I think this guy could sell anything to anybody
The accent helps too lol
He made me so much more excited for an epiphone standard that I already had.. which .. I was literally beginning to get tired of lol .. but I just pulled it out the closet JUST TO SEE IF IT GOT BETTER lmao
@@JaimeLopez-bc3fr they can have her for 4
I wouldnt buy anything off this guy... Im sticking with andertons...
Huckster Supreme!!!
I bought one about 6 months ago, it plays like a dream. My friend and I (who has the Gibson version) played them side by side and they sounded so similar. You really can't go wrong with this guitar. If anyone is debating whether to pull the trigger on one or not, GO FOR IT!!
I got mine today. Blown away by it! Totally agree with you. 👍🔥🎸
Damn i pulled the trigger on it and it fell apart :(
whats more important guitar or amp Im currently using a used fender mexican strat but using a basic fender amp. Wondering if the epiphone will work better?
@@dmac5678It depends on the type of music you play and what settings you have your amp set on. If you like the more twangy/peaceful sound then Strat but if you like the more heavy/muggy sound then Les Paul. I would say strat is a bit more versatile except if you have a humbucker in the bridge or Hot Rail, but the Les Paul is very versatile as well
Probably, possibly if not definitly the best guitar reviewer on RUclips. You just sold me this guitar in my head mate!
I bought this exact guitar.
I don't know how to play it yet though.
ANDERTONS (ESPECIALLY LEE AND ROB) ARE MILES BETTER THAN THIS PRAT
@@-strwberri-512
It might take a few years before I know better.
I did just buy a 40 watt Marshall tube amp that cost more used than the guitar did.
I'd suggest buying a used guitar. The only reason I bought mine new is because the seller does a setup on new guitars before they go out.
Not sure why people hate the headstock I think it looks alright
Sean Myers because if you drop it... Chances are the headstock will come off
New Life what would stop it from happening on a Gibson that’s why bolt on necks are the best
Gibson did a series a while back called the 70's tribute, if I was set on owning a Gibson I would buy on of those, as it has a small piece of wood at the back of the neck which helps prevent headstock breakages. The new Epiphone Les Paul Studio LT series have a bolt on neck I believe. Another option is to get an Ltd EC series guitar, it has a mahogany neck but has a volute, the 256 has alot of the Gibson specs but also has modern features (like a body cutaway and better upper fret access.
Personally I like the shape of the headstock...I'm not one to say much though, I like basically anything. 😂
Headstocks a headstock people
I just got one in ebony. Immidetly in love with it, perfectly set up right out of the box, sounds amazing! I'm very happy with it
Same here. Right out of the box all was good. Quality now is far better than it was before. Mines a keeper.
Bought a Epi LP Standard in Tea Burst yesterday it is an amazing guitar for the money amazing tone and sustain!
Very happy with my purchase for sure.
How much did you guys pay? Had one in my basket for months is gorgeous .. £620.00 its an ebony
@@StratBurst92 Hey, how are you? Since when do you think they are better? I want to buy a used one? Is one from 2011-2015 a good choice? Are the new ones with the "Inspired by Gibson" label even better or they are basically the same guitar?
I’m getting one for my birthday, I’m getting a sunburst I’m so excited I’ve been playing for about a year and a half
Can’t lie I’m a lil bit jealous I want a cherry sunburst
I’m getting an ebony or a sunburst
i got the cherry one
Me too
I had the sunburst about 20 years ago. Would love another one
I swear this guy could sell me an empty water bottle 😂
MPH Official band channel 😂😂😂
its a bloody empty water bottle great its remarkable and unmatched for portably bringing hydration where ever you go
😁
I had the left handed version of this in the same color. This thing can literally play any genre and sound good. I played everything from Ed Sheeran to Fit for an Autopsy on it (with some string gauge changes) and it sounded amazing. Good enough to make my windows vibrate during the chorus of Black Mammoth.
could u play nirvanaa gun n roses and metelica lol im not expecting to play slipknot but could u
Are the frets high?
