THIS TECHNIQUE SAVED MY DAUGHTERS LIFE LAST NIGHT!!! Im watching this to check the technique I used was correct. Learnt it years ago in children's first aid.. I used this technique without asking her because she's 2 and would t understand or be able to respond plus it was obvious she was choking. Anyways, using this technique allowed me to bring the object up her throat enough that I could pull it out and she could breath again.
I took first aid courses and watched such videos in the past and was able to do it with ease. Years later I’ve been out of practice and decided to come on here to learn again, but this time I have nephews and nieces. I got very emotional watching this thinking about the worst, I hope I never have to do this!
Today my almost 3 year old choked on a grape. Luckily after some bent over back patting I was able to physically pull it out, but I was reminded of how little I know how to handle this situation. I will be watching this and the infant choking video many times so that it comes naturally if needed again.
My son was 4 when he choked on a grape. Scared the hell out of me. I panicked and went straight to his mouth and pulled it out. He is 9 now and I have yet to buy another bag of grapes.. I even watched a video of how to cut your grapes in half long ways, so they can't choke on them. But my nerves still won't let me buy them..
Today at school i was at lunch just casually talking and all of a sudden I couldn't breathe or make any noise but luckily one of the nearby teachers was trained with the Heimlich maneuver and most likely save my life
Im not very emotional and maybe its cause i have 3 children myself but these videos always tear me up thinking about all the people this could potentionally save. Reading the comments and seeing all the people here to maybe help someone else wether its family or a stranger also is a good feeling. thanks for uploading!
Good for you. I babysat my younger siblings. My youngest brother had a hard circular candy in his month running around and it got stuck in his throat. He couldn't breath I got behind him and performed the heimlich maneuver. The candy came flying out. It was scary but you gotta stay calm and conduct the life saving measures.
Thank you so much for this CPR demonstration. I took a CPR class so long ago and being a mother of 6 I need to always refresh this and know this life saving technique. I Pray I never have to use it but just in case will practice this often. Social media is so important and educational and a blessing to everyone when it’s used like this for emergency educational information. GOD bless.
I'm a father of one but every couple months I watch something like this because I start to doubt myself and don't want to get caught off-guard though seconds matter you are a great mother for doing that
Preciosa Arlisia thank Our Merciful GOD in JESUS sweet Mighty name your Son was ok. In the future you can practice CPR techniques for us parents should because tragedy do happen. Stay Strong in the LORD and he will continue to watch over your family and you. May GOD forever bless.
My three year old choked on and then swallowed a quarter today. It was the scariest moment of my life, and all I could think was how I never learned to handle that situation.
it's really such a shame for us humankind that scandals and porn video clips gets billions of views while such life saving videos gets very little views.
My 3 yr old daughter ate something yesterday and suddenly she paused and saw her teary eyes, I think she had a mild choke then after a few seconds she's fine. I was worried sick for that few seconds and realized that I don't know the first aid for choking. I recommend this to every parent, or actually to everyone to watch this. you'll never know when you will need it! Thanks for the video btw!
I had to do this yesterday for my 2 year old. He was choking on and then started to vomit and choking even more because it wouldn't come out and was turning blue. Scariest moment of my life. I'm glad I watched these videos all the time because they are a good reminder it can happen at any moment
Man, the first time I saw my 8 month old choking, I'll always remember that feeling. There's nothing like feeling powerless and in control at the same time.
Had to do this last night when my 10 y/o daughter was choking with food. Luckily was the first part of this video what helped us. I’m surprised I remembered and even though I was so scared and did it.
Thank you so much for sharing this. We all hope to never have to use it, but in case we do it hopefully keeps us calm and capable in such a terrifying situation.
Thank you so much for the informative video. I pray I never need to use this but few a lot more comfortable knowing I know how to react if this does accrue
The point of asking if someone is choking is that it’s not always obvious what’s wrong, people react in panic in very different ways. Yes it sounds stupid when watching a choking video. Real life is something else. Also most people’s natural reaction would instead be to ask “are you ok?” to which even a choking person may wishfully nod “yes” because it can be embarrassing. I’ve found myself on both sides of this situation, a stranger saved my life once.
I saved my son when he was only 5 years old . I didn’t have experience at all at doing cpr . All I saw was my son looked at me and i saw on his eyes he needed help he ate a round mint and got stuck on his throat. I reacted so fast I didn’t even panicked or nothing i got straight to do whatever I had to do do and thank god he spit it out 🙏 it was the most traumatizing moment of my life. After I helped him my legs felt weak and I started crying. It’s important to learn things like this.
My aunt and uncle are fostering some little kids, and when they began the process they needed to learn CPR and heimlich for kids. I babysit often but I never really learned, so I'm googling this and CPR so I know what to do.
my niece almost choked 🥺 because she was eating a cherry and she ran to me saying “something in my throat” (shes 3) i tried to do EVERYTHING but i helped her phew
Thank you for this quick tutorial because you never know when you might save a child and or adult life...For me I was able to save a man's life when he quit breathing and it was this video that I actually watched that showed me how to perform. Cpr
This is great video, thanks for sharing. But I need more info. Can you give a clearer definition for ‘lower half of breast bone?’ How hard am I pressing when administering CPR? Am I breaking any bones? How effective is the Heimlich maneuver statistically? Thank you.
When you meant "attempting to breathe" do you put oxygen into the mount or do u suck out air from the mouth?? Will the puffing in oxygen push the choking hazard further to the throat?

Usually if you get to the kid quick enough there is no need to check for pulse because you know it's still there you just have to quickly act and wasting time could be a problem if you know the only reason why the child is unconscious or without a pulse is because of choking you have to get that food out before you can do anything
I'm confused, do we have to give 2survival breaths before 30 compressions in case of unresponsive choking infant/child or not? In some video, the doctors/person show to give 2breaths before giving 30compression and In some they show only compression. So I am checking several videos. But I'm getting more and more confused whether to give survival breaths or not before 30compression in case of conscious to unconscious choking child. Can you please give me the reply? Thank you🙏
