I can.
My experience has been if it gives you small hits less than what you put in per pull, then it's likely a high volatility machine and you need to hit a bonus game in order to win or just break even. I'll stick to low volatility machines and nickel and dime the casino to death! 💰
Huff and more Puff is the poster child for crappy line hits and only paying if you hit the bonus. Even then, you better get at least one gold house or it’s still awful. Mansion feature is amazing of course but I would guess you have probably a 1 in a 1000 chance of getting that when you spin the wheel. Most of the time it’s the mega hat, which is basically the same as the normal hat bonus. I did finally get the bonus recently, twice even. But they were just average, both in the $50-$55 range on a $2.50 bet. Not nearly good enough in my opinion.
The downfall of casinos as far as the customer goes...was when they got rid of the "family" in Vegas. When the corps took over Vegas then every dept.had to make money. The family was soooo much better at taking care of the customers. Vegas was safer back then as well.
2 things ,1 the casino near me feels super tight the past three months no hits at all nothing to build on very frustrating and not fun. 2 this casino also cut free play that I earn that's normally 80 100$ down to 30$ or less with out warning I reached icon level and just feel like they lowered free play cause they added real caps and roulette tables
Sounds like the Seminoles here in South Florida. They don't pay out anything anymore. I had 11 handpays in 2021, 6 in 2022, and NONE in 2023. I play the same amount, and play the same way. It's crazy
That's why I don't entirely believe this guy. I think they definitely control the slots, there is just no way, with what I've seen it would just be too much of a coincidence
Seminole tribe casinos are tough. Last week in Tampa, I played a dozen machines. Blasted through $1150.00. Tried changing bets/denoms, you name it. I am sick and tired of losing all the time. I am not a sore loser. However, since this Covid BS, things have changed. The most disgusting part of this is the next day I received a congratulatory email saying I earned $15 in freeplay! WTF is that? I better hurry back in as it's only valid for 2 weeks! I am over it.
Yes i remember when i turned 21 back in 2001 and my first trip to Vegas. Most machines if you hit a J Q K symbol line hit you won your bet back or break even. If you got 3 As and up you would actually win some money. Now most slots unless you get the special or themed symbols you will not win your bet back you will win some money but not enough to cover your bet. Then it went into overdrive, now it almost seems like if you don't get a bonus you will not win jack squat especially on aristocrat games(the biggest manufacturer). Line hits are becoming extinct.
Great video-as always! Thank you for all you do for us slot players! Question-what are your thoughts (have you reviewed) on the Buffalo Ultimate Stampede? Seems like a pretty decent game. Thank you in advance!
Oklahoma Pocola is so tight every time I go there and I go a lot and different times a day. They have many attendants and no one is getting paid. I know from experience over 15 years of going almost everyday. Different machines and all over the place.
I remember, back in 2006, playing a quarter 1 line machine for 5 hours, w/$25, had a blast too and walked away w/$75; while my best friend was playing $1 machines and had lost over $4k within the same 5 hour period.
There are so many other factors besides the slots that are making many properties not worth it anymore. Many places have incorporated resort fees, parking fees, less comps, much poorer payouts, more expensive dining options, and are price gouging the players in pretty much any and every way that they can. I haven't been to Vegas in over 15 years because of the greed and fees and have no intention of going back.
The old school slots used to give more play..like triple star where triple and matching blue or white sevens came up..but not for the last couple years and still l play the old school slots cuz I dislike the new machines..lucky I can find a few at a couple casinos up where I live..casino are tight
I recently discovered a slot machine that is very entertaining, Invaders from Planet Moolah! I first saw this slot at Sunset Casino in Henderson, NV. I saw someone playing and the bonus rounds were so hilarious. My wife and I sat together and I put in $100. We were like kids again, glued to the screen like it was a Saturday morning from back in the day! LOL. We hit one bonus round that gave us 30 free spins, and we turned that $100 into $340. We took that cash and went to the Oyster Bar to enjoy a panroast. I've been playing this slot about once a week now and I mostly end up losing my $100, but I really don't mind that because it's all about the fun I'm having playing this slot machine.
Don't forget the greed of the resorts when they charge you resort fees on top of your room price without even telling you until they give you the bill. Free parking is a thing of the past as well and forget the price of restaurants. Comps are almost nonexistent now as well. And don't even get me started on Indian casinos. They have no regulations whatsoever. Avoid them like the plague. I quit gambling long ago because I could see the writing on the wall.
I saw a few of your videos about Pinball and how much you liked it, so I went on a cruise and saw it and that machine would not pay me anything. I put a few hundred dollars through it without hitting really anything more than maybe $10.