What gauge you use to play ffaa stuff? Did you tune it to drop G? Can the guitar handle that downtuning?
I have 3 Epiphone Les Pauls...
2008 Standard-black
2019 1960 Tribute Plus-faded cherry
2020 Tommy Thayer-Electric Blue
All fantastic guitars & I love all of 'em.
I just got the ebony , very good building quality, I think the neck is the best , pickups for clean performing very smoothly. Value for money guitar !
I'm thinking of buying it. Can you give me more details about it?
He’s actually an amazing guitarist
I own one of these guitars there bloody amazing
Love your reviews. The nice no bullshit method and your good smooth playing and your amazingly scientific voice.
I tried one at a guitar store... GET ONE, THEY ARE AMAZING!!
I have a 2008 model that's been upgraded with Seymour Duncan sh1/59 pickup set, black pickup rings, pickguard and knobs from a real Gibson Les Paul. It's amazing
I just bought an Epi LP Standard in Tea Burst yesterday and I have to agree simply amazing guitar for sure and definitely worth the money
I respect this guy and his knowledge. He also does one of the best reviews when guy need to know what to buy
This video was a big influence on me buying this guitar! Just got it in ebony yesterday and I love it!
I own a 2005 epiphone les Paul custom midnight and it’s one of my best sounding guitars
I just got one of those, that same color too. its great, I love it !
We hope it serves you well!
I could care about the name and look as long as it gets close to THAT TONE, plays smoothly, and stays in tune.
I've recorded many songs using an epiphone les Paul... Nothing les amazing
Nothing LESS amazing??
@@evs251 (Les Paul les amazing joking uknooow)
@@evs251 r/wooooooosh
@@Elias-ei7ks he's not wooshing, he's asking if the dude is saying the les Paul sucks...
Same
Just got this same one yesterday, im in Love!!
Hey thanks. I was thinking about a les Paul and this gave me my final decision.
IM A STRAT GUY BUT IM HUGE PAGE AND SLASH FAN!!!!! I HAVE THE NEW SATRIANI MOJO BRIDGE AND A 59 PAF NECK SO CANT WAIT IM GETTING THEM PUT IN TODAY CANT WAIT!!!!!!
I got off of work and headed to guitar center just a few minutes b4 they closed tn. I just picked up a used epiphone les paul and ies amazing
Dagan ROCKS! Everyone agree?
I am about to order this one, you sold it in my face kid! just got the money and I am now buying it! I'll re-edit this comment when I already ordered it!
I guess you never got it
My only dilema owning this is scratch plate on or off. Looks so superb both ways!
In all honesty, I prefer Epiphone Les Pauls over Gibson's. In my experience they have better tuning stability. Not sure why that would be, but it's my experience.
Just got this exact guitar, love everything about it. Except it's the new one with the kalamazoo headstock
I just bought one of these in the best possible color....which happens to be the same ebony with cream binding that is shown in this video. Im a player of 20+ years and SADLY I lost my Gibson SG faded special years ago, the one with halfmoon inlays and ebony fretboard. I have many other cool guitars but losing that SG has bothered me almost daily for 10 years now. I was finally in a position to replace it and when I went to try the current version of that SG I just didn't care for it anymore....and when I saw this Epiphone LP in that gorgeous color and especially after I tried it out I couldn't possibly resist it. It's an amazing guitar that is EVERY bit as good as it's American sisters (or brothers... everyone views guitar gender differently 😉). Idk if my tastes had changed or if the new version of the SG I used to have just isn't the same or what, but tbh I don't care....this Epiphone LP standard is VERY VERY good. If you are considering trying to buy into Gibson at the 600-800$ range (which is bottom of the shelf for Gibson), if you seriously care about ANYTHING other than the brand name on the headstock you owe it to yourself to try the epiphones. They are FAR better than you may think, and this Epiphone LP standard for 499.99 (525 or so total) is BETTER than the 800$+ Gibson bottom of shelf models. And I don't mean a little better, I mean sonically better, better playability, far better cosmetics, far more polished and no rough edges....they are MUCH better.
