- Swing Wide, It's a F***** Trailer!. This is where the saying SWING WIDE IT'S A F**** TRAILER comes from! Not sure exactly how it happened but this driver made a catastrophic mistake and got caught on a concrete pole while entering a yard. Alex was dispatched in Big Flipper, our 75ton rotator, to handle this job.
The video is not long because he did this job so quick. While it looks crazy, the process is super simple for an easy "pick and swing". Using Bailey's slings, he went behind the DOT bumper for a direct vertical lift. Once he was clear from the pole, the trailer was lifted then swung so it can be set back down free and clear from the pole.
Even when you factor in setting up the truck and putting the truck away, including the outriggers, rigging and the boom/cables, he was only on scene for maybe 25 minutes. That is FAST but when you do this for a living, you know how to safely clear a scene fast and safe. Luckily the trailer wall didn't tear open or the axles get shifted which can happen during these types of accidents. The driver's air lines were still intact so after he was freed from the pole he was able to drive away from the entrance and wait for repair service.

why did you use the shackles and not connect hook directly to the straps
To protect the straps. Run your fingers on the inside of a snatch block. Rough isn’t it ? You don’t want your straps in there under pressure and risk damaging them. The inside of a snatch block is not smooth.

First time watching, but looks like a pretty cool Channel.. I drive a truck , I see these recoveries on a somewhat regular basis. I hear other drivers on the CB bitching about how long it takes to clear a scene.. that's the dumbasses that have no idea what it takes to do your job.. I just want to tell you a lot of us do, and respect you for what you do!!!

I'm asking that all tow truck businesses on RUclips please help me as I'm also a single tow truck operator please help spread the word on your video and speak out against us being segregated and outed on this lawsuit for the fire retardent foam lawsuits that they're only accepting fire department and military! It's very wrong because we are the ones that are suffering We are the ones that are covered in that crap You know that and I know that every time we had to pull a vehicle that's burned onto the back of our flatbed tow trucks and we get soaked in it getting under the vehicles chaining up to it dragging it onto the tow truck bed and then letting it sit in our yards I'm asking that you please help speak out make a video on your channel I'm only one voice but many voices together on this platform can make a difference and bring awareness to this lawsuit because it's not fair The fire department only sprays it we're the ones who get the bad end of it our yards are soaked in this crap and where the ones who are taking the full effect having to lay in it gets soaked in it hooking up the cars You know this Ron and I do because we work in the same industry as partners it's tow life baby let's hold each other's back please push this out!

@@PepesTowingService no I think you need to show a little thing called professional courtesy and I can assure you I wouldn't use your services because somebody gets to an accident this that and the other the last thing they want is that crap everywhere as a matter of fact I've actually had trucks break down in that area and I would not use your services because of your RUclips channel and the fact that you don't actually blur out and on top of that you're charging the customer money for that toe and you're making money off the RUclips video and you're putting their company in a negative

Sometimes they're stupid people, but I think a lot of times they're smart people having a stupid day.
How does truck driver videos like this scare I don't care who you are when your job in the semi truck you're a going to screw something up you're going to make a mistake even when it's blinking all this but you should have done have done a you're all going to make mistakes and that's why I'm very hesitant about criticizing another driver because that stupidity could be me on a very day
