Harley-Davidson is making waves in 2025 with significant updates to its cruiser lineup, and it’s all about performance. While there are no entirely new models hitting the market this year, Harley’s focus on refining existing models with fresh features and powerful engine upgrades is enough to get any motorcycling enthusiast excited. The 2025 Harley cruisers come with enhanced versions of the Milwaukee-Eight 117 engine, which will make these iconic bikes even more powerful and efficient than ever before.
The Milwaukee-Eight engine family, which has been part of Harley-Davidson since 2016, is getting a major boost in 2025. The three new engine variants-117 Classic, 117 Custom, and 117 H.O.-bring more power, improved fuel efficiency, and better performance across Harley’s cruiser models. These engines come equipped with new intake and exhaust systems and ride mode programming that deliver a more thrilling riding experience for Harley riders.
The Milwaukee-Eight 117 Classic engine powers the Street Bob and Heritage Classic models. This engine features new four-valve cylinder heads that improve both power and fuel economy. It now delivers 98 horsepower and 163 Nm of torque, which is a four percent increase in performance compared to the previous Milwaukee-Eight 114 engine. This engine is designed to provide a smooth, powerful ride without compromising fuel efficiency.
For the Fat Boy and Breakout models, the Milwaukee-Eight 117 Custom engine takes things up a notch. It features a new oil route that reduces weight, improves cooling, and eliminates the need for coolant system maintenance. The 117 Custom engine pumps out 104 horsepower and 171 Nm of torque-an 11 percent increase in horsepower and a six percent boost in torque over the previous Fat Boy 114 engine.
The top-tier Milwaukee-Eight 117 H.O. engine is the powerhouse of the bunch, found in the Low Rider S and Low Rider ST models. With 114 horsepower and 174 Nm of torque, this engine offers an 11 percent increase in horsepower over the previous version. It also features a new aluminum intake manifold to boost power and reduce emissions, making it the most potent engine in the lineup.
Each of these engines can be further customized using Harley’s Screamin' Eagle Stage Kits and aftermarket intake and exhaust parts, allowing riders to tailor their bikes to their preferences. The 2025 Harley cruisers, with their enhanced engines and upgraded features, are already available on Harley-Davidson's website, promising an exciting year for riders.