I may have one of those Faded brown SG specials for sale in the future. (the one with ebony board and crescent moons) Mine has been lefty converted.
Just got one 5 days ago...Amazing guitar for 500.00. Nooo complaints at all.....Now my 15 year old son also plays and he has a Ibanez,,,,guess whos gonna con me for a trade???☹and I just Knowwwwwww he will get it...😎🎸
So glad my Epi has ProBuckers!!!
So everything’s lovely... okay... I’m sold!
I had a gibby LP studio until the neck broke then I bought an epiphone traditional 3 and like it better. It sounds better than the gibby for recording.
I have this exact guitar in these exact colors and I love it
Get one. They are almost identical to a Gibson. In fact I watched a video of a very knowledgeable guitarist do a blindfold test between the two, he obviously could not touch the headstock. He could not tell which was which.
I removed the pickup plates on LP Standard and sounds a lot better, a brighter sound, it sounded a little dark with the plates on, these alnico classic actually have quality
Some technical specifications about controls knobs & togfle switch etc would be appreciated
Epiphone makes all your sounds epic 🔥
had one...black..great...and your demo was true and great.
hello i have a problem 🥲 the 3 high notes doesnt sound the same with the 3 bass notes
what i mean is that the volume of the 3 high notes is low and i wanna play lead on it 😭
did you ever figure it out i literally stopped playing mine bc i was over it and didnt want to get pedals just to fix it
looking into a new guitar either way and trying to decide between replacing the les paul or getting something completely different
I own this guitar same paint job and everything I also have the same EXACT strap too lol
How is the guitar? I've been playing for 16 years and I want to reward myself with a new guitar (for backup on gigs, and a different new sound)
A friend of mine has one, I’ve played it countless times and it plays great, a tad heavy but a really nice sound
@@CJ_YT. it's awesome. I just got mine last week. It sounds and feels fantastic. However the strap button near the neck stripped out. Maybe it's just poor drilling. But nothing a drill, hardwood dowel, and wood glue can't fix!
True that, planning on getting the trans amber one for myself
I literally just started playing gutar and bought my first guitar (squier bullet strat) and amp. (vox pathfinder 10) but les paul is my dream guitar, so i really craving to buy this one for my next guitar!
Awesome review dude
This guy has such a cool accent
He’s right.
Maybe my next guitar
The new ones of these are awesome I just got the gibson inspired one
I’ll definitely be saving up for a gold top
Is it worth buying a pre owned les Paul standard?
3:45 I thought you said something quite different lol. (arsenal) Entertaining as always.
I love this guitar I'm going to save same money to buy it
Sounds nothing like that when i do it!
I love it..
Great sound and structure nature guitar smooth sound
I also own an epiphone standard i really love the tone n so heavy lol
Yeah, black stone cherry 🤟🏼
what is that at the start its great
Getting this for my Christmas... should I?
Conor 98 I have guitars... but I don’t own them. Like I didn’t pay for them
Conor 98 you might have to RUclips that one I have no idea. You mean like from the amp or the guitar? Like can you play on every single fret?
I mean I’m not really an expert on guitars so I really have no idea.
SRV’S starts had rosewood boards just his signature model has pay ferro board but that came out like 15-20 years after he died.
Any chance for Epiphone Les Paul Studio review?
What was that song in the beginning? Sounds epic
Opening riff kind of sounds like a Metallica inspired riff
but can you turn it up to 11 ?
Oh, man, the pickup in this Epiphone sounds awful with that Alnico V magnet. I am so glad they revamped the whole line and added the Alnico II ProBuckers.
I had an epi les paul standard in that same color, it was great, sadly had to sell it recently to pay some bills. It's a great guitar but it is bottom heavy.