I always learn from your videos ... even with your method its hard to build up. I've tried several times, most I've won was$320 once in 6 months. My luck 🤔
It's funny cause I see it with lots of the newer machines. I play the Ainsworth machines at like 2.50 bets maybe 5.00 and those seem to have the best kickbacks usually close to the bet amount or slightly higher most of the time and give decent bonuses.
hi cowboy : my question is do manufactures plan in there software after so many plays the software changes to another option so that what you as the player cant get back to that win you always had playing the same bet at the same machine? ill use buffalo machines as an example. in the past you could get row of buffalo's in the first or second row now it almost unheard of to get them. same machine ( older version) . thanks again for the great information
Hi Brantley, Thank you for this video. :) I'm curious though, you're saying that there were penny machines back in the 90's... what town had penny machines back then? I'm asking because I know Atlantic City didn't have penny machines then. As far as I know, Atlantic City didn't have nickel machines back then either...
I know Conan is probably one of these volatile slots that you speak of, but I absolutely get a kick out of playing this game. I don't do that bad on it either. Do you have any thoughts on Conan?
I used to just take about $60, took 450$ for 4 days. It does cost me more, but also more features on slots. I played a penny Top dollar at Circa in Las Vegas this weekend, they had two of top dollar 1 cents, was $4.50 for a top bet (9 lines). Did pretty good first times, night I played it, went back but didn’t have as good of luck. I did play quarters at 1.25 bet, (money machine I think it was called, gives you amounts like the top dollar).
At the casino with the newer style cabinets, I've hit three mixed seven hits over the equivalent of almost twelve days and several hundred dollars more on only three
.25¢ and three $1 machines.
In some slot you can control the speed …
I saw you mentioned 30 minutes.... Last weekend I lost $400 cash in just about 30 minutes, I was SO disappointed & frustrated! The machine I normally sit at was occupied, so I sat at the same one right next to it..... Omg, I never lose $$ THAT damn fast at my "normal" machine!!! 🤦♀️
It’s not inflation anymore, it’s greedflation. Many casinos are losing business because the slots are so tight in my opinion.
Yeah I used to go all the time. I took what I planned on losing and just enjoyed going. Before, I would get enough to chase the jackpot, now the bankroll goes straight down with no returns. I can play scratch offs for that and don't even bother going more than once a month if that
Agree
I have a friend who gos to MGM 1,2,3 thousand a day he never wins that is greed from the casino because he does not win he now said he will no longer go to the casino.
Also, greedflation exists across all business. Blame higher prices on inflation while having record profits and margins.
Granted I was only betting 75 cents but my total bonus was $7.75.
wow...insane
Ridiculous! Same happened to me with Moolah.
Now that's highway robbery
You really nailed it when you said SELF CONTROL. I have to learn that when I am ahead, leave the casino.
The station casinos have gotten really stingy!
@@samonebae53 oh I know! After years of play and thousands of dollars spent at their properties, I'm almost insulted by the $10 weekly free play vouchers they mail me.
@@phillyblaze777bingo!!!! Such a insult
You are absolutely right you felt like it was a give-and-take situation it was so much fun now it's take take take
My own experience with slots recently has been absolutely horrible.
Have to really regroup & refocus in 2024
It’s not worth alllll the stress, anxiety and leaving freaking broke!!!!
Lol agree
Thank you very much! Always enjoy your channel! Hope to see you soon!
This is the Colab we didn't know we needed! Please get together and gamble 🤑❤🎰
Those machines will pay for themselves in a matter of months! Casino's are multi billion dollar businesses!
I go in with $20 regularly lol, found a couple other locals that do the same. They get free beers, play games that have 20 an 40 cent bets and try to build up, if you go straight down (oh well it's $20).
I can't imagine $20 giving you much play in today's casino.
That's a local joint , not flashy brand new like ,Foutian Bleu.
I don't blame you one bit and feel the same. The casinos in California don't have to show their RTP and I'm sure they're not as much as Nevada.
@@jp13119 I haven’t noticed that they show them in Oklahoma either
I win $200 after I put 500 and the machine pays $700. Have to lose 500 before you win
@@jp13119yamaava sent me my win loss. Only lost 13k last year. That's a lie lol. More like 25
Maybe this is just my interpretation, but as you say, casinos don’t adjust machines to get more money out of people at certain times etc, but isn’t buying these newer machines that are so very volatile and not having as many low volatile machines available, just their way of getting more money via their game purchases?
Buffalo slots have definitely tightened down in the last few years, In Florida and Biloxi MS both
Buffalo is probably the best example of a game that has changed so much.
I watch Vegas Matt's channel and I am astounded by the amount that you have to put in and frequently don't get your money back.
went from going to casinos once a week to once amonth to once a year and now never more
Happy New Year!!
8 is a lucky number in China. They know who their customers are.