Please do a sound comparison between epi standard vs epi standard pro
Can't give you a comparison video, but I have this epiphone, the standard black, and a mate has the epiphone custom silverburst, that one definitly sounds more crisp and less muddy. (Also much thinner neck)
What kind of pool cue did Minnesota Fats use? Its not the poker it's the stroker. If it will tune shred it!
Alnico classic
Can you review the les paul 100 also? 😊
is this guitar good for metal?
Same question.
Does it go to 11?
Black stone cherry riff!!!!
Do one on the traditional pro lll from epiphone
2:12 (this is for me bc i wanna do something with that chord)
What is the name of the song you play at the beginning of the video?
I bough one of these 2 days ago, the store I got it from did not give me anything that comes with the guitar. Did anyone had a strap etc. when you bought it?
I bought one few months ago. Didnt come with a strap. Had to buy separate
Dude guitars dont come with strap, get a beginner pack then, it even comes with an amp and picks lol
Would it be the best pairing if paired with Orange Crush 20/35 RT?
I play my Les Paul same color with an Orange Mirco Terror amp and it sounds fantastic. Les Pauls need British amps.
Can you plz do a ibanez vs epipphone standard...
Is it heavy
I'm heading to Guitar Center in a few days, and I don't know whether to get this or an HSS Stratocaster. This because Billie Joe Armstrong played something really similar during the early-mid American Idiot days
Get a Les Paul, you won't regret it. I was in a similar situation, the strat is good but the Les Paul does everything.
@@andrewmccloud8581 I bought the guitar, yesterday lol I bought the Stratocaster but I intend to buy the Les Paul in a year or two. I love my Strat though and it looks like David Gilmour's Strat.
@@heyimjoshnicetomeetya Fair enough. If I couldn't get a Les Paul for whatever reason, or already had one, I'd get a Strat. Looks especially good black finish w/ black pickguard.
@@andrewmccloud8581 I think so too. I love playing punk/emo and heavier stuff (screamo/post hardcore) and my Strat does it fine. I don't get why people think they can't do that sort of stuff well. But it would still be nice to own a Les Paul as well.
@@heyimjoshnicetomeetya Strats do everything, as do Les Pauls. I just prefer Les Pauls because I think they look nicer.
Any reason why they're sold cheaper on the website in the description? On other websites they're sold for over 600
Hi there, pricing is subject to fluctuation.
How about Epiphone producing an affordable version of the Gibson ES -295 so I can pretend I'm Geordie Walker! Pretend is all I'm capable of but I'd still buy it.
I think there is, the Epiphone ES-295 Premium
Thanks!
Michael Wilson I hope you buy it! Epiphone instruments are truly an amazing value, plus they have more experience than any other brand when it comes to hollow bodies/archtops so expect more than just a replica!
im stuck between this and the SG G400 Pro....
MZJ same
I think this is better
OpiumVEVO I agree, but I like the coil splitting feature in the g-400 pro
Same there both great
I have both in ebony.....both are awesome.....the SG sounds really REALLY good due to the slightly better PUPS. Both play amazing.....My SG is Indonesian and my LP is Chinese. Both of my gits are keepers.
Eppiphone lp ve /EPPIPHONE STANDARD

Anyone look under the neck pickup I wanna know if it has a long neck tenon I just ordered one
AHHHHHHHHHAAIIIMMMMM LOOKIN FOWUH MIRACLE MAAAAN!!!!!
Are there cream colored knobs available for the Epi Les Paul standard?
I don't think that it matters what the model of the guitar is
Which pmt do you work at Dagan
what's the intro riff
What's the song that starts at 3:21 until 3:28?
Miracle Man by Ozzy Ozbourne.
What’s a good price to get this used at?
I may be late but umm... Around 325 dollars if it's in good condition.
But you can always find good deals. The one I just bought online is in great condition and it was $170. Gonna see it tomorrow.
i dont know man gibson is little out of my money budget tho epiphone isnt
This man could literally sell you a plunger and you wouldn't think twice about it
Is the neck thick?.
Quite thick, yeah.
What a load off bs! It has a 60s D profile neck which is slip tapped