It's not just the slots. I used to play black jack at the tables for a minimum $2 bet. Nowadays there aren't even $5 tables anymore. Most likely I find $20 or $25 minimum bets. I don't play those games anymore.
you can find $10-$15 BJ out there at times and at places with the full 3-2
I respectfully believe you missed two key things though…
Both of those are true as well!
Up here in Washington State things have gotten very expensive, and the casinos definitely reflect that.
No fun
My guess that casinos are studying slot channels very closely, seems that they have tightened up quite a bit after re-opening ...
I'm going. I'm in MA.
Yes it's inflation, before the pandemic I was winning a lot more with smaller bets.
I was hitting more frequently. Now, I call it "You gotta feed them a couple of hundred to get them to play." ...or so it seems. And, they seem to cycle.
It's all greed! Pisses you off when you get a 2-5 cent line hit on a $2 bet!
You are so welcome!
I will say my local MGM has a large amount of older slots including in high limit, but the other casino has very few.
Extremely intriguing concept how "entertaining the slot gambler" (almost similar to t.v.) can be excruciating costly...
Great video🎉
I stopped playing slots. Just kept loosing my money....
thx bradley from what iv learned from you i knew all you were goin to say here but we both know other people are just starting out and need to hear this so well done on this video today, great for newbies to learn
I watch this channel often, solid advice, I enjoy visiting the casinos near where I live, and his tips, advice and knowledge is very helpful...
I appreciate that!
Seem is definitely a keyword. Huff and more puff is a great example of a new game that is super high in volatility.
one of the reasons i like to use my card is to follow my roi based on points earned vs money bet . easy to tell if the machine is dead. also this vid explains why lately its been tough getting on the older slots in the casino while some of the real new ones set empty unless the casinos is packed. a couple casinos ive been to lately have been at about 1/3 capacity on a friday or saturday night. before covid they were packed on those nights so much to the point it wasn't even fun to go as the machines were all busy. a lot aren't even back to 24 hrs yet !
Really appreciate you Brantley, thanks so much for this information!🎉🎉🎉👍👍👍
I win 7 to 8 times out of 10 🎉
I was thinking that, but a friend of mine hit 1400, 1800 and 1700 on the same machine within 45 minutes on new yrs eve.
Love your channel.
I play strictly video poker and I notice less frequent payouts as well as odds changing casino to casino for the same games.
Thanks Brantley for this info. Also, congrats on reaching 200,000!
Those were the days !! So much fun. Don't forget all the food & drink specials
It's crazy
Yup seminole casino coconut creek has changed last few months and it's brutal
That's why I don't entirely believe this guy. I think they definitely control the slots, there is just no way, with what I've seen it would just be too much of a coincidence
I don't believe he's wrong on this and other topics, I just think something ain't wright.
Thanks for the information. I noted that you didn’t mention the increased gambling profits of the casinos in Vegas.
@CowboySlots
Nice Wooden Roulette Wheel in the background and your Slot Machines. Your the coolest person ever Brantley. 🙂👍
Very interesting history of slots. Thanks Brantley. Great video.
I like your commentary.
It makes me think about how to approach any given video gaming machine.
Happy New Year. Thank you for your help all year.
The buffalo games are hard ! I’ve only hit once on them . The dancing drums is the only one that pays often
Love your advice thank you happy new year😊
I saw a few of your videos about Pinball and how much you liked it, so I went on a cruise and saw it and that machine would not pay me anything. I put a few hundred dollars through it without hitting really anything more than maybe $10.
What determines how much you will win in a bonus. Is it determined at the start of the game, start of the bonus , at the start of each free spi

Fun facts🎉 thanx Cowboy❤
I always learn from your videos ... even with your method its hard to build up. I've tried several times, most I've won was$320 once in 6 months. My luck 🤔
It's funny cause I see it with lots of the newer machines. I play the Ainsworth machines at like 2.50 bets maybe 5.00 and those seem to have the best kickbacks usually close to the bet amount or slightly higher most of the time and give decent bonuses.
When I played slots years ago on a dollar machine you hit three bars you won 100$ also on roulette use to pay 50$ for a single number 🎉❤
Roulette has ALWAYS been 35-1 on a single number bet.
@DiamondDon19 now some casinos have 000 Roulette 😢
@@visamanI know, never play it!
hi cowboy : my question is do manufactures plan in there software after so many plays the software changes to another option so that what you as the player cant get back to that win you always had playing the same bet at the same machine? ill use buffalo machines as an example. in the past you could get row of buffalo's in the first or second row now it almost unheard of to get them. same machine ( older version) . thanks again for the great information
Thank you! This was awesome
I stopped hitting slots a couple years unless I am given free play. No comps, no play. I give my money to the sportsbooks now 😂
I know Conan is probably one of these volatile slots that you speak of, but I absolutely get a kick out of playing this game.
